Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

This Summer is kicking my butt. I'm missing workouts and my eating has gotten off. I can list off a bunch of excuses, but I just read this article on Bruce Lee and to paraphrase it...

If I'm going to say I can't, it's going to creep into every aspect of my life.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I hear you. I love nothing more than a nice cold beer on a summer day in the pool. Well, times the beers by about 8-12..

I'm switching my official weigh in day to Wednesday. I normally eat under my WW points during the week and then use the bonus points you are alloted one night during the weekend for some beers and a burger or something. I weighed in today at 329.6 which would be 1.4 down from last week even though I ate like crap a bit.

Just hopped on the scale today. I was hoping for 288... and hit 286! It's GREAT to see progress being made and makes the "tough stuff" (eating right/working out) easier when you know there is a reason and a purpose.

I only plan on weighing in twice a month - at the middle and the end - but here is my history so far:

        Mid-May: 303
        End May: N/A (no weigh)
        Mid-June: 291
        End June: 286

17 pounds lost in a month and a half... I'll be back in a couple of weeks around the 15th with another update.

          Nice work so far chef!

I had my weigh in today (week 2 of my new 'hardcore' diet and exercise approach) and the results have been good so far.

          Start: 95.7kg (210.9lbs)
          First weigh in: 94.4kg (208.1lbs)
          Today: 93.5kg (206.1lbs)

So down another 0.9kg or 2 lbs this week.

I have been pretty sick this week with a cold and tonsillitis so i missed a weight session and two cardio sessions but my diet has still been on track and the scale is moving in the right direction so i'm happy. I'm getting 4 wisdom teeth out next week which means a liquid diet for at least 3 days so it'll be interesting to see what effect that has.

6'1 1/2 and weighed in at 182.5 yesterday. I've been trying to eat well, but not being too strict about it, and I'm maintaining my weight. Next is working out a ton to build muscle, but I don't know when that's gonna happen lol

I am excited about getting going, I will set up a free workout session with a person there to get me to my goals.

7 minute muscle kicked my butt Friday and Saturday - still feeling pretty sore. Combined that with HIIT on the bike, and I feel like a million dollars. Love being sore!

                          I have a question.

I need to start drinking more water and less sweet tea which I can't get enough of. I've stopped drinking pops and just about everything else and I'm trying to knock off drinking all of this sweet tea. I like drinking water from time to time(not really my cup of tea, pun intended) but, I can drink a **** load more of flavored water consistently than I can regular. I'm thinking about just loading up on that but, does anyone know if is it just as healthy as drinking regular water or would to much be bad?

I dont see anything wrong with it. It's probably not AS healthy as water - but at least it's better than pop or sweet tea. The fact is, you are getting water into your system - keep it up!

I am on my cell phone looking through these threads, so this may have been discussed. Has anyone tried those shake weights and if so any success. I just figured I can do cardio before and after work to lose a little body fat, but think those might be beneficial at work to get a quick arm workout for muscle mass.
