What are y'alls thoughts on peanut butter ?

I'll eat the occasional PB sandwich on wheat for a quick snack for some protein. I'm just not sure if the pros outweigh the cons.

If I'm craving a small meal or snack, I'll usually grab one of those or eat a can of tuna..

I eat PB daily. It's terrible for me i know, but I literally have 2-3 sandwiches a day. I grew up on it, and it's the one thing that I can't kick. The sugar and fat far outweighs the protein... but ah well. I'm married, with kids, don't see the need to have visible abs.

PB isnt all bad. I prefer natural, but its good fats. A bit high in calories, but if you have trouble getting your fats in, PB is a good way to go.

Nothing wrong with peanut butter. If you can use the natural stuff. It's obviously calorie dense so if you're trying to lose weight make sure you don't use too much. It's healthy fats and protein though, so it's actually more good than bad.

Only way you're going to get fat is eating more calories than your body needs, so as long as you aren't doing that you can have whatever you want.

I don't know what kind of freak of nature genetics I have but I eat Peanut butter, Whole Wheat Bread, Drink Milk, eat whole Eggs (not just the Whites) but yet I can't crack 140 lbs... and I can still see my ribs.. slightly not as bad as I used to when I was 120.

and yet some guys can't even look at my Peanut Butter Sandwich. (whole wheat, with natural peanut butter) not that Wonder Bread and GIF garbage... and wince because they fear it will just add fat to them.

I've pretty much doubled my diet and I'm still only adding minimal weight... and I tripling my diet is probably a no no because of Money costs, and quite honestly I'm getting sick of this much food. WTH is wrong!!!

              Same.

When I first started working out I put on weight pretty quick, like a pound a week, but once I added 15 or so pounds it just stopped. I've been hovering around 150 for a long time. It's like if I stick to a diet for a month I'll gain a pound, but then if I have 1 day where I don't eat much I'll lose 3. Sometimes I'll go away for a weekend and eat nothing but fast food and bar food, and drink a lot of alcohol, and I'll lose weight because I wasn't drinking protein shakes or eating any snacks between meals.

I've just decided to enjoy it while it lasts though. I'm pretty cut, and while I'd like to bulk up some more, this is still way better than the alternative of having to eat perfect and workout just to not gain fat.

I know how you feel, I'm just sick of constantly worrying about missing a meal and losing weight. If I miss one of my Shakes, or if I go too long without food. It's like Bam I lose 3-5 lbs.

I want to continue to put on weight, I would love to be able to skip a meal every now and then and stay 150+ but nope my body wants to burn it all and keep burning, It's like I'm fighting a war against skinniness and my weapons are are a fork and knife.

I'm not concerned about weight too much. I really don't have much fat to lose. I'm hovering around 228-230 at 6'3"... and I've got a decent amount of muscle.

Not sure why but when I eat PB daily while working out, I tend to add muscle mass while cutting fat.

My problem with PB is, I can only eat JIF or Peter Pan... none of the natural stuff. Then again, the JIF headquarters is in my hometown, so that's what I was raised on...

Maybe I should clarify what PB I use.

Naturally More with flaxseed. I stay away from the ones you just listed because of their higher sugar content.

Tried macadamia nuts and/or pecans? Both are fairly high calorie. (8-900 calories per cup)

I got in one last workout, to cap off my week.

I hit the gym Sunday - Today and I'll probably take tomorrow night off.

Are you doing cardio? If you are I'd stop, any extra calories burned is killer when trying to put on weight.

I'm in the same boat. I've managed to put on about 4 or 5lbs so far since I've started eating around 3500 calories a day. A bit of it is pudge, but hey I can easily lose that so I'm going to keep pushing for another few months and see how it goes.

Have you tried any of the natural stuff lately? Back in the day it used to be all runny and I couldn't stand it either, but now it's almost exactly like the other JIF, etc just not quite as sweet.
