I see... I just would rather use the P90x dvds than using a grandfather walker

The things people come up with though, seriously

        Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I'm personally doing my own workout. I live in a 2nd floor apartment with the landlord on the first floor, so any heavy cardio is limited.

I do mix in the p90 ab work out though. Those 15 minutes are brutal.

WTF, that looks interesting. Does it make any type of noise, is it safe for me to use in my situation?

No noise other than chicks whistling at you

Nah, seriously though, this thing isn't to get large, and remember, anything that you do exercise wise, as long as you stick with it, you'll get results. I'm not saying go out and buy this for $100.

I really like it as an alternative to my dumbell workouts though. It's a good "off day" or "off week" workout.

I am seriously thinking about doing it for a 12 week program, just as an experiment to see where I end up. I always read on bodybuilding.com forums and guys are knocking this thing left and right, most won't give it a fair shake.

I thought that I was in "decent" shape, been working out and a pretty good sized guy... but this thing kicked my butt yesterday, hard. I kept w/ him, but today I seriously feel it. I think getting into a rhythm/slump w/ working out is what kills me, and this is sometihng I needed to "freshen" it up. I've went through P90x, not through insanity, and I'd class this workout right around that (not AS intense, but a great workout).

I don't recall your situation cj, what is it?

If you live above someone in an apartment, don't throw your "rack". I don't throw it anyway, lay it down gingerly. Very nicely built machine though.

That would be the situation. I like to work out at home. I'll do various light cardio work outs and get good results.

However, something like this is intriguing if it works. The price isn't bad, actually it's pretty good if it works as advertised.

I used to do Insanity at a friends house, however, he is too unreliable, and that workout is a no go at the apartment.

I haven't used it enough to give it the ol' WTF recommendation...

But I do like it, for what it seems to be. I've read every review on Amazon, and the one beef w/ it is it's durability, and that doesn't seem like any concern from what I'm looking at. Maybe I used a "top quality" one, but my buddy got his from Dick's, which is likely where I'll get mine if I pick one up. I'm going to make my decision in the next hour or two, after I finish my workout this evening.

I liked the video presentation too, it was just the dude and his rack. No "fluff" filler in the background, etc. Guy does a good job of keeping the intensity and motivation up. We'll see how tonight goes.

If I'm still as impressed, I'm going to do a full 12 weeks with it. Granted, that's 90 days and I could do P90x, but I've been there, done that. Want to see hwot his compares.

                Sounds good.

If you take the plunge, let us know your feedback after the 2nd go round.

'Till then, I am using my free weights and getting decent results.

The main reason is the lifestyle changes, as far eating and drinking habits.

                  Spoiler

Not for me and you could do the same thing with a few dumbbells like you said but hey whatever keeps it fresh for you and enjoying working out I say go for it. It really does look like a converted granny walker though. It's almost like some guy was sitting there looking at a warehouse full of these unused granny walkers and goes "I just need to come up with a way to move these, I know, I'll sell it as exercise equipment" .

I will NEVER buy another supplement/product from GNC again.

I finally walked the store at the gym and they sell the same Syntha-6 that I've been using for $29.00.. tax free.

I was floored by the prices of most everything they had in there. It was like walking into a mini-gnc with a bunch of other goodies.

The doctor really knows his stuff..

Is that the 2+lb one or the 5 lb? You can get the smaller one for like $21 dlvd on Amazon. 5lb is like $37 or $38.

GNC is not the place to buy protein. Even their hot buys are usually more expensive than you can get them online.

It's rare to get a great deal at GNC even with their gold card as their prices are really inflated. I have four 3 1/2 lb containers of Optimum Nutrition Platinum Hydro Whey that I scored from GNC for $104 total. Cheapest place is Amazon which is $53 each or $212 total.

Amazon usually is the way to go for supplements.

Yeah I always walk out of GNC feeling like I got ripped off after buying my protein or what not.

However there really isn't anywhere else around me that I can get the type of supplements I want. There's the Vitamin Shoppe but that's further away and I'm not sure their prices are THAT much better.

I might have to look into buying supplements online, like Rules suggested.

Been CrossFit-ing my as# off for a few month and have been doing about a 85-90% paleo diet for almost a year. I'm telling you, this stuff works! I supplement some extra cardio and do very little (but still some) standard weightlifting in my gym. Just take a whey protein recovery drink after workouts. I waver between 6-8% body fat (I think it's more a result of the diet than the exercise). Anyway, just got my first muscle up a few days ago and here's a pic of me finally getting that elusive 300-lb dead lift (with my daughter scuttling about like a blurr...)
