    I agree Jonesy,

Since I got back in the gym, I seem to be much easier going that usual. I've never been up tight really, but I do let a lot more stuff bounce off of me and seem to have better days and a better outlook on life, in general.

I'm hovering around 190 right now. I have been going to the gym 4-5 times a week. A mixture of workouts.

          Sunday - Legs
          Monday - Back and Bis
          Tuesday - Chest
          Wednesday - Shoulders
          Thursday - Tris and Bis

Some after workout cardio or abs mixed in.

I'm officially off of upper body training for 4-6 weeks. Lower body, prepare for some pain.

                Just got my tub of
                Spoiler

                delivered.

Going to try it out and see if I can get good results with it, I switched over to this from Syntha-6 which I thought was a very good Protein. Few people said this was a very good brand for it's price, and it is affordable paid like $54 for a 5 lb container.

Got the Cake Batter flavor which you can only get online. The taste so far is phenomenal, tastes like a kind of Coffee-Cake, Cookie Crumb taste. Definitely recommend it if you're a fan of "Vanilla-ey" type Protein blends. (I mixed it with Milk)

Just got done with a pretty Intense Back/Shoulder workout, I hit Traps, lats, rear delts, and did some Tricep stuff. So we'll see what kind of results I get.

Funny..Im trying syntha 6 now. It looks like it has more fluff in it and less protein so I'll probably be going back to ON after I finish this tub off. I do like that it has quite a bit of fiber. Really I only am trying syntha 6 because ON is so expensive now. It used to be 35-40$ for a 5lb tub. I will say, syntha 6 is the best tasting protein shake I've had (chocolate peanut butter). I've tried most of the different chocolate flavored shakes from ON and liked them. Didn't like cookies and cream at all. Almost impossible to drink with just water. Strawberry was OK as well, but I thought it was a bit too sweet tasting.

As far as results...not sure what you're expecting? It's just protein/cals. I'm using it to hit my daily protein intake.

I drink my Protein directly after my workout, so I need it to be as fast acting and Hydro-micronized as possible.

ON is mostly all Whey which is faster absorbing immediately after a work out, Syntha and a few other brands use a blend of Protein called a "Matrix" which is a mixture, of Whey, but also Casein, Egg, and Milk Protein concentrates. So some of that won't be digested for a few hours after intake, where as with me I need my Protein to start kicking in right after my workout to start repairing muscles as quickly as possible. Especially since I'm working out 4,5 days a week.

Do you eat all in the hours before working out?

If you do most of that 'needing fast acting protein within ____ minutes after your workout" is complete broscience and not really something to worry about. Even fast acting proteins like whey takes roughly 8 hours to be absorbed and what you ate in the prior 24-48 is still being broken down and absorbed so as long as your general protein intake is high enough in your diet a post workout shake isn't going to change much of anything.

Yeah I usually work out an Hour after eating a lunch, or dinner type meal. If not I'll eat like a PB Sandwich, Protein Bar, some Fruits, or other carbs before working out. My diet has been pretty good so far, pretty much 90% clean... but I'm still not making the gains I would like.

First few months after working out, I saw amazing results put on 20 lbs in 3 months. Now I'm kind of stonewalled at a current weight that I can't seem to surpass, I've actually lost 2 lbs lately. (Probably from warm weather rolling in, and sweating more.) I mean I guess I need to increase calorie intake, but I'm pretty much at my limit, I've already doubled the amount of times I eat per day, anymore and I would have to force the food down. Also food prices are going up like crazy, and honestly I can't afford to buy substantially more food.

                        Curse my darn metabolism.

I'll trade you my metabolism .

I've found that doing these bodyweight exercises has really helped repair some of the nagging injuries I kept running into. I know it may not be conventional, but pretty much every time I walk by my pull up bar, I'm banging out a few pullups. At work, I have hourly quality analysis I have to perform down in the lab on our ball pins we use in our stabilizer joints, so I do 10 pushups every hour when doing this as well. I've seen significant increases in strength just doing these two things.

And now that it's warming up, I'm gonna get back into running every day if possible.

Not sure what you're dietary needs are or what you're currently eating, but nuts/natural pb are quick high calory foods. Good fats, some protein, low carb.

We did Zimmerman last Monday and that has to be one of my favorite hero WODs - and one that definitely reliefs stress.

25 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)
                              - 11 chest to bar pullups
                              - 2 deadlifts @ 315lbs

I've been diligent on the diet and upping my protein intake and I'm starting put on additional muscle. My scores/times have been improving - I was able to do 210lb back squat for 20 reps unbroken the other day - this is with my hips dipping below my knee crease for a proper squat.

I don't get too caught up in finding the "best protein" because I think it's a lot of marketing. I've been using a protein that has added BCAA as an in between meal shake and Dark Matter as my post-workout shake. I get the other half of my protein from my diet.

Eating good food is paramount in getting the type of results you want - most supplements in jugs are over processed and detrimental. Go watch Bigger Stronger Faster - it'll change your entire perspective on the supplement market.

Also, make sure you're all taking fish oils to help your joints. This is a must - read here for the benefits!
