    Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I've really fallen off my diet the past month or so, and have lost a lot of what I put on this year. Some of it is water weight, but at this point I'm thinking about just cutting down a bit and then doing a cleaner bulk throughout the summer. Thinking about doing like 200-300 calories above maintenance instead of the 500-600 I was doing before.

I also took this week off from working out. My body was fatigued and my knees were killing me so I felt like I needed to.

      Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I'm thinking about going pure bodyweight/cardio for a couple weeks to heal a bit. My shoulder has been giving me issues when doing lat raises and DB flys. Been looking at this website for ideas:

I'm just kind of at a loss for what exercises to incorporate. I'm thinking i'm going try some faster paced BW exercises mixed with cardio to really get a sweat going. Found a couple of good circuits here:

      Any tips are appreciated guys.

        Same.

Most men lose flexibility as they get older. They also lack a lot of core strength since it's only recently becoming a popular focus. Out of all of the p90 workouts I completed I always felt the best after yoga.

For you guys that use Syntha-6, head over to BSN's website! They are having a sale this week. 2.91lb Syntha-6 is only $20, and the 5lbs is $30. Shipping is $7.95 or so, but I went ahead and got two 5 lbs for $68 shipped.

          Pretty sweet deal!

Yeah i know a lot of people who like syntha but when you take into account the cal, fat and carbs, fewer servings i dont see why you wouldnt choose myo plus gaspari nutrition is a good brand.

Myo has more protein to the serving which is why youre taking protein?

And myo has a mix of enzymes to assist your system in extracting the most out of each gram.

Id take syntha more as a quick fix meal replacement.

It is what it is tho.

Starting tomorrow, I'm getting back on track..

I've been hard at it and strict on what I eat for over two months, but this past week everything just sort of fell apart.

Storms, women, work, etc.... just been a hard week to stay on track.

Yeah, during a search & rescue for the Tornado victims yesterday, we were lifting a Piano off of some debri, and I tweaked my neck/back/shoulder pretty badly. I'm not sure exactly what the source of it is, but I'm down for the count today.

I hear you. I may have to bite the bullet and not work out at all, unless very low impact for a few weeks and let this lower abdominal muscle injury I have heal. I've read that these things are tricky to heal, and rest is the only way, which really sucks.

So, how's everyone coming along now ?

I've finally got back in my rhythm, after a bad week. The doc (owner of my gym) actually stopped today to tell me he was seeing a bunch of improvement in me and that he sees that I've gotten bigger/stronger.

I take it as a huge compliment, since the guy is in such great shape and has been in many competitions, throughout the years..

As long as I'm steadily going up in weight, I feel good about what I'm doing. I just need to get my diet back on track to what it should be..

Awesome Chase, you are putting in the work so it's always good when someone notices.

I am doing well diet wise (have gone back to doing IF, it just works for me so well) but due to the injuries my training is taking a hit. I can do any leg training for at least 8 weeks according to the physio and it'll probably be another 4 or 5 weeks until I can do any cardio such as walking or running. Going to have to take up swimming or something in the meantime and will get back into the gym for some upper body training tomorrow probably.

Had another weigh in today and boom down 2lbs. I have been floundering at the same weight for a few weeks now so I switched back to IF this week and instantly saw the results. Not sure why I ever stopped doing it to be honest, it just works so well for me.
