        ^^^ It's so bad it's good.

I cut 2 mins off my PB for my 8k run this morning. I'm really enjoying alternating weight training days and cardio days. Keeps it feeling fresh and I don't seem to get as worn down as I was when I was lifting 5 x per week Mon-Fri.

Well, a couple of buddies and I are starting boxing classes next week to cut weight. Whenever I go to the gym, I just don't feel like doing cardio so getting into this class will help me. My three buddies that are doing it all train MMA (one turned pro after the mandatory '4 amateur fights'), but the gym is only open Monday and Wednesday so they wanted something else for Tuesday and Thursday so this is where we end up. They are all under 155lbs.

I'm hoping this helps me cut down to my target weight, 320lbs and then I'll be able to start calling around to try and get on a semi-pro or arena football team and then try and make my dream come true of playing in the NFL!

Bad news for Jack3d, NOXplode lovers.

FDA Bans DMAA Products. So companies are going to have to start pulling a lot of their pre-workout supplements that contained 1-3 dimethylamylamine. (I had a feeling this ingredient was going to get banned at some point)

So I'm going to just continue using Muscle Pharm assault, I'll miss the super hyped up kick Jack3d gave me but I guess I could go without the 1-3 Dimeth, and be less jittery. Plus Muscle Pharm Assault does more for your recovery, and overall muscle growth than just give you a super energy kick.

I wonder if USPLabs and BSN are going to come up with a new formula for their pre-workouts, and put out an updated Jack3d or NOXplode with alternative ingredients for the 1-3 Dimeth?

NO Xplode doesn't have DMAA in it if I remember correctly. I'm almost 100% on that. Jack3d and PWR do I know.

Anyone want to buy my unopened Jack3d? Only $249.95.

But seriously yeah they probably will have to come up with a new formula that probably won't work as well but will get through the FDA.

Yeah you're actually right, I just looked up the ingredients list.

I could have sworn No Xplode had DMAA but maybe it was the original formula and since then they have re-formulated to NO XPlode 2.0.

I just took some pre-workout, for the first time in a week and It was only half of a scoop of Hyper-FX. I think I've almost weaned myself off of it. I may still use it for the occasional lazy day, but now I just get in the gym and make damn sure I do about 15 minutes of intense cardio.

When I come off the tredmill and my heart rate is up and I've broke a good sweat, It's easy to go right into my workout and keep it going.

Also, anyone have any good ideas for upper and lower back workouts ? I've got a full gym at my disposal.

This thread hasn't had much activity lately. Had a killer Bicep, Shoulder workout today. The kind where you just rip through the weights, and know you gave your all at the end. Haven't had one of those in a while.

I've decided to stick with Muscle Pharm Assault for PWO, due to the recent FDA bans of products with DMAA in it, probably better that I stay away from that ingredient anyway... and I'm really starting to get used to it. It's giving me good energy, and my pumps are pretty good. Got an extra tub of Arctic Blue Raspberry so I can alternate between that and Green Apple. Had really good focus today so I'm going to change my review on Assault from meh, to pretty darn good.

Changed up my shoulder routine to this.

Bent Over Dumbbell Flies, are probably my new "Favorite" Shoulder exercise, and they really get your whole upper back involved which is an area I've been trying to work on. Can't believe I haven't been doing those before.

Been training since January for my first Tough Mudder this Saturday. Minus a couple of weeks in Feb where I tweaked my back and rested to make sure I was OK for a snowboard trip out West.

I hate running. Would always ride the bike.

                          Jan 8 - 30 mins/2.1 miles
                          Feb 23 - 68 mins/6 miles
                          Last week - 27 mins/3 miles
Tuesday - 90 mins/9 miles (with a time of 57 mins at the 6 mile mark)

I wouldn't go as far as to say I "like" running, but it's definitely a better workout than the bike and I'm kinda into it now. The Tough Mudder is 11 miles.

Only lost like 5 pounds during that time though (6'4" 210lb). Was hoping for another 5-10 more - would have helped with all those wall climbs and the monkey bars. I put on some muscle though.

In addition to the gym on my own, I play men's league hockey about 1x a week, tried to do 100 pushups/day (the 100 was easy, motivating to do them everyday was the hard part), did two Tough Mudder 1-hour boot camps, and I did a trial Crossfit class too. The first boot camp and the Crossfit class were killers - it hurt to walk for a day or two after each. I can't even imagine how much pain I'm going to be in for on Sunday and Monday Buy stock in Alleve today guys!

Eh, I haven't posted much lately, but I'm still at it..

I took a few days off because of work and going out of town for some things, so I worked a little bit of chest, back, bis, shoulders, and tris all in one day

Just went for a complete total body workout. I'm going to work legs and run tomorrow and then I'll get back in my rhythm.

Anyone have any good suggestions for working the pectoral muscles ?

I'm much stronger in my chest and I've got some okay definition below my neck and top of my chest, but I feel like I'm not working everything.

                              - Incline Dumbbell Bench Press, Go as heavy as you can with the DBs.

                              - Chest Press Machine, I usually tend to stay away from machines but this one actually does isolate your pecs pretty good.

                              - Wide Grip Push Ups - If you can't get to any equipment and just want to work your chest at Home with body weight try cranking out a few sets of these. Just move your hand placement farther apart to focus more on the chest.

Yeah I'm more of a fan of DB chest exercise rather than traditional bench. I find Bench works the shoulders harder and I'm prone to injury whereas with DB press (Incline, decline and flat) the range of motion is more natural and I can go deeper getting more stimulation of the pecs.
