    Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I was taking the Vita-packs, for a few weeks.. seemed to help a bit.

Finally getting a workout partner, after 5 months. I'm usually not big on working out with people, because I like to jam and get things done, but we've been close friends for about 16 years and he's wanting to get into better shape (he's not overweight or ne thing), so I'm perfectly cool with it. It may even be sort of cool having someone to help spot at all times and to swap inbetween sets. I hate breaking after a set and just having to stand there and either look at my phone or the tv or something..

Dr. Appointment today kind of helped settled some of my health concerns i've had over the past few months. My allergy problems lately comes from the broken nose I got last summer apparently and may just have some gastritis problems. Did however have to get an EKG just because I was complaining of chest pains, did have a strong heartbeat or something like that which apparently is a borderline enlarged heart according to the Dr.(He wasn't concerned with it other then don't do cocaine or other stimulants and my family doesn't seem concerned so that settled the initial anxiety that gave me lol).

Kind of opened my eyes a little tho to try and keep this new healthy lifestyle i'm trying just to hopefully avoid serious heart problems as I get older.

Just started my gym routine on Tuesday, try to keep to my old football routine. Chest/Triceps/Abs/1 mile jog, then Legs/Biceps/Shoulders/Abs/.5 mile walk to stretch out at end, next day I rest then repeat for another 2 days. Now on Sat/Sun in school was off days, so I may just keep that the same idk yet.

Haha, I'm ok when I have my ipod with me, but if i forget my ipod I hate time in between sets. I feel so awkward with nothing to do just sitting there staring at people.

I just sit on a bench, or seat put my head down, usually rest my chin on my knees for a minute or two and go back to hitting my work-out.

A lot of people come up and ask me if I'm ok, or if I need water or something I tell them I'm fine I'm just resting between sets..

Finally started getting back into legs today after weeks of procrastinating. The main thing that I worried about was the leg press, which I put up 630lbs twice. Those two felt really easy, I got them up without any trouble but the third one, I got it half way up and came to a dead stop.

I can relate, yesterday I pushed myself to do more in my cardio side of my P90X Double and I decided to not only jog for 20 minutes and bike for 15 minutes (3 times, 5 minutes each), but I also decided to do sprints as well. Yesterday's workout for me also included Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps, and Ab Ripper X.

I certainly paid for it today because Plyometrics was certainly unforgiving with quads that were screaming.

I'm going to a different gym, today. I've been at my current place for 5 months and I need something different. I'm going to pay for a single day and prob either roll back and bis or chest and tris...

New motivation, and motto. Saw a video of Adrian Peterson, working out after his brutal ACL injury last year, and he is really motivated to getting back to playing shape and being ready for Week 1 this year. Really got me pumped about pushing myself even harder to make my goals come true.

Now I just need to find some little Wristbands, with the motto "Train Like a Freak" on them.

Got to the gym (my old gym) and girl told me it was $15.00 for a day. I told her that her boss was out of his mind and I know it's not her fault, but I'm going down the road to my gym, that costs only twice that much for a month.

So I pulled something in my back today, bad. I was doing the leg press and I pushed the weight up a different way during my third rep and I'm really feeling it. I was hoping it was just my back spasms acting up like usual, but as the day went on, every step I take hurts like hell. I guess that's why you shouldn't change something up when you're lifting 630lbs when the old way was working for you.

Regardless, I'll be heading back to the gym tomorrow. I got an e-mail today from a football coach for a semi-pro team in Scranton but their season starts the June 16th and I don't think my cardio is where I need it to be.

I killed it on chest. Man, building muscle is a lengthy process. I've been back in the gym for 5 months and have some decent tricep and bicep definition, but I'm lacking with my back, traps, and chest... but they're getting there.

I just keep on keeping on and I'll get there, eventually.

I started dieting a couple months ago, I wanted to lose some weight for my buddies wedding(I'm the best man), i started my diet at 235 and im down to 215.I started off by lowering my calorie intake to about 1800 and by going jogging in the park with my dog. I have gradually increased the amount I exericse, I like to get out 3 or 4 times week.

I just bought a new bike, it's a specialized crosstrail and it is awesome. I really look forward to riding my bike while I'm at work, I want to make it my hobby.
My dog's butt smells like cookies

It's kind of hard to get into the groove of a good Back/Trap routine.. but there are a few effective exercises.

For Back - I do: Deadlifts, Bent over Rows, Pull-Ups, Inverted Rows.

Traps: Plate Shrugs (take two 25 lb. plates; one for each arm and keeping my arms straight, and elbows slightly bent bring them up until I get a good shoulder squeeze) You can go heavier with the weight if you're bigger, stronger. I have seen some guys in my gym shrugging 45 lb. plates.

Don't really know what else is good for Traps without it being some kind of "Shrug" variation.

Chest there are a ton of routines, and exercises I've posted some, but definitely hit up Youtube, or Google there are so many.
