Started DDP's Yoga this week. Three sessions in addition to my cycling and running has been excellent. Very happy with the Fat Burner Plus program. I'm not a big yoga guy but this program is excellent.

I don't have weights or equipment of any kind. For a little while I was doing curls using a gallon milk jug full of water lol. I went ahead and bought the push up stands today. Good news= they don't hurt my wrists, bad news= they hurt my palms.

Would wrapping a towel around the handles help any?

I like push ups too. That's how I warm up for a chest workout. I throw my feet on a bench or box and see how many I can crank out in 60 seconds.. then go into my chest workout.

Current chest workout, as of yesterday...

65 lb dumbell bench press on flat bench / 3 sets of 10

55 lb dumbell incline and decline bench / 3 sets of 12

Crossover flys with the pulleys with 60 lbs in each hand / 3 sets of 15

Forward and backward flys on the machine with 90 lbs total / 3 sets of 15 both ways...

And 3 sets of 15 at 80 lbs on the preacher curl machine because they help with chest too.

            I don't bench with a bar.

I've been in the gym only 6 1/2 months and I'm finally starting to be able to throw around a lot more weight. I'm not afraid to drop weight a few lbs to make sure I get my reps and with my biceps and triceps I'm reps/weight.. not working out to play football..

Lol I would love to see how you hold up in a gym doing some heavy duty Benchpress, or Barbell curls, but yeah I'd take discomfort in the open Palm/grip area of your hands, than wrists, shoulders any day.

I once did Barbell skullcrushers and had to have a super tight grip on the Bar so it wouldn't slip out of my hands, and boy did that cold, foreign feeling bar leave marks on my hands for days.

So that's one week of beginner swimming lessons and it looks like I was better swimmer than I gave myself credit for. However I think it's great I took this class since there were things I was doing wrong. However the biggest thing is how much of workout swimming is, even if the lessons are slightly over half-an-hour.

I've scaled back on my P90X workout this week and also upped by calorie intake because swimming burns a lot of calories.

On May 29th I decided to cut out sodas completely and drink water only (had a few glasses of tea in between) . Since then I also have used portion control on what I eat, I walk 20 minutes a night and I have lost about 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I am feeling so much better. I want to lose about another 12-15 pounds. I was 173'ish and I would like to get down between 145-150. Remember, I am only about 5'6", and that's pushing it.

It is awesome. I run marathons and my wife trains for Ironmen and we both are doing it and it is a perfect compliment to our endurance training. Already feeling leaner (and am lighter) than I was a week ago. Definitely try it.

I eat a lot of raisins. Cheap, a lot of energy with good sugars and keeps me 'regular' on the throne if you know what I mean.

Love the NBA, but the playoffs really hurt my workout routine, because I usually work til at least 6:30 each day. I'll be able to get back on a regular schedule now.

It's just so damn hard to work out in the sun all day and then find energy for the gym. I cheat some, but I wish I could do it without anything...

Beef jerky, mixed nuts, hard boiled eggs, fruit....usually what I'm feasting on in between meals, anyway.

My snacks have been handful of assorted nuts: almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds and a piece of fruit: pear, apple, banana. Pretty much what our ancestors snacked on.

I've been taking apples and bananas for my snacks at work. I still eat something sweet occasionally.
