    Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I'm now trying to get back down to 215 from 225... cut cut cut.

I don't even really eat any junk food throughout the day.

I had some oatmeal this morning for breakfast, a banana and protein shake for an afternoon snack, then tuna/whole weat crackers, and I'll eat something else on my way home from work tonight.

I drink coffee in the morning on the way into work, water throughout the day, and then a glass of tea with supper at night.

I just can't shed those few lbs. The Navy may just have to get over it. With my strucle and muscle, 225 is about right.

One thing I'm doing since I don't have a lot of time to make it to the gym. I'm trying to do 50 push-ups in the am and 50 in the pm. Eventually I would like to do all 50 back to back. Plan on getting a jump rope and doing cardio with that. Just trying to think of things I can do at home without a weight bench.

      Any other ideas?

Buy a Kettlebell, or some Manageable Dumbbells. (any where from 15-40 lbs) tons of exercise variations you can do with those and they are easy to store in a closet or something. Just look up Dumbbell or Kettlebell exercises online there are literally thousands of different variations for different muscle groups.

Same with a Resistance Band. I have one of those Pull-Up portable bars you can hang on your doorframe, word of advice though they aren't that safe, I was using it and it actually snapped off part of my doorframe one day.

You can Bench Dip on a chair, Sofa. Just make sure it's stable and can support your body weight.

You can really get creative and do a lot of things at home. I've mainly been working out at Home this Winter, and I don't have a lot of fancy equipment.

          Burpees
          Mountain Climbers
          Lunges
Push ups where you alternate bring your knees to your elbows. Helps with core.

Those are a few that will make you sweat. Hope it helps.
I am the lesson after the fall.

This. Burpees will absolutely shred you and have you on the verge of tears.

Dook, here is a suggestion I saw on the Biggest Loser, (yes, I watch it every so often) and just read about it in a book.

Take a pack of cards and designate each suit as a set of exercises.

              Burbees= hearts
              Mountain Climbers = spades
              Lunges= clubs
Push Ups = diamonds (thanks Rhianna)

              Face cards = 10, aces= 11, all the others equals 1-9 reps.

Throw the cards randomly one at a time, and you will have a heckuva workout.

On alternate days, work on the upper body. bicep curls, overhead press, tricep extention etc......

                Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I have read the many benefits to adding rebounding to a regular cardio routine.

I went ahead and ordered this mainly because I sustained a knee injury in the line of duty several years ago that causes my knee to ache alot after running or doing any type of plyometrics.

Anyone interested, let me know as I should have it by this Friday to workout on.

Just installed my stud bar chinup bar and the thing is awesome. Doesn't budge.

What is the brand name of that bar King? I need something stable like that, I hate those ones you put on your door frame.

That's exactly why I got this, it's actually called "Stud Bar".

Stud Bar - ceiling or wall mountable pull up bar. Fixed-mount pull-up bar for CrossFit, chin ups or kipping. Install in your ceiling, rafters or wall studs.

Continuing on Advocare products... Eating 2,300 calories a day...

21 pounds down in about 35 days. Never felt better in my life.

Not a quick fix... Not a "diet." It simply ENHANCES the process.

That's good. Not a knock on your Advocare but there are less expensive and healthier ways to go. I'm down 10 pounds in two weeks just by eating clean, water and exercising.

I'm down for 219 to 204 since the beginning of the year. Although, I lost the majority during the first 2 weeks of dieting.

All I have done is cut out fast food and diet sodas. My workout regime has stayed the same (which is just playing b-ball 3-4 times a week). I did have a week or so around the 1st of Febuary where I did pretty poorly. I had a death in the family and when I go back home my wife had surgery. So I basically missed about a week and a half of ball, plus ate badly during that time, as well. However, I'm back on track now and my goal in to get into the 100's by March the 1st..

Well, the science behind the products is outstanding and to be honest, there is a viable business opportunity present as well. I am away from my family basically 18 hours per day, five days per week... Not only has my health suffered because of that, but grinding it out day in and day out like that and not giving my wife and sons the best of me has been rough.

Like I said before... Of course there are less expensive ways. But this has simply enhanced the process for me and I have seen many, many people in my life who have used the products and that was the push that they needed to break through into a healthier lifestyle.

Not trying to be a salesman here. But it's a very viable and effective option for me and I don't regret it one bit.

I WILL retire from the grind of being owned by a job within five years. True lunacy is being away from my family 70 to 75 percent of my life. The amount of research I did on Advocare was exhaustive (at least a year of measurable research).

It's not for everyone, but it has definitely been for me so far.

...and to piggyback off of my previous post...

I went all in as the highest level of Distributor. I paid $2,100. It hurt. I got $3,000 worth of product and have sold it all in less than a month. I am $900 ahead now and have a 40% discount for life. It didn't hurt too much after all.

If I stopped now, I have already come out ahead.

I am the absolute biggest skeptic around, as is my wife. But the products work and the business opportunity is viable for us. I have been on OS for years (3,700+ posts) so I am not a spammer or anything like that. Just sharing something that works for me with my OS brethren.
