It's the fact that they are circumventing the procedure I have a problem with.
I believe that is unreasonable to get a warrant for the listed circumstances.

It's like...say you are out of town and your neighbor is watching your house. Your neighbor sees a guy jump your fence and then the guy disappears. Neighbor calls police and says there is an unknown person in the backyard and that they know their neighbor is out of town.

You want the police to get a warrant to check your backyard?

        Prayers man.

        The wait absolutely sucks.

If we've now reached a point where people are celebrating the deaths of people who die from this, who at first didn't think this was as big of a deal as it's become...and a politician (of all people - AOC) who tweets (since deleted) the celebration of the tanking of the oil industry (which is HUGE in Texas) and people's livelihood at stake - then this world sucks...big time. I hate what America has become in the last few months. It's sickening... Our problem is deeper than a virus - it's the rooting for death and economic failure JUST TO PROVE A POINT. Think about that....

There's been government overreach and systematic oppression for 200 years depending on who you've been. Its cute people are finally coming to that realization now since their supposed freedom is threatened, but a lot of them haven't cared about anybody but themselves while thumbing their nose at everyone else.

Indiana is starting to open things up.

Some "non-essential" medical facilities are being allowed to open back up.

Expects around May 1st to May 4th to start opening non-essential retail businesses to curbside service only.

In Kentucky, Kentucky Kingdom amusement park is planning to open its doors on June 1st.

This type of stuff barely scratches the surface on people involved in the government lacking empathy unless it's convenient for them. It's not even exclusive to politicians either. We're all guilty of it at times and when the face of your country is a career piece of trash the bar is set pretty low.

I don't think everyone is saying "I'm glad this man is dead" as much as they are giving it a shoulder shrug and chuckle because it's ironic. I don't get dark humor most of the time, but I understand some people cope differently.

I've been trying to be better about understanding everyone's point of view. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but I told my wife the other day that I'm "tired of not liking people." It's exhausting and no way to live life.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

Re-opening the economy was always going to be a very polarizing thing. Anything about "the economy" has been that way throughout my entire lifetime. Depending on your P.O.V. and political persuasion. I'm not getting into the weeds on that.

But, I think it will be an interesting experiment for the states that open relatively soon to see how things go. And, also, because states don't exist in a vacuum, to see how their actions bleed over into other states.

Worst case scenario I see is the virus really getting a second wind, many unnecessary deaths, and more squeamishness about re-opening in the future.

Best case scenario is the states that re-open never really have that "surge" and other states/people get more confident about going back out again as this tails off.

In any case, we're about to find out who is right.

What’s going to complicate things for some folks is childcare. If non-essential businesses start reopening AND schools are still closed what are people going to do? If Daycare’s open back up then those slots will fill up fast not too mention it takes time (to account for medical records, etc...) to enroll kids in daycare.

Georgia has a 28-3 lead on the virus so I’m thinking if any state can close it out, it’s them.

Did you think that genie was really still in the bottle to begin with? Without going full-blown conspiracy theorist, the federal government probably has the means to do whatever it wants already and without us knowing. I'm not saying that it's right, but technologically speaking there's really no expectation of privacy. At best, we can hope that decent enough people, and the watchdog systems in place, working in the government will limit what they do with the information they collect. Sometimes it's helpful to remember that there are actual people, for better or worse, that work in the government--many of whom probably don't want to be spied on any more than we would. This self-interest probably saves us from the worst of it.

I also don't think people behaving stupidly and disobeying guidance that would benefit the public health in a state ravaged by a deadly virus is really the correct application for this type of outrage.

I'm sure drone use will make its way to the Supreme Court and a ruling will be made on the specifics of what constitutes an illegal search with drone use.

I can, without a warrant, legally observe illegal activity on private property and not violate constitutional rights.

On the flip side, I had to arrest people for violating our state order. They were asked to leave this public space repeatedly, they refused. They were given the order to leave, they refused. They were given a citation for violating the order and ordered to then leave, they refused. They were then asked several more times to leave and they told us to arrest them.
I figure if one uses "liberties" to put others at further risk (the police officer that has to arrest your *** for being a schmuck, the neighbor/co-worker that will be getting sick in a week because you decided to have a shindig on your private property, the hospital workers that have to treat the X number of new infections because you decided to have that oh-so-important shindig), then you are S.O.L. This is an exercise in personal selfishness, not in personal liberty.

But, that's just the thing...while this behavior reflects poorly on her, then it's the other side that is now trying to score points and fill the heads of its legions of viewers by pointing that out. Divisiveness any way you slice it. It's this continual battle of echo chambers that is the problem. Not that so-and-so had a stupid thought, but that said conditions for formulating that stupid thought are unavoidable these days. And that people get so worked up that the impulse tweet-and-delete thing happens so often like this.

This is a 1st ballot OS HoF post. Well done, sir.

I'd add a gif of Nick Saban smiling if such a thing were ever to happen.

That guy almost assuredly spread the virus more because of his attitude. It’s going to get pointed out because acting like him gets people killed. It’s not to mock him and his family, it’s to get others to wake up.

Honestly, I was talking to my dad about this. The shutdown has shown a light on both how much damage we are doing with our cars, and how quickly it can come back.

My dad is a typical Boomer, but he brought up that it is time for us to make a massive push to electric vehicles. My wife and I are planning on trading in our cars for electric vehicles. At the very least, I think I am done with ever buying combustion engines going forward.
