Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
Gonna give these a try tonight. One question, do you have to load these outside of cfm and then import them like last year or can you just plug them in directly inside cfm?

Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
Quinn, I played two full CFM games with your sliders last night, and both games were wildly different. In the first, I was Philly taking on Jacksonville. It was a blowout--a 49-7 win that seemed way, way too easy. Jags were struggling to run the ball with only 82 rushing yards. (However, they struggled even moreso in the real game last weekend.) Blake Bortles started, and he threw for 72%, which included some off-target passes, and no picks. Biggest negative: he was sacked seven times.
With Nick Foles, I thew SIX TD's and no picks. Human rushing game seemed easy, but not broken. Code:
JAX PHI Total Offense 248 500 Rushing Yards 82 213 Passing Yards 166 287 First Downs 13 24 Turnovers 1 0 Penalties 3-35 3-35 Code:
Jaguars Stats Pass C/ATT YDS TD-INT PCT Blake Bortles 18-25 216 0-0 72% Rush CAR YDS AVG TD Toby Gerhart 21 64 3.0 1 *Rec REC YDS TD Ace Sanders 2 57 0 Justin Blackmon 3 55 0 Code:
Eagles Stats Pass C/ATT YDS TD-INT PCT Nick Foles 25-31 304 6-0 80% Rush CAR YDS AVG TD Lesean McCoy 31 160 5.1 0 Nick Foles 6 26 4.3 1 Darren Sproles 5 20 4.0 0 *Rec REC YDS TD Zach Ertz 4 93 1 Arrelious Benn 6 63 1 Riley Cooper 6 55 0 Jordan Matthews 4 46 2 Code:
SF DAL Total Offense 504 390 Rushing Yards 387 47 Passing Yards 117 343 First Downs 15 19 Turnovers 1 3 Penalties 3-35 2-30 So uh... I don't know what to think, my man! I will try your updated set tonight. |

Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
Just finished playing the Cowboys.
First of all, they are riddled with injuries. QB Tony Romo out for 29 weeks with a complete ACL tear, RDE Demarcus Lawrence out 3 weeks with a broken thumb, MLB Sean Lee out 2 weeks with a partial ACL tear, LOLB Bruce Carter out 1 week with a shoulder tear, and their CB Brandon Carr out 2 weeks with a broken thumb. These were all starters. They actually have a few more injuries, but I don't believe they were starters, but probably rotation players. So, Brandon Weeden (lol), Demarco Murrary, Dez Bryant, and Jason Witten would have to lead the Cowboys to victory on offense. Morris Claiborne was really the only one on defense that did anything. He had 1 sack and some pass breakups. The game started with the Cowboys getting the ball first, and they started with the run game. Murray busted a few big runs to begin with, and I was thinking, "oh no, not again with stopping the run." After a few big gains, his backup Lance Dunbar came in and broke a somewhat long run for a TD. They started fast with the run, and actually gave me a good one-two punch of Murray and Dunbar (if you look at the box score), but they really couldn't do much more than break a few smaller runs here and there after that initial drive. So, Weeden turned to the pass. You would think he would choose Dez Bryant as his go-to WR, but his favorite of the game was TE, Witten. He actually passed for intermediate routes most of the time when he did pass, but didn't do so hot. He did go deep about 4 times in this game, two which resulted in INTs. Overall, he couldn't sustain a drive for most of the game, and ended the game with 4 picks and no TDs, one being a late pick six in the 4th quarter. Their defense, as I expected was abysmal. Yet again, I must say, starting Keenum over Hill after game one was the right move, because now I have a good feel for Keenum and he doesn't throw as many errant passes on intermediate to long routes as Hill does. He is average, Hill is below average in my opinion, because even though Hill's short throw accuracy is great, his deep throw accuracy is 66.. not even in the same ballpark as Keenum's. I get way less overthrows and wide-sailing balls with Keenum. With that said, I started with the run game early, and Zac Stacy was definitely putting in work. The O-line opened holes up the gut, and Stacy was trucking defenders for extra yardage. His best game yet, but that is to be expected from a decimated defense in the Cowboys. He helped sustain drives by running well, and that opened up the passing game for Keenum, especially the play-action. Unfortunately, even though they came out with a quick score in the 1st quarter, they had no Romo and too many key starters out on defense. So, this was a blowout. I had 6 takeaways (4 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries), and they had no answer on offense. I didn't have as many sacks this game, either. 6 total sacks, and I'd say for this game they were all mostly legit. No QB holding onto the ball and stupidly taking a sack. I had quick penetration and I also added in many zone blitzes for a couple sacks. I would say for this game 5 of them were legitimate sacks, with one maybe being the QB not getting rid of the ball quick enough. One good thing though, he did throw some passes away when pressure came. He also tried scrambling while I chased him, only to get rid of the ball just in time. I don't know if this is because I went from 10 Intentional Grounding back down to 1, or not. I will need to see how many more 8-9 sack games happen with it at 1. 6 isn't too bad, with I think 5 being legit sacks on a below-average QB. All in all, with all the key injuries to starters and the 6 total turnovers, and me playing very well on offense and defense, they had no chance in this one. Bye week is next, then I'm about to enter some NFC West play. That will be the true test to see how the sliders perform. 49'ers and Seahawks coming up. I have no key injuries yet, just one lowly rated CB that doesn't start. The team's confidence is high now after going 3-0, and I'm still slowly developing the 2 starting rookie CBs in my secondary, but they are holding their own pretty well. I have still yet to see a clipping penalty called, but all other penalties (besides the mysterious holding penalty.. but I still see it called from time to time) are being called in each game in different numbers. I raised the clipping penalty from 75 to 80 now, and will test it there. I am still testing Intentional Grounding at 1 now, rather than 10 or 5. I just hope to see less sacks, but as I've already mentioned, EA probably needs to do another fix to prevent so many sacks from happening. Here's to hoping... And for those interested in how the game actually went stats-wise, here is the box score:

Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
Are you calling your own plays through say, the Formations tab, to try and counter what's working for them, rather than using Coach Suggestions? I find playing the X's and O's of these games by knowing what formations to call and how to scheme for a team makes a huge difference. I mix it up with zone blitzing a lot, and also regular zone and man coverage. I'm rather aggressive in my play-calling, but I'll back off if something isn't working, and try another method. Knowing what to call on certain downs and distances is far better than using the Coach Suggestions, but I do realize some people like the "coaches" calling plays for them. Just a tip, because I don't know why your games are so extreme from one game to another, as I am not having extreme results. EDIT: Check out the last several pages if you want to see what kinds of games I'm having. I have write-ups on the first 3 games as well as full box scores. I'll keep posting these as I play. Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
By the way, I'm taking a break. I might get some games in late tonight. If so, I'll post write-ups and the full box scores, as usual. Tougher part of the schedule is coming up, so it'll get interesting.
As I've previously mentioned I'm final on the gameplay sliders. I am still testing the clipping (up to 80 from 75) penalty slider, as I've yet to see one called in a very long time. I am seeing a good balance of penalties each game with the other penalty settings. The holding penalty is the only one that is flawed, really.. although clipping could be flaw as well, since I was 65, 70, and 75 and yet to see one called in 4 full pre-season games and 3 regular season games. Maybe, 80 is the number, we'll see. I had collaborated and agreed with Armor on the Intentional Ground slider being at 10. We thought it would make the QB get rid of the ball quicker when pressure came, as well as tend scramble away from pressure if the QB was more mobile, or quite possibly make a quick dump-off to a RB or close WR, instead of taking the sack. I'm not seeing that though. If you go back to the box scores of my first two regular season games, you'll see too many total sacks. I put it at 5 for game two, and still had way too many sacks. So, I decided to go back to the old "idea" of having it at IG 1 like a lot of people did in M25, and after the Cowboys game, I did see Weeden throw the ball away a bit more than the previous QBs in my last two games. And instead of taking 10 or 12 sacks, he took 6. I would still like to see less, as the sack totals are still a problem, in my opinion. But this is what EA gave us... |

Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
THE TITANS FINALLY WIN.... damn it was against the Browns lol.
Browns 6 - 20 Titans. This was with the tweaks posted. Stats for those interested. PASSING:- Manziel 19/24 - 137yds INT (which was a pick 6) Mettenberger 13/26 - 180yds INT RUSHING:- Tate 19 for 82yds Greene 20 for 112yds TD DEFENSE:- Browns - Sacks 4, TFL's 9 Titans - Sacks 7, TFL's 12 (3 of these sacks were Manziel running around try to be Johnny Football lol) Very tight game that was ultimately decided by the pick 6. Now I have a problem.. Locker is back from injury. Maybe someone reads this in the next few mins can tell me what they think I should do. Locker - 26/37 220yds 3TD 2INT Mettenberger - 85/142 1000yds 5TD 6INT ....

Re: Quinn's Sliders (Armor & Sword base set w/ tweaks)
I don't know if you've kept up with last 4 or 5 pages or so, but I've made some slight changes to the gameplay sliders. I don't know if you saw them already, but they were updated in the original post. Those are the final gameplay sliders. No more changes to them from here on out. I'm only testing the clipping penalty slider now, as well as testing intentional grounding down to 1 from 5 and 10. If I can get the clipping penalty to start being called once in a while, I'll be done with penalties. As for intentional grounding at 1, that remains to be seen, but that is only a minor change, and hope that it somehow will lessen sacks marginally... although I am skeptical. We'll see.. |
