I forget the stats, but the game played very well. Only thing I'm concerned with was human QB Accuracy. Using Hoyer I was hitting everything except a few deep balls.
Agreed with Tony's comment just above....also remember that 'Play Now' plays differently from CFM.

Jaguars CFM @ 2-1
I control QB and RB but no other player. I let the CPU control my wideouts after the catch. On defense I select the deepest safety and put the controller down. I primarily run a 4-3 Cover 3 or run Nickle with a safety playing zone underneath.

Thoughts:
I find that my speed backs Pierce and Grant easily reached the edge, though, my third game Grant was pretty useless. Could NOT reach the edge.

CPU tended to start off slow and then pick up steam as the game went on.

Against the Lions Stafford threw two deep balls to Calvin Johnson in double coverage - he caught one. Thad Lewis targeted Johnson ~5 more times because Johnson was for some reason in the game

Against the Steelers Gradkowskie was on fire and no matter what I did he just kept finding receivers.

The pocket forms nicely, but not enough pressure. None of my sacks were because defenders beat their man - coverage sacks.

Coverage seems perfect. Jags do not have great corners and that is evident against good wideouts.
Good stuff saywatt....be interested to see how regular season pans out (I could swear that preseason always feels different, and it just isn't the backups in the game).

One other thing, the game will play out a tad differently when you don't control a player then when you do. Not saying that this is a good or bad thing....but it does make a difference.

Tebow and Thomas aren't great. I have to throw slants, screens, and other short routes to make completions.

I find passing to be fun. I find open receivers but it is challenging getting a big play in the air - especially with Tebow and Thomas. There are many errant throws and ups and downs throughout the game.
Interesting stuff. Very similar to the way I play, except I play the FS (and often times a LB if i'm trying to stop a TE from gutting me) manually.

How do you handle play calling?

I tried all the time to bring down the QBA slider to 40, but It foremost resulted in too many INT on both sides. Bringing down the INT slider affects overall awareness and starts the "house of cards" with the set. After I finally resigned myself to 50, I realized things tend to even out. Always......

I wasn't getting a "push" in the run game on either side, so I adjusted the penalties as such the past 3 games:

Offsides: 50
False Start: 60
Holding: 50
Facemask: 30

Its there now lol.....The final thing im looking at is the 50-60-50 dynamic is a little overpowering on the d-line, Ive seen signs both ways. Gonna give it a few more games tonight.....

Oh BTW Im using the Jags too

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Does anybody play these as coach mode? Not controlling any of the players. Josh I saw you said it plays different if you don't control a player. Can you elaborate on that at all? Also what does All Pro/All Pro/All Pro refer to as far as setting difficulty settings? Do we need to set that in 3 places?

I just make a 'gameplan' before hand. Like against the lions I stuck to cover 3 in nickel to avoid the big plays... But they ran calvin in the slot running crossing routes so I switched to 4-3 so he'd get smacked by a linebacker hoping for a drop. I manually move my safeties closer to the line, shift LB's/dline presnap but that's about it.

On offense I've been using two tight end sets with colt lyerla and Julius Thomas so I have a huge speed advantage for tebow he can actually make throws if I keep my receievers within 10yds from scrimmage haha.

I'll try your modifications and raise CPU pass acc back to 50.

Mike....like I said in my previous post, I can't really explain "no control" defense...it just seems like user input affects things. This is pretty much a default setup, so coach mode should be fine.

The first AP is the mode you select after the initial intro plays. The second AP is the main menu, and the third is the CFM.

Don't thank me...thank EA (it's still really weird to say that)....

You got some variety there, that's for sure. I like that you had a great game with Stewart in one game and got shut down in the other. Don't fixate too much on stats as long as they don't get completely stupid for a multi-game stretch...I really suspect it will even out in the end.

Hey Tony....yeah, the "house of cards" is so well-balanced on default that it just seems silly to upset it.

Now....I like the lower facemask...I thought about going lower on it as well, so I will have to give 30 a try.

Not surprised that the offset false start value is feeling a bit OP. I'd bet that if you run through replays, O-linemen are consistently getting about a 5 yard push downfield. The offset idea is a good one, but don't be afraid to experiment the other way. Giving the d-line a little more push can encourage block shed and allow the o-linemen to pick up that block on the LB trying to fill the gap.

Re: JoshC1977's M16 Sliders

Wanted to report how my 4th preseason game is going.

I wanted the line to be more realistic and i think I've achieved it! So my jags are playing the redskins and their LT is rated 73 overall. He's facing Dante Fowler and Dante is smoking him! I've had two beautiful sacks on the first quarter against RG3. Here are my settings:

Offsides: 57 (higher for a bit more push by D-line)
False Start: 57 (higher for a bit more push by O-line)
Offensive Holding:45 (lower if you want more block shed)
Defensive Holding:55
Facemask:30 (can go lower for more strip tackles and more broken tackles)
Illegal Block ITB:50
Sliders are default except 30 pass block on both sides.

I might up pass block to 35, we will see how the game goes.
