Yes, critical for gameplay purposes...it's the whole foundation of this set.

If this has been stated already, I have yet to find it. Do you recommend penalties be left at default?

How do you change coach settings for the cpu?

It seems like they are always running a zone defense for most of the game and it is easy to pick them apart. I also agree that it can be too easy to sack the QB's, so I chose to start controlling the DT or LB. I still enjoy using these sliders though because I feel like I can actually break away for big plays. I liked Matts sliders as well, but I felt like it was too hard to break away on big runs unless you manage to pull off a combination of jukes and spins to get past the defenders, as I think they shed their blocks way too easily.

our coaches (all three of them):
Off Run/Pass: 50
Off Aggression: 50
Off Sub Freq: 50
Def Run/Pass: 50
Def Aggression: 30
Def Sub Freq: 50

For CPU coaches (all of them)
Off Run/Pass: Team-specific
Off Aggression: 65
Off Sub Freq: 50
Def Run/Pass: 50
Def Aggression: 30
Def Sub Freq: 50

Do penalties get called with this set and do you get subs?

Do you have any recommendations to make running easier? I also saw on one of the other forums that removing the skills from the coaching tree raises the difficulty. Do you think this would affect your sliders by applying these changes?

Penalties rarely get called regardless of slider setting aside from the random false start on FG attempts or at the end of a long drive.

Subs do happen....but as I said before, autosubs are critical in this setup for the gameplay...not for subbing patterns.

User or CPU running?

Coaching trees: you could certainly go down that route for user teams. Taking them out globally for all teams does (to a small degree) take away some of the mystique of upper-level programs
