1st Round Results

Last years playoffs were perfect for who won them. It was filled with high profile teams and stars advancing that you wanted to see. This years is pretty much the exact opposite which is good if your Washington.

Portland barely beats Phoenix in 7 as Penny is playing hurt. Bird was a bit off as well with 20-12-6. They are heavy favorites to win the West.

A lot of injures in this series New Orleans is without two starters (Cam Reddish, C Cassell) and Houston its best player (Jalen Green). Zion was unstoppable 32-12-5 on 60% shooting. C.J McCollum and DeAngelo Russell a odd fit next to Zion combine for 38 points.

Spurs make quick work of Denver despite Ben Simmons being out for the series. Rozier the #1 scorer on the team had a bad series just averaging 13.

A huge shocker Sacramento upsets Golden State and may officially put a end to the splash brothers with Green. Despite Brad Daughty and Vin Baker missing some of the series they not only make the playoffs they advance. Haliburton lead the way with 22 points.

Chicago a boring team as they have had the same starting 5 for years with meh results pull off the upset. The backcourt of Ball and Lavine combine for 37. Washington is smiling as the bucks are eliminated.

Philly fights back from 3-1 to force a game 7 then lose big during it. Kyrie Irving was hurt and didn't even play in the series. New York has a balanced and deep roster and it showed with 8 guys in double figures.

Thanks I def earned it and had to make sure I had no distractions when playing. The East is a lot more talented than the West. Tatum missed 20 or so games so that played a big role and them getting the 8th seed. Brown and Tatum are easily the best duo in the league with both getting all nba honors the last few years.

I try to pace out the stars on other teams so most teams have one star type of player.

Year 5 Award Winners

We did a detailed team preview of Toronto which still holds up. They do have a injury of Jeff Hornacek so he will miss the series.

3 Key Matchups
Webber vs Rodman
Webber was a all NBA selection this year with 23 and 14 per game. Rodman draws another tough test after guarding Tatum last round. Washington is fine with him getting 20 and 10 if everyone else is held in check.

Magic vs Barnes
Another A+ defender will guard Magic this time Barnes even more size at 6'8 225. Barnes in the 1st round upped his average from the regular season.

Capela vs Collins
One of the biggest surprises in the league the last 5 years with ratings in the A's in inside scoring, post defense and rebounding. He had 12 and 17 in the regular season and in the playoffs is getting 4 blocks per game. This is why Collins being able to shoot is so huge because he isn't scoring on Clint in the post.

3 Big Questions
Can Dort / Trent be as effective vs Beal as Marcus Smart was?
Both players are A+ defenders and will match up on defense with Beal

Can Toronto hit enough 3's this series?
They shoot 34% from 3 during the regular season and keep that average in the 1st round.

Can Toronto hide Mark Price on the Wizards SF on defense?
For Barnes to guard Magic and the SG spot to take Beal then Mark Price will need to be able to guard the SF spot.

Biggest Need None

Toronto is probaly in the top 5 in the league as far as future young talent goes. They made 2 big trades when they moved Van Vleet and Sikiam and both were brilliant moves. The got Mark Price as the centerpiece from Memphis and Capela from Atlanta. They not only got productive players they picked up some mid-late 1st in those deals adding young players. They also got Dort from OKC a trade thats worked out for both teams.

Weber the former 2nd overall pick is the star here and made all NBA and averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds last year. Barnes is a excellent #2 option with A+ defense, playmaking and athleticism. He filled up the stat sheet with 15-8-7 adding 2 steals and 1 block. I guess we are going to have to put Clint Capela in the star category because he has been one of the better C's in the league. He has averaged 12 points and 15 rebounds with 2 blocks the previous 2 years.

Mark Price has gotten better every year and is the floor general for the team last year getting 16 points and 9 assist. Trent and Dort both A+ defenders provide defense. Hornacek a former late lottery pick is a steady player off the bench.

They are also loaded with youth on the back end of the roster with all of them being former 1st round picks. SG Toscano is the most interesting the 2nd year former 15th overall pick.

They ended up chocking last year dropping from fighting for the 4th seed to the play in the final week of the year. After losing both play in games and missing the playoffs are projection is it will be the final year they miss the playoffs for a long time. They can easily make a big trade, but don't have any needs.

Starting Lineup
PG - Mark Price 79
SG - Gary Trent 81 - Jeff Hornacek 77
SF - Scottie Barnes 84 - Lu Dort 79
PF - Chris Webber 84
C - Clint Capela 83 - Naz Reid

Raptors 2nd Round Recap

Game 1 saw Washington easily win by 24 points. 3-point shooting was a big factor 44% compared to just 27 for Toronto. Webber scored 29 and Clint was at 15 and 19. However Barnes was a non-factor. Collins led the team in scoring with 32 and added 13 rebounds and 6 assist. Beal scored 26 while Magic didn't do much. Two good bench performances were Hurley with 13 and 8 while Vanderbilt 6 and 11 with 2 blocks in just 15 minutes.

Game 2 was another 21-point win by Washington to take a 2-0 lead. Bench points was a big factor 50 compared to just 17. Barnes made up for game 1 with 37-5-4. Webber had a near triple double 25-9-10 with Price getting 13 assist. Magic a little quite still had a triple double with 4 steals. Rodman somehow scored 17 points with just 9 rebounds. The bench points we talked saw Bowen score 20 in just 17 minutes. Rui had 15 and Vanderbilt again with 6 and 9.

The big game 3 saw a tied game at half time. When Toronto rested Barnes in the 3rd quarter it was like injuries bloody seal swimming in front of a shark. He single handily dominated the quarter and the lead was all the way up to 18 when the 4th started. Barnes fouled out in the mid 4th.

Webber again puts up big stats 33 and 15 with Barnes getting 25. Nobody else for Toronto was over 18. Magic was the star despite a slow 1st half with 30-11-13. Collins again was big 24 and 8. Hurley 12 and 7 off the bench. Mo Bamba also returned to the lineup and had 6 points and 9 rebounds in 18 minutes.

The 4th game did see the sweep happen with a 7-point win. Trent led the way tonight with 24 and Webber was off with just 13 yet had 20 rebounds. Beal saw his 1st big game of the series with 37. Magic got off to a slow start again put up a solid 17 points and 13 assist. Rodman was the man on the glass and matched Webber's 20 rebounds.

Wow, a sweep! What a way to get into the ECF for the Wizards, didn't seem like the series was all that close. Hopefully DC gets a good matchup in the conference Finals.

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

I wasn't expecting a sweep vs Toronto as they are a good team. Its backwards where my toughest series was round 1 and then the next 2 each one will be easier. New York and Chicago are 2 sort of boring teams with mostly the same core as real life.

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

ECF Part 1

New York isn't a exciting team they have had the same starting lineup for a long time. It's not as talented as other teams in the East yet they have consistently made the playoffs and won some series. They have some decent young player just none they are expected to be future all stars. Irving is the teams best player, but his stats aren't all star worthy.

Game 1 doesn't go as planned as New York wins by 34 points. Washington doesn't have anyone score over 20 points and NY shoot 50% from 3. R.J Barrett lead the scoring with 22 points and 7 others scored double digits.

Washington as expected comes back and ties the series at 1 with 12-point win. Collins has a big game with 30 points and 12 rebounds and Bowen added 15 off the bench on just 7 shoots. Magic has 26-7-12 as NY doesn't really have anyone to guard him like the previous two teams did. Beal has 21 and 10. Randall and Irving combined for 25 assist with both getting over 10/

Washington wins this one pretty easy 108 to 89 as nobody on NY scored over 17 points. Beal has 22 points with 5 guys scoring between 10 and 15. The bench chipped in as well with Hurley getting 13 assist and Bamba 9 and 11.

Game 4 was a big one and it was close going into the 4th quarter. Then one of those quarters happened where you wanted to throw chairs across the gym. NY shoots 88% from 3 in the 4th and wins the game to tie it up at 2. All 3 of Fournier, R.J and Randall score 20+ with Irving getting 13 assist. It was a big game stat wise for Washington not that it matters. Magic was amazing 29-5-9, Beal 23 and 6 with Collins 22-13-7. They also controlled the board Bamba had 15 and Rodman 17. That didn't matter as NY couldn't miss in the 4th from 3.
