Now that you mention it yea that was to high and should be down a tier with him on the last year of his deal on top of that. Minnesota had a major injury Edwards I believe is out for the year so Russell could be traded if the right deal comes up.

Trade Alert - Part 2

A few more trades most of these smaller ones

Heat Thoughts (29-25, 6th seed
The PF spot is the weakest in the league basically none on the entire roster. Birch can also backup Bam at C as that spot is kind of weak also. The 2nd round pick is helpful as draft picks for them is slim.

Raptors Thoughts (25-30,12th seed)
The glut of PF's on this team is beyond crazy. So they trade a 2nd round pick to move off 7 million in salary next year and still have about 2 more PF's then they need.

Blazers Thoughts (25-29,12th seed
Despite the standings still alive in the playoff race and they add some much needed size for the bench. The trade exception was about to expire, and they pick up a 2nd round pick since he is under contract next year. Theis is good enough to play a few minutes.

Pacers Thoughts (26-29,10th seed)
They now will be armed with a ton of cap space to go shopping in the FA market next year if they choose to. They can give his minutes to a younger player as they try and make the play in games.

Suns Thoughts (29-27,7th seed)
After they made another move to trade for a C Saric was no longer needed. Burks is a great 3 & D wing off the bench capable of starting if need be. A pretty big get for depth on the wing.

Wizards Thoughts (26-29,11th seed
A tricky spot trying to win to make Beal happy yet the 1st they owe is lottery protected. Saric is a upgrade for the bench on a expiring deal and they don't give up any draft picks to do it.

Pistons Thoughts (14-43)
It's full-blown tank mode as they have been hit with injuries on top of Cade's. They get a 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft. Burks at 31 wasn't in the long term plans

Eric Gordon (77 ovr) - Lakers
Corey Jospeph (75 ovr) - Heat
Boban (75 ovr) - 76ers
Reggie Bullock (75 ovr) - Bulls (hit hard by injuries and have a solid record and can get minutes)

studbucket is the mavs GM so those are his moves with me signing off on them from the other teams side.


Mavs Thoughts (29-26, 5th seed)
Dallas makes a big move adding both Bogdanvich and Hayward. The give up a future protected 1st (not shown in the pic) as Hardaway is on a worse contract, shooting 10% worse from 3 and rated lower on defense. Dallas is gambling they can turn Hayward around who is in the middle of a bad season shooting and injury concerns. Luka gets some help here and just lose the 1 draft pick. Getting off Bertans is huge and at worse should be able to shed Haywards salary in the expansion draft.

Hawks Thoughts (28-27, 8th seed)
They get a similar rated player and are banking on it not affecting anything major since it's not a starter. The 1st round pick is to make up for the longer-term contract and worse shooting.

Hornets Thoughts (17-38, 14th seed)
Getting back Bertans isn't ideal, but still your saving 15 million and keep your draft picks. They are one of the worst teams in the league and this confirms they hang on to their 1st which is lottery protected. Not a flashy trade, it's a step back before you go forward a pure $ savings trade.

Mavs Thoughts (29-26, 5th seed)
Another trade here and Dallas can pick up the 16 million option and use as salary matching for next year. Rose upgrades the bench and can play either G spot and the 2nd is years away.

Knicks Thoughts (29-27 7thseed)
A lot of G's on the roster so this opens up minutes for some younger guys as they aren't likely to make a deep playoff run. They also get a small asset with the 2nd.

Suns Thoughts (29-27, 6th seed)
Crowder rubbed everyone the wrong with his holdout and at 32 and the last year of his contract the offers were slim. So they just take the BPA offered in Holmes. He upgrades the backup C spot and is under contract for next year. It gives insurance incase Ayton is moved this offseason.

Kings Thoughts (29-24, 4th seed
They trade away the backup C thinking they can sign a vet in FA to play 12 minutes a game while Sabonis sits. Crowder brings is a vet and can play either F spot. Harris is a expiring and provides depth. I think everyone is rooting for them to finally make the playoffs.

Magic Thoughts (23-32, 13th seed)
Harris wasn't playing so they give him away for the trade exception

Celtics Thoughts (40-14, 1st seed)
The biggest move as Boston is now the title favorites after this trade. They get 2 depth pieces and Oubre being the biggest for some wing defense off the bench. Boston should be able to sign him for a mid-tier salary matching piece this offseason. Plumlee gives them a luxury of a 3rd C with Williams injury history and Al's age. The 1st is lottery protected so can't come back to bite them. Plumlee's overall rating is alot higher then you may expect.

Hornets Thoughts (17-38, 14th seed)
A no brainer move they trade 2 guys on expiring deals for a future 1st round pick. They got a lot worse this trade deadline which was the plan. They now hope to get lucky in the lottery as the cap sheets are looking better.

Shaq Tank - Ranking Coolest Fits

The rumors are true, and we will have more on the draft class later. However, C Shaquelle O'Neal is the top name on most draft boards. We will rank the coolest fits for him amongst the top 8 best odds.

From our intel the 2 expansion teams will be drafting 5/6 so dropping out of the top 4 will be killer.

#1 Magic
Can you imagine the size and length teaming him with Banchro, Bol Bol, Wagner and Isaac it would be legendary. They don't have the $ of Ross, Harris and Bamba anymore and plenty of draft picks. You could easily move Fultz and Wendall Carter to reshape the G situation. Cole and Suggs are a good start at G and it's a reunion.

#2 Raptors
The most talented team on here so likely will not move up to #1. The frontcourt with Barnes, O.G, Siakam would be a good one maybe even a overkill. The cap situation and draft picks aren't the best so more of a win now team. Some big player options from G's so could be costly team. They would be good on defense right away.

#3 Trailblazers
Teaming Shaq with Lillard would be the most fun duo on this list. Could Shaq finally get a ring for Lillard after his loyalty ? The supporting cast isdecent with Simons, Grant, Hart and the youngster Sharpe. Nurkic you could trade away to maybe get some FA $.

#4 Pistons
Cade and Shaq would clearly be story here then you just have to figure out the 2/3 spots. Because Bey, Bogdanovich, Stewart would be perfect big's to go around Shaq with their shooting. A little light on G depth so Jaden Iveys development would be key. You could trade Bagley and maybe get some FA $.

#5 Hornets
Just like Detroit the PG combo would be a good one with Ball. They shed some $ at the deadline still FA's aren't likely to be running to Charolotte. They just drafted Mark Williams last year so he likely would have to go at some point. They would need work at the 2-3 spots as Rozier may be traded. Its unsure if Bridges will be able to return. Its looking like Kai Jones and Bouknight will be busts.

#6 Rockets
Feels like a team just thrown together without a plan so would need GM Bubba's magic touch. The best thing for them is cap space and future draft picks. A lot of you pieces on this roster remember only 8 can be kept in the expansion draft. They are many to go over and Senqun might not fit Longterm. Jalen Green would be the key player to watch and if he becomes a star.

#7 Spurs
Basically, a clean slate they have extra 1st round picks and the most cap space in the league. However, the young guys aren't ready to compete in the league and none of them elite prospects and Primo isnt around anymore. They would be bad for at least 1 year of development maybe 2.

#8 Thunder
They are the easiest pick with all the young players and draft picks. They have the all star SGA and cap space and need a stud C. We don't like to go easy so we rank them last and hope they don't move up.

Year 1 Champions

Boston wins the championship and are now the team to beat the next 3 years. They just lost 2 games and none in the ECF or Finals. The mid-season trade bringing in Oubre and Plumlee paid off.

2 New Expansion Teams Confirmed

Something that has been rumored for years is finally a reality they are 2 new expansion teams headed to the NBA.

They are the Nashville Outlaws which gets the name from the old country music style of yesteryear. They colors are brown and black with a guitar logo. They will join the Southeast.

The 2nd team is a international team the Cozumel Cruisers which gets the name from being one of the most popular cruise destinations. The entered a partnership with Royal Caribbean and will use their upcoming ship as the logo. They color and jerseys are a little bolder then Nashville's.

The expansion draft will happen soon and teams can protect up to 8 players. This will hurt teams like OKC, Memphis, Houston the most who have had a lot of draft picks lately. It will give exisiting teams a chance to shed some bad contracts. However, they aren't expected to draft any players with long term $ unless they are useful.
