Regarding the GK ability, I've been playing with 42/42 and I've been having a fair number of goals every game. My scorelines from last night were 4-1, 2-0, 1-1, 3-2, 2-1 and 2-2. I've seen my fair share of GK parries as well as some human errors like Romero misjudging the flight of a ball on a cross. Just wondering if lowering this value alters the CPU game-play in anyway? I play 15 minutes, World Class on Slow.

Also with respect to fouls, I remember last week there was a theory that playing on Normal induces more fouls - are folks still playing on Normal or Slow? Personally I've noticed that number of fouls is more to do with the referee and play style. I've found Stuart Atwell and Graham Scott call a fair number of fouls on the CPU in the PL, both on Normal and Slow. I've had multiple penalties being called playing with these guys as well.

In other news, I was messing around with getting the user's defensive line more in tune with the attack.

Did the following:

Raised User marking to 50; changed user's CTT pressure and aggression to 70. CPU's play-style changed quite a bit. They stopped just sending the ball directly to the forward, so I even caught them in possession multiple times.

May be something to look into as a work-around. This has been the one issue that I have been working on for the last couple days. Might stream tonight, we will see. Would love to be able to find a slider-based value that can get this working though.

I've been experimenting with the OP slider set over the last 2 episodes of my career, Ep8 I used Matt's Beta set (since removed from the OP list, the one with HLW changes etc.) with mixed results, then I tried a variation in Ep8 of the current OP sliders with PS set to 42/35 again with some success but not 100% happy...

Then I tried the OP set with the BetaV3 changes for Ep10 (played but yet to be uploaded), and wow this current iteration is almost there! Tough battles thru the midfield, goals are hard to get (some low scoring games so far) but great intensity far more rewarding to score now! CPU has real menace, presses my backline and attacks with purpose!!

Episodes 8 & 9 below, 10 will be uploaded probably over the weekend.

I signed four players in January. One of them got the broken ankle. All the other main injuries are for my original players.

It is all very hit and miss with the injury sliders and youíre right, I guess over the course of a whole season it probably does even out. Just a pi$$er when youíre getting in a groove for the promotion push as the season heads towards May.

Shockingly bad the injuries (again) this year. Haven't totted mine up yet but as you know, so far Gignac is looking at 10 months out in his first season (combined) plus 3 weeks out for Payet and some minor knocks all in the 1st half of season 1...this does not seem normal to me, especially after seeing your injury stats!

EDIT another thought...as we all strive to create a more realistic game with the sliders, including more physical battles, tackles, fouls etc. should not the injury sliders be adjusted accordingly? Just my thoughts regarding this issue.

Yes I agree that something must be amiss again regards injuries. Up until Dec 31 I thought, this is ok, Iíve had the odd muscle injury for two weeks or bruised whatever for a few days etc but then boom! Jan comes and I start getting hit big time.

Weíll see what prevails from now until the end of the season.

Heaven. The custom team tactics are the thing that has saved this game from being FIFA 17, 16, 15, and so on as they never worked in the past. This year they finally do and that is a reason many are seeing so many different things with similar slider settings. Been preaching on the Aggression tactic and how important it has been for fouls, defensive shape, and more, but like Matt has seen, it is also important for how the other teams offense will respond. This may be one of the most important settings for the game this year period.

We have fought for years trying to fix the games flaws with sliders only. Now I think we have the tools we really need to get more out of the game. They will not solve everything, but we really need to explore them more and get a better idea for adjustments as the numbers EA has programmed are certainly not ideal to get teams playing as they should.
