Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
Ended up restarting my Yankees franchise with OSFM/FM19. The ‘best OSFM ever’ stuff kinda got me lol. Guess if I plan to carry it over in the future it makes sense to have the best minors roster. Thought about replaying all the games but I decided to ‘cheat’ a bit on the play every game thing and just quick manage back to where I was, April 16th. At least I was still controlling all player usage. Roster is basically the same. Only difference is I traded Gio Gonzales to the Pirates and signed Keuchel to be our #5 instead. Was fair and took the worst player in their organization I could find in return. We ended up having to give him 11M to avoid committing to him beyond 1 season.
At April 22nd now, record is 15-6. Swept the 2 game series vs Boston and split a 4 game set with KC. That’s good for 1st place in the AL East, with Tampa trailing by 3.5 and Boston in 3rd 5.5 behind. Next up is a road trip out west to face the Angels, Giants, and Diamondbacks.
Stories From Around The League:
Angels Off To Blazing Hot Start
Angels are off to a 17-6 start, already amassing a 5 game lead in the AL West.
Ronald Acuna Jr Out For Season
Young Braves Star Ronald Acuna’s second season is already over as he tore his Achilles tendon. Crushing news for Braves fans, who won’t see their rookie of the year award winner back until 2020.
Braves Season In Danger Early?
The Braves season could not have started much worse, as they have dug themselves a massive hole to get out of with a record of 3-19. A lot of baseball left to play, but you have to wonder if they’ll ever be able to recover if they don’t turn it around fast. They already sit 13.5 games out of first in the NL East.
Which OSFM are you talking about? There’s so many in the vault.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
There is only one real one, the rest are either fakes or people trying to take credit for and steal work from others. The real one isn’t actually called OSFM anymore. If you want to download the real one it’s called Full Minors 19 under the PSN ‘RidinRosters’. If you sort by most downloads it should be one of the first rosters that comes up. Always a bunch of fake ones every year.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
This 1B bug is killing it. I have been fighting tooth and nail for every win this year which is amazing, but when I loose due to a glitch it really doesn’t sit well. Got a brilliant spot start from Reid-Foley against LA and was up 3-0 against the Angels. Phelps managed to load the bases with two outs. Got a ground ball to 1B and Gurriel (defensive sub) fielded it cleanly and walked past the bag to the dugout. Next play same thing! Another nicely fielded ball and then glitches past the bag 3-2. Managed to get the last out next play.
9th inning with two out Giles walks Cozart on a full count when the ball was fully in the lower corner of the strike zone! Calhoun then drives a walk off homer down the line and I lose 4-3. Can’t believe how pissed off I am at this! I even pushed the stick in the direction of the bag rather than pressing O as advised in other forums.
Now I’m looking at another sweep rather than looking to win the series. The hole continues to grow for unnecessary reasons. I really hope it gets patched next update!
Sorry Rant over.

I feel your pain. Pushing the stick to run my 1st baseman to the bag has been working for me but I had to learn the hard way. Gave up several hits from pressing O button and having my 1B stroll to the dugout the first week of the game.
Needs to be fixed.

I only learned about the O button recently but before I knew about the glitch then it happened to me the first time today. Trying to remember to use stick only again.

Just the trade engine, realistic trades with 30 team control is way above my head and patience lol.
BUT I am all ears for recommendations on both trade engine and realistic trades lolComment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
First off, I'd sell off Melancon and Samardzija. The game actually values them, and, without being around my PS4, I'm pretty confident the return would be overwhelmingly positive, plus you'll get that money off the books to sign some other guys to fill holes. If you're not in a hurry, I'd probably move Cueto as well. I'm pretty sure you could get a couple of high potential mid 70's players (Maybe a pitcher and an outfielder?).
If you get rid of those guys, sign Keuchel and/or Kimbrel (They're both massively underpriced as FA's once you start your season, fill in some holes with some other veteran FA's, you'll end up having a boatload of money to chase the 2019 free agent class, which could have Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rendon, Marcell Ozuna, Scooter Gennett, Puig and Francisco Cervilli (Amongst others). Not as good as chasing Machado/Harper, but not too bad nonetheless.
Not realistic, but a pretty quick way to fix that team.
If you ever consider doing 30 team (It sounds scary, but it's actually super simple and you can do as much or as little as you want when it comes to controlling the other 29 teams), there's a great trade thread where realistic trades are discussed. https://forums.operationsports.com/f...iscussion.html2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
Diamondbacks @ Cubs
Game 1: Cubs find themselves down 4-2 in the 9th. Willson Contreras draws a leadoff walk. Jason Heyward triples him home and the Cubs are back in business! 2 more walks and the bases are loaded for Kris Bryant. His patience pays off and he draws the bases loaded walk to tie the game at 4! We're going to extra innings where the Cubs have not really done well this season, but Albert Almora sent the Wrigley faithful home happy with a 10th inning single to drive in the winning run! Cubs take the opener!
Cubs win 5-4
Game 2: What a pitchers duel between Zach Greinke and Yu Darvish. Through 8 innings, D'backs have 3 hits, Cubs have 2. Cubs would plate a run in the bottom of the 8th and take game 2!
Cubs win 1-0
Game 3: Cubs going for the sweep, which has eluded them so far this Season! Jon Lester on the mound vs Robbie Ray. Cubs jump out to lead with a run in the first. D'backs get 1 in the 3rd and the pitchers really settle in. Top of the 8th, Lester still dealing, then Nick Ahmed homers to give Arizona the late lead 2-1! Bottom of the 8th Willson Contreras comes through with a 2 run double and Lester goes the distance for the win! He is now 4-0 on the season with a 1.55 era!
Cubs Sweep 3-2
News & Notes: The Cubs Anthony Rizzo is really struggling at the plate so far this season. Hitting .183 with 0 HRs and 0 rbi through 21 games. When asked about his struggling first baseman, Manager Joe Maddon responded " We have all the faith in the world in Anthony, he's going through a tough time right now as some hitters do in April, but we are confident he will break out of this, and when he does, watch out!"
The Cubs made a roster move after the D'backs series, sending catcher Victor Caratini down to AAA Iowa and Calling up Catcher Francisco Arcia. Maddon said " We need to get Victor some more AB's on a regular basis. He's not really getting a chance here with Contreras getting a majority of the workload". Maddon was also asked about Ian Happs hot bat down in AAA(54 AB 4HR 15RBI .339 AVG). "We need to see Ian hit like he is right now on a more consistent basis, trust me, we're seeing what he's doing down there, it won't be long until he's back up here."

My friend, it's a very hard ledge to come back from. I can't in good conscious suggest that you switch to the Yankees though. You go from being the trash birds to joining the most evil empire known to man!
To be fair, I've been picking at my Marlins franchise, but keep switching back to the Jays.
Always gotta go 30 team though. Wayyyyyy too much CPU AI stupidity. Would you ever consider re-starting your O's chise with 30 team on?
Trash birds? Interesting. Must be a yankees fan [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Hey if Melancon and Samardzija keep up what they’ve been doing so far they actually will be worth something! Melancon in particular has been lights out.Last edited by GoDucks1224; 04-25-2019, 11:09 PM.Comment
