The Devil's make a major move right before the deadline acquiring Andy Pages and Diego Cartaya for Joey Gallo, Mike Foltynewicz, Eugene Keller. This massive move gives the Devil's their starting catcher and Right Fielder for the future. The Dodgers get even more dangerous with the Gallo acquisition and get a solid 4 5 in the rotation which they desperately need. The Devil's will be acquiring a future ace at the deadline as the team has fallen out of contention.

Luis Castillo has been a huge disappointment since acquiring him at the beginning of the year with a 5.00 Era and wanted to shake things up. Both Arroyo and Scott haven't been great either. The Yankees are in first place and they acquired a guy who could turn it all around in New York and slot in behind Cole as a solid number two. They also get Arroyo a solid bench bat and another Lefty for their pen. For the Devil's they get their future Left fielder and a potential ace.

The Mets bats are showing signs of waking up after scoring 8 and 7 runs in consecutive games vs the Padres to take 2 of 3 in their series, they got 6 RBIs out of Brandon Nimmo and Starling Marte in the 1 and 2 spot in today’s game as they sit 1.5 games up on Atlanta. In other team news Jacob deGrom has begun a rehab assignment in St Lucie and is expected to join the team sometime in New York during the next home stand after their current west coast trip concludes

        2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 07/07-07/10

Overall Record:53-38 (2nd NL West, 1.5 GB from LA Dodgers)

Diamondbacks find a way to split four game series with Colorado

The Rockies won the first two games of the four game series against the Diamondbacks 8-4 and 8-3. At the time, those two losses brought Arizona's overall July record to 2-6 and trending in the wrong direction.

Zack Davies won his 11th game of the season in game three as he pitched a complete game shutout, his first of the season. Arizona won the game 3-0 behind Davies' performance and home runs by Pavin Smith and Ketel Marte.

Sunday's finale saw Corbin Martin make his first start of the season, filling in for injured Zac Gallen. Martin's eight punchouts of Colorado hitters was the most by a Diamondback starter so far in the month of July.

Ketel Marte's three homeruns in the series brought his total on the year to 26 which leads the NL (Matt Olson and Manny Machado are tied for second with 24) and puts him just three behind the MLB leader, Mike Trout (29). The 26 homeruns has Marte just six away from his career high of 32 in 2019.

Speaking of career highs, Carson Kelly has already surpassed his career high in HRs and RBIs as he currently has 21 HRs and 52 RBIs which has surpassed his 2019 totals of 18 and 47.

Arizona will hope to get a bit of a winning streak going as they travel to California for a pair of three game series. First against San Francisco (49-40) and then San Diego (53-38) before teams have a bit of rest for the All Star Break.

Whats the best and fastest ways to develop players I'm the minors? Just playing the games and setting the training to what I would like to see them improve?

I’m utterly screwed. I can’t hit at all. I just got swept by the Indians in a 4-game set (same one they’re playing now) and then I watch the real team today and omg they can’t hit at all and I know if I fire the game up I’m going to lose bad. Have lost five straight already. 27-27.
            Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Starting a fun long term goal, created a Cleveland super team of prospects starting out in AA that I'll try to keep together as long as possible

Going with a line up of

              CF Petey Haplin, 19
              SS Bryan Rocchio, 21
              LF George Valera, 21
              C Bo Naylor, 22
              1B Nolan Jones, 23
              DH Jhonkensy Noel, 20
              3B Jose Tena. 21
              2B Angel Martinez, 20
              RF Alexfri Planez, 20

              Rotation

              Gavin Williams, 22
              Daniel Espino, 21
              Tanner Bibee, 22
              Logan Allen, 23
              Rodney Boone, 21

The vast majority of Clevelands top 20 prospects. Plan on playing 5, maybe 10, sim 5 maybe 10 to make sure they can still produce stats. If the whole team is going great I'll probably move them all up to AAA half way through, but trying to keep them either all in AA for the 22 season and then figure it out from there on either to play a 23 season at AAA with the group or Start working most to the majors.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Mixed Reviews with Twins' 2022 Draft
The Twins motto for the 2022 First-Year Player Draft was "Power Arms and Power Bats." While they seemed to follow this motto, many experts believe this was not the correct approach, while some feel they did quite well.

With their first pick (9th overall) they took shortstop Bobby Woodson, a 21-year old out of Iowa. The 6'0 170 lb. right-handed hitter, has great speed and power, but most are almost certain that he won't be able to stick at short.

In the second round, Minnesota went with more power and took a chance on 20-year old outfielder Nick Davis out of Michigan. He also runs well, but he might have too much swing and miss to play at the next level.

The Twins went with a power arm in the third round, taking a 5'11 right-hander in Martin Coronado from New York. The 21-year old has a fastball that reaches 96 and is developing a devastating high-80's slider.

They went to the mound again in the fourth round, taking another right-hander in Venezuelan Kevin Garcia. Just 19, Garcia sits in the low-90's but has a MLB-ready changeup in his arsenal.

They went back to the plate in round 5, taking a shot at 6'5 first baseman Trent Linn. Linn is just 18-years old, and is an opposing figure in the box with good power and a slick glove.

The Twins went back to the pitching side of things to round out their draft, grabbing 19-year old in right-hander Ira Wellington. His fastball-slider-changeup combo had high schoolers in Ohio looking foolish all spring.

Time will tell if this draft will pay off for Minnesota, just as it does every other year for every other team.

You can't really speed up the process, but usually putting them in AA and set training and then just play or sim games.

Interesting that in my first off season, the Nationals ended up landing Aaron Judge. So they have Soto and Judge. I edited one of them to switch to LF since they're both originally RF's. Another benefit of 30 team control.

Calendar Flips to June as the Twins sweep Detroit

Minnesota finished out May and started June with a 4-game sweep of the first-place Tigers in Detroit, bringing the Twins within just 2 1/2 games of being in first place themselves.

Monday night, the Twins scored five runs in the ninth to erase a 6-3 deficit, winning 8-6 and getting the wheels off and running. Carlos Correa drove in four on the night and Tyler Duffey earned save number 17 on the year.

With all the momentum, Minnesota had a rather convincing 6-2 win on Tuesday night. Nick Gordon drove in four and Joe Ryan (3-5) went six strong innings.

The train kept rolling on Wednesday, as the Twins dismantled the Tigers 12-3 scoring five in the sixth, three in the seventh, and adding two more in the ninth. Gordon had his second straight four-RBI night, and Kyle Garlick also added four RBI's to the mix. Bailey Ober (1-0) made his 2022 debut, going six strong allowing two runs.

On Thursday afternoon, the Tigers erased a 4-0 deficit with a five-run sixth inning, but Minnesota score one in the 8th and two more in the 11th to beat the Tigers 7-5 in 11 innings and complete the rare four-game road sweep. The Twins pounded out 15 hits and three homeruns in the game, lead by once again Nick Gordon with three hits. The Twins' bullpen allowed one unearned run and just three hits over five and two-thirds innings, with Jhon Romero (1-0) picking up win number one of the year.

The Twins head to Toronto for a weekend three-game against the Blue Jays. They will see former Twin Jose Berrios on Friday night while Chris Paddack gets the rock for Minny.

At least he went to a team that spends money. A few years ago I was using rosters that didn’t have the Mookie Betts extension and after the season he left the Dodgers for…the big spending Rays

Mariners get some late inning help from Steven Souza Jr to push them to victory over the Angels in early Spring Training action. Mariners pitchers kept the duo of Trout and Ohtani to just 1-6. Trout w/3K’s.

The Devil's make another massive trade acquiring Mackenzie Gore and a minor leaguer for Tim Anderson, Adam Eaton and a minor leaguer. Padres sit two games out of the division and they had to make a move to keep up with the Dodgers. Tim Anderson and Adam Eaton were both having career years and made sense to flip for a potential ace in the rotation.
