I've been using the Nationals this season and have a blast with them thus far - young team, good hitting (power) and so-so pitching. I'm looking forward to building a competitive team for a few years. And I really enjoy playing at Nationals Park - although I have a better record on the road.

What about a Oakland franchise they are a bottom level team that would be fun what do you guys think about them? BIG BALL PARK!!!!!!!!!! I played one game with them last night and and scored 3 in the 8th and won 3 to 0 over the mariners . OAKLAND has great pitching for a younger team and not a ton of power may need to get me a big bat if i played with them?

So, between now and the trade deadline, I'll be looking to move Chone Figgins (doing really well so I can get value for him), Milton Bradley (started strong but fading fast), Miguel Olivo, Jack Cust and Eric Bedard.

Oak-Town! Yeah, that was my AL team of choice! Plus they have those awesome yellow jerseys! And as you mentioned, good young pitching staff!

Your setup seems similar to mine; strong pitching and a "good enough" offense. Must have made a lot of trades, unless you are on year two or something. Congrats on getting this far.

Dude My first year with the M's was hard but I stuck with it. You can get a good deal trading figgins and i traded Ichiro away which i know is suicide for M's fans but i got 2 A and 1 B porspects. signed troy glaus and david ortiz to let smoak advance one more year and then i traded the king for jake peavy, mark burhle, and a B prospect but that was to make some money room

Having a great time in my Reds franchise. I just finished the first interleague series at Cleveland and won 2 of 3 which is a good start to a 10 game road trip that includes 3 at Cleveland, 4 at Philly, and 3 at Atlanta before coming home to Milwaukee. I have a 3.5 game lead over the Brewers with some tough games coming up. Went 9-1 in my last 10 before losing the last game in Cleveland and the first at Philly. This is the only game I have ever played where you can play almost 50 games and you never have any idea what the outcome can be. Love it!!

Swept the Marlins in the NLCS to face the Rangers/Red Sox in the World Series.
Miguel Montero was my MVP for the NLCS because he hit 4 HRs with 10 RBI, with a .353 BA.
                    Kemp for NL MVP

Jeter is one hit away from 3,000 the reason why he hasn't gotten yet is because he got hurt for about a month and a half with 5 hits remaining, since he has come back he has been on a slump his batting average went from .302 to around .285.

Robinson Cano is my only starter batting over .300. Jeter is at .285 everyone else is in the .270's and lower.

It's a very intense season first time ever I'm in a race this close, first time ever I'm not batting .300 as a team and I am loving it, it is the most fun I have ever had playing a franchise, being this close actually gives me reason to play games even more, gives me reason to actually make trades and moves on the roster. Every game means something I love it. Hopefully I can finish two to three or maybe even more seasons before I buy the next game, heck if I keep having this much fun I may not even buy the next Show right when it comes out might wait a while

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

57-48 with my Giants, 0.5 ahead of Rockies for 1st place, 3.5 ahead of the Dodgers, and I think the D-Backs are about 5 out. Since the All-Star break, my bats have really went dead. I play with the real Giants roster, so I don't make moves unless the Giants make them. Here's hoping we can get a Beltran or Pence.

Anyways, out of the AS break I took 2/3 from the Dodgers, then got swept by Milwaukee at home (all close games where I couldn't get the big hit), and then got 1/3 from Philly, which I should have got at least 2 if not for literally throwing the game away. I really needed it too, I put a lot of focus into this series (had to face Lee/Oswalt/Hamels).

Game 3, up 3-1 in the 8th, 1 out, I'm set up for a DP to get out the inning and flick the stick to 2nd, and then flicked to 1st but I started the motion too early and it never went to 2nd, it went to 1st instead and I threw it over his head. Now runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out still. I strike Howard out with Lopez, then walk a guy. I bring Wilson in, bases loaded, 2 outs, up 3-1 still, on a 2-2 count, I get Francisco to hit a weak chopper and I come in with Wilson to field it, and then throw that over the 1B's head, 2 runs score. Gload comes next as a PH and blats a 3-run HR on a 0-1 high fastball to make it 6-3.

Man, I was BEYOND frustrated, still am. I get a bad feeling just thinking about it. I rarely ever throw errors, and then for that to happen twice, it's crazy. I gotta take a couple days break or something, as tempted as I am to play I just don't think I can turn that game on for a minute. Someone make me feel better about this, am I the only one who has done this?

                              New York Mets(18-3)
                              Game 21
                              Polo Grounds-Game attendance 50,452

After sweeping the Astros, the now second place(they have lost 4 in a row) D-Backs visit New York for a 3 game series.
Jordan Huff(1-2) took the hill for the Mets vs. Richard Clayton(1-2) for the D-Backs. Clayton has pitched well for Arizona in his first two games, but has been the victim of poor run support.
Huff, while probably the Mets best chance for a 20K game for the Mets is also the best chance for a 20 BB game for the Mets.....and he was true to form vs. Arizona.
Inning 1 saw him throw 38 pitches ....walking 3 and giving up a 2 run homerun and striking out the side. He never gave the Mets offense a chance to catch up as he gave up runs in the 2nd/3rd and 4th innings before hitting the clubhouse for good for the day.
The Met offense didn't help the cause as Clayton shut down the potent bats for just 5 hits over 8 innings and just one run.
6-1 was the final...game two tomorrow night.

Im in year 1 of my franchise with Milwaukee Brewers. I play one game a week which has worked out good for me as I am going to be able to play through multiple seasons. I am currently in September and am in a wild card chase. I am 1 game back from the braves. Anyways here are some interesting facts that has happened to me so far...

                                - Jose Bautista was put on waivers by the Jays....I didnt pick him up cuz it would have been very unrealistic
                                - got offered a trade from the Rockies(Dexter Fowler,John Maine, and Rafeal Beatencourt) I accepted it because it was a pretty fair trade, as i gave up alot to get those 3(two A rated prospects and 1 B rated prospect)
                                - The St louis Cards are stacked and there record so far is 80-58...they traded for Ben Zobriest for a prospect...Pujols has been an absolute beast so far....375 avg, 54 HRs, and 125 RBI.....He has killed me every time i play against him averaging a homer per game against me

I think that this is our best chance to make the playoffs because Feilder is going to be a free agent at the end of this year, and i feel that it will be very hard to keep him... I will update after our next game
