Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders

Does how hard you push up on the R-stick have anything to do with anything? Is the mapping pressure sensitive so that the faster you move the stick, the faster the swing? I can't imagine this would be the case. I try to just swing the bat (R-stick) with a nice and easy pace, and I really do not want to have to go crazy on the R-stick to make the ball get hit harder. Any confirmation or testing as to how fast the stick gets moved doing anything with regards to power.

    I hope not.

But yeah, like I said, at least an hour, maybe more, and nobody could get the ball over the fence. I tried it with the L-stick, without touching it at all, straight up, wherever, and the team has absolutely no power to hit a homerun.

    Something is amiss.

I agree, i did the exact same thing and then switched to classic and actually hit homeruns. But i saw how you told Joe to go into practice with the sliders and try it, I dont think sliders are implimented in practice which is a problem. Pretty sure if you put the power at 0 or 100 it wont matter cause sliders are not used for practice, just my opinion.

No, i think you can test settings within the practice, but I will try going from 0-100 and see what happens.

          Hey Joe,

Tell me what you think of this thread:

Thinking of modding your sliders to accomodate zone hitting. Any tips, suggestions, sliders for that?

Sliders are definitely affected in practice. I have downloaded most of the popular sliders on 2kShare and there is a noticable difference in practice mode.

I think most people are trying to up just the power slider and see results. In addition, you need to up the quality hit slider to see the ball come off the bat better.

Guys I'm really busy @ work today hence why I haven't been here. Still busy but wanted to see what's going-on. As I suspected me moving the Pitch Success Slider up to 75 has cause the CPU Pitchers to throw more strikes than before.

It looks like it's also made it a little harder to generate offense. I'm thinking to compensate moving it back to either 25 or 40 & putting Pitch Zone back to 50.

As for Power, I'm getting HR's but it could it be due to using the Yanks with the settings as is. I do use the L-STICK to influence the possibility o hitting a HR, but timing it & getting good wood are important.

I think if I when I move the AI Pitch Success Slider back down people will see better results.

1 thing I forgot to mention is if you've downloaded V2 already, I forgot to change the Fatigue Setting down to 50 as in my 1st post.

For now try these settings & see if the Offense picks up:

Human Hitting: Success: 40 Contact: 40 Power: 60
              AI: Success: 50 Contact 35 Power: 65

Move the AI Pitch Success Slider down to 40..

Please post results.. I don't want to update to 2k share until we have a solid set base & from the looks of it we are almost there

                That was my first question.

Second question - Can I load these mid franchise?

I made a edit in my last post. You should leave the User Success Sliders @ 40 & change the other's as suggested.

I'm pretty sure if you can't LOAD them mid-franchise, you can change them when you fire-up your franchise & then save them once you play a game.

It could be that I really suck, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Other than the lack of power, these sliders gave me a pretty good game.
I too have been devoid of power, but am eager to use the updated sliders. I had 7 hits last night w/ the Phillies, all singles. Two of which were by Ryan Howard, and went opposite field...

Joe - Why do we need to set from Legend if we download them, and they're already set? Does it have anything w/ being able to unlock cards because I noticed that w/ your sliders I got a message saying "cards are disabled", and that I need to play on a setting @ PRO or higher.

I think the batting power should be lowered a little more. I played against a friend just now and I put the contact, power, and success down to 30 and we still scored a ton of runs. I won 22-17, and we're pretty much new to this series. I hit 9 home runs with Mets and he had 11 with the Yankees.
