Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I’m max height max weight on a post scorer and still have trouble VS elite ones.
If they have a higher posterizer badge they still trigger those standing dunks from other the rim and you can’t really defend it if you don’t block it.
But you’ll be just fine against 95% of post players in 2k

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
so the trend is still towards going max height/weight on centers?
when 2k18 came out everyone was going max height/weight on centers since you won't suffer under big deficites in speed at park
did they patched this allready? i mean, is there any incentive in creating a shorter, more realistic center meanwhile?
i dont like to play nba games as a giant, but if i create a 7'0 center and go to park, i won't be sucessfull...Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I'm trying to figure out what type of SF I want to make. At first, I wanted to make a point forward or a mismatch player like a Slashing Shot Creator or Slashing Post Scorer. But I kind of want to do a 3pt shooter. I don't want to be a pure 3pt shooter. I created one last year but didn't like it because too slow and last year badges meant more than ratings.
What's a good build to mix with 3pt? Besides Shot Creator, I don't really want to be a offense only playerComment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I kinda conditioned myself to go straight for the putback/tip in instead of the more traditional way of snagging and going back up with it since getting putback king on gold. Its situational obviously, but I was getting blocked like that a lot too so I had to figure a way around that stupid animation.Comment

Do you use shot stick or the shot button? I find pulling the stick away like a teardrop after the pump helps. My guy usually puts up a pretty quick hook shot but will sometimes do a really weird looking fade so you gotta catch yourself and pass out of that.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I chose Shot Creator as a secondary for my Center mainly due to Mid Range Deadeye. But I'm thinking that badge is worthless. I had to do countless drills to get Bronze because prior to last 2 games, i probably only hit 4-5 mid range in 1st 19 games. I had the badge for 10 or so games. Even when i hit a contested Mid range shot, the badge never popped up. Sucks that my Mid Range may max out to 77-78 at that.
But what might help with my Mid Range shot is that I just nearly maxed my 3pt since it was cheaper since i have low max. I think my max 3pt would be 66-68., but having a low 3pt around 39 really affects deep mid shots. As a center who has no plays ran towards him besides a occassional post play, only open mid shots I get are Deep 2s or 13-16 FT Mid Shots off of Pick and Pop. Too bad my center doesnt have Pick and Pop badge. I would have to do any progress to Post badges in drills in practices. I think my Post ratings max under 70.
So I definitely know now Shot Creator isn't a good secondary build for a big unless you have Post as a Primary. But, I would rather go pure post than Post/SC because SC doesn't add anything extra. Post already has a decent Mid Range. So all it would really add is Tireless Shots, Difficult Shots, and Mid Range Deadeye if it already doesn't.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Just wanna share some post scoring tips I got from streaking with a pretty good shot creator on the 2s.
When you post up and you spin seems to not be working try doing it again but first backing up. The spin seems to grant better animations if you arent engaged with a defender when you do it. This is really good against defenders who dont jump on fakes and hold their hands straight up. Also it makes you look fast if you do a few in a row.
Also dribble IN THE PAINT. Dont be afriad to get ripped. I was getting ALOT of dudes to bite when I faced up pulled back and dribble once or twice before doing a post move
Utilize your post hop shot 300% more than you probably are now. This is my favorite move I stole from the shot creator SG I was playing with. He was DESTROYING dudes with this. Hed do it if he got in traffic and hed string an up and under with it and it was great. Then he also did alot of side stepbacks, into up and unders that got him wide open.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
It depends, like I said its really situational. Usually if you go for the tip in you're already in good position to grab the board anyway. I use a sharpshooting rebounder at 6'11 PF on park and I could get it pretty consistently but most of the time I kick out for the open 3. For some reason the only time I see people attempt a putback its when they are nowhere near the paint flying in grabbing air, sometimes they would get the board but throw up a brick. I don't even count those as tip ins cause those will never go in. I really only do it if its a short bounce off the rim and Im already boxing the guy off the boards.Comment
