I will say without a doubt that two way rebounders are my biggest issue. They rebound so many misses and play such great defense. When i see any other build come on i honestly laugh. Not a pure athletic not a sharp athletic, not a glass cleaner but the two way rebounder is a top 3 big man build this year.

The rebounding takes it over the top for me. The combo of speed and defense and dunking is also a huge problem. Then if you play with. PG with HOF dimer you can hit 3s too. I always have to use every single move i have to score on them. My saving grace is usually they are light weight so i can bully them. If i ever played a 340 pound two way rebounder idk how I’d react

I recently got my sharpshooting reb PF to a 90 to join my 93 ovt two way shot creator.

So now I’m thinking of getting my two way rebounder (78) to a 90. He’s a beast defensively and on the boards. But I can only score on putbacks with him and maybe a few mid ranges . That’s what bugs me.

Moreover, I’ve seen some that really wreak havoc on the rest of the team racking up steals and blocks with their ability to rotate quicker.

That said, I can eat them on boards and I don’t generally find them hard to defend in the half court. If they can shoot the mid range at a decent clip, they can at least keep me honest and maybe burn me on the odd drive or cut. But most just seem to try to posterize me endlessly and end up going 4/11 or something.

Yeah my main is a max size Two-Way Rebounder. I average 13 pts, 15 Rebs, 5 asts, 2.3 Blks and 1 Stl a game on .730 shooting in walk on. I’ve had some close calls with a quad double. I feel like I’m a real problem on Def for teams. I also lead the game in rebounds probably 19 games out of 20.

Like Rockie said though, I’m pretty limited on offence. No relentless finisher and sometimes I feel like almost anyone standing around the basket can make me miss, although I do trigger the odd instant dunk. Because of that, I’m pretty selective with my shots and I kick out a lot of offensive rebounds despite HoF putbacks. I’ve been trying to work in a bit of mid range into my game because a lot of bigs don’t cover me very closely and cheat to the paint.

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

Before I had any clue what I was doing, I made a Two way playmaker pg that is 6'7". Almost completed the 1st regular season with the bucks, and he's a stats king. He's 77 overall now. I can get a triple double pretty easily on 8 minute quarters whenever I want. I also seem to have really good endorsement deals based on what I've seen online.

I've only used this guy on playground to do the 5 Gatorade games for that achievement. He doesn't seem to have much potential for playground (I'd like to start trying to play in this mode)

So I'm thinking about creating a second build and use the pg to farm VC to level up the new build. Basically completely stop investing in the 77 build. Will I get the same rewards and playing time in season 2 if I stop leveling him after 77?

Is this a good strategy? Am I missing something. I'd like to make a pure stretch five bc I played against one and thought it was a beat build that offered a different style than most others ran.

Stretch 5s are very weak. You're much better off having 2 solid rebounders and 2 solid shooters than any advantage a stretch gives you. Plus, anyone can hit wide open like most bigs will be who sit outside.

Maybe i didn't use the right terminology when o said playground. I mean the 3 on 3 and 2 on 2 games. Maybe I meant the park.

                  I disagree

When i see a stretch 5 against me i jump for joy. That’s like the one build that cannot play post D at all. Your gonna have to hit most of your 3s to offset the worthless defense for that to be a good 2s build. Just right before i typed this i put 7/8 on one on 2s and i only missed because i shot a 3

Video I said id do yesterday

If you are on a mobile device tap the arrow in the top left corner. That will take you to the video.

As you can see i love attacking from triple threat on the perimeter with my pure post and the post hops are definitely underused by the 2k community. You literally never get ripped on those

Ppl with shot creating and post scoring can literally do every move i have in that video. Notice i didn’t do one drop step or attack directly off a post spin.

I do those moves obviously but i didn’t wanna show moves that everyone does. Using these moves not even a 99 pure rim protector can hold you

This is why I’ll always say pure post is the best big man archetype and has been for years. Also all my post badges are on gold

Pure Stretch is valuable in Park

It's a good strategy you're planning here and one that's been around for years: farming VC off one character to feed another character.

I'm not sure on the endorsements in Season 2 but you will have opportunity to earn a higher salary in Season 2.

Does it matter if I'm only 77 in future years? I know I can get stats with him, but will the AI decide not to play me if there's a higher tath pg on my team? Also does the 77 rating impact my future contract? (Ie would i make more if I were higher rated?)
