Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

So I have played 2k12 for a while now, but never finished the first season. I decided to start a new one after the trade deadline and used another user's roster and started a new MP, but only played key games. Finished the first season and when I start the second season I see there are about 10 rookies rated 93+. A couple of them are real life college guys but some are made up. One rookie was a 5'11" SF rated 95 overall. I couldn't do anything against him.

I just wanted to know if these high rookies are only in the game because I downloaded another users roster. If I use the most recent 2k12 roster, will the rookies be more realistic.

I only played a couple games with my SF after I created him and he was drafted by the 76ers. I was excited about where I got drafted, because I really like the sixers. But then I remembered the draft glitch, and was worried it might feel cheap to stay with them. I will probably trade away after my rookie season.

I've had some issues getting used to not playing as a PG, with my SG or this guy. Not being able to call plays will take some getting used to. After my first few games, I'm averaging: 12 ppg, 5 rpg, and shooting 43% if I remember correctly. Still the sixth man, only getting about 21 mpg. They keep subbing me in as power forward because of my size, which is frustrating because I am slashing and have no paint defensive skills.

Also: what ability upgrade effects a leaning jumpshot? The kind where it is essentially a fadeaway to the side? Is that technically a fadeaway, even though you aren't jumping backwards?
To make the leaning jumper you have to upgrade the Dribble pull-up ability.

This is another one of the "challenges" in the MP game. Player potentials are set high and CPU generated rookies come in with high skills and abilities. Therefore, as you get better by playing out each season, so does the competition. Eventually teams are loaded with 80 to 90 ranked players at every position and the game becomes ridiculous. Some of the crafted rosters have address the player potential issue, but the CPU generated rookies in MP cannot be changed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Thanks for the reply. I have heard about some of the challenges. I just hope it doesn't affect the game play too much. I just couldn't deal with a starting SF being 5'11". Thats not realistic at all. Also I thought someone created the rookies bc Austin Rivers and Reggie Miller were rookies. There were other names just can't think of them. I guess I might just play more of the first season because that seems to be good.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

            My Player Info:
            - PC (with 1.0.1. patch)
            - Superstar, Default, Sliders all @ 50
            - 6' 6" 190lbs. Scoring SG
            - Drafted by Utah, 1 - 10 record, not trades yet
            - Avg. teammate grade B
            - Stats are roughly 14 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast, 2 stls in about 20 minutes off the bench
Why do my AI teammates play so poorly? On offense they hold the ball forever or dribble erratically unless I "call for pass", and on defense they give up layup after layup. I've tried "Run Plays" both off and on and it doesn't help either way. I feel comfortable with my game at the difficulty/slider level(have to work for my points and can't relax on defense) but the team is tanking. Is there something I can change to get the AI to play realistically? We lost to Charlotte after leading by 15 for God's sake.

made a 5-11 165 pound PG and got drafted 8th overall to the Pistons. At the end of the season i went from having 12 minutes per game to 31 minutes per game. I also averaged 18.7 ppg as a rookie and got rookie of the year. The next season i demanded to be traded to the wizards, i started out as the sixth man and eventually became the starter of john wall and led the wizards to a 46-36 record but lost 1-4 in the first round to the Magic. At the end of the season i averaged 27.5 ppg and 4.7 assists per game. Just started my 3rd year and scored 22-6-2(steals) my first game but lost.

                  PF/ATH/ROOKIE/BOBCATS/62 OVR

Well, I wasn't sure if I was going to like playing as a PF or not. However.. I absolutely love it. Last game, I played terrible. I shot 17% from the field, but I was still getting the hang of it. This game we faced the Memphis Grizzlies. The final score was: Charlotte: 110. Memphis: 87. It wasn't even close.

                  My stats:

                  M. Rieb: 20 Min. 27 Pts. 11 Reb. 4 Stl. 2 Blk. 13-19 FG.

This was only the third game into the season. This was my first double-double and Player of the Game. By the end of the game, all of my teammates automatically began to look for me in the post. So, that's definitely a benefit of playing PF. We're now moved to 2-1, our only loss coming from the Orlando Magic, the final score being 98-97.

I've always liked playing on Charlotte, but I'm really enjoying playing the PF and C for them. Hopefully I end up getting pushed down to starting C by the time I'm able to start.

The cpu rubberbanding is really getting annoying. we usually lead at the half by 10 and by 2nd half it we will be on the end of a 12-0 run. i call timeouts play real ball and take smart shots. i can't control my teammates because they miss easy layups. its stupid, 2k wants you to cheese to win.

anyone know how i can beat the cpu rubberbanding

Is this one game or every game? cause it's entirely possible for that happen in real life in any game. not really cpu rubberbanding if it's just one game.
Also play on simulation not defualt, that may help with better defense.

lol the game is hard...i just played 4 games last night against top teams in the lakers, heat, magic and bulls...

dont get me wrong...i can still get like 20+ assists per game with my PG but the only people on my team that are capable of scoring are the bigs...notably demarcus cousins and j.j. hickson...it's through those two and my player alone that we're able to win...even so, they're all close games since i still have issues with turning the ball over...

tyreke evans continually misses contact layups or gets blocked...john salmons is starting over thornton lol but when marcus thornton is in the game he passes up wide open shots and tries to drive to the hoop which also ends up getting blocked...

i just wish the game didnt allow your opponents to drain 3's so consistently every quarter...after any timeouts and etc.

                              PG/ATH/Jazz/Rookie/OVR: 84

1st Utah Jazz vs. 4th Dallas Mavericks.

The Jazz were hungry after losing game 4 in Dallas to allow the defending champions to stay alive. Game 5 at home was a back and forth affair until late 3rd early 4th when the Jazz started to pull away and ended up with a 99-84 win over the Mavericks.

                              Stat Line:
                              P. Henderson - 41 Min 49 Pts 8 Reb 4 Ast 3 Stl 1 T.O. 19-35 FG 1-1 3pt (!!!) 10-11 FT

I was trying this game with the plays on and while I was able to get other parts of the offense involved I think I would rather stick to my free lance style. Utah's PB does allow everyone to get involved on offense though through points and assist. I will try to find a common ground.

                              Playoff Update:

The 1st seeded Jazz will face off against 2nd seeded Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. My thoughts of this series are focused on how to stop the dynamic trio of Westbrook, Harden, Durant when my team is down to 2 capable perimeter defenders in myself and off the bench Raja Bell who doesn't have the quickness anymore and I guess you could say Alex Burks is ok defender too, but we are at a major disadvantage. They have also added Wesley Matthews and Kurt Thomas to there team which just added depth.

                              Eastern Conference Finals:

3rd Seeded Bulls vs. 8th Seeded Nets

I was curious to see how the Nets made such a run through the playoffs and who there team consisted of and it was the same Pre-Gerald Wallace Nets except there role players stepped up scoring.

I will post the regular season stats then post season stats.

                              Regular Season Stats:

                              Deron Williams - 23.6 PPG 2.4 RPG 5.7 APG 2.5 SPG

He already explained it, but yes. You can go to the 2K site and look at your MP then basically copy the image or "save as". I need to get traded to a team I like, not a huge Portland fan.
