4 years though, so he’s really not making all that much. They were going hard after Brook Lopez, seems they desperately wanted a big that could shoot and that was probably the best one left.

He was pretty solid for the Spurs, and played really well against Joker in the playoffs too. Somewhat surprised the market for him wasn’t bigger than it was. And maybe other teams were interested and he just took the most money. Idk I just didn’t see his name brought up until that deal went through.

Kinda seems like the Lakers might have ****ed him contract wise. When they let him and Bamba go all reports claimed they were going to stay in contact with them and maybe get new deals for them to come back.

Lakers can offer him more than the min to return, and still have like 7-8 left they could have spent on him. But they got everything they wanted but a true center on the roster so that’s what they’re after now. Not a huge deal normally but free agency went by so fast all the money has dried up. Idk for sure obviously but I’m assuming he thought he’d get 5mil or so to return to the Lakers. Gabe signed for under the full MLE, DLo for under his projected 20m, and the Lakers still have 2 roster spots. I guess they just see no role for him, which makes sense to a degree given how last year went.

Definitely could end up starting for the Bucks. Pat would make a great 6th man anyways. Allen becomes somewhat expendable if Beasley plays well. Feels like Milwaukee needs another move or two though. They lost Carter, Ingles, which doesn’t seem like much but depth was already an issue for them. They have a rotation of mediocre shooting guards for what feels like 5-6 years now.

        Need a true PG.

Good signing on ROLO, twinning up with BRLO

Among the new assistants on the Raptors bench is James Wade, the former WNBA coach of the year and reigning executive of the year (as the Skys GM)

I don't see him lasting more than a year before some team comes calling for him.

              Wow

But, Magic had a logjam in the front court anyway, so not too surprising

It sucks. But I saw that coming. They have waaaay too much talent at this point. Bol Bol was great in the first half. But he started fouling and missing defensive rotations. I don't think this is last stop per say. But teams don't like when he takes bad shots with bad defense.

Agree. But, his contract is only $2.2M, so I can see a team claiming on using a TPE or something

Oh damn I didn't know it was only 2.2M.

Bol Bol coast was fun while it lasted.

Maybe the Spurs/Rockets/Lakers pick him up.

                        Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

                        Typical offseason like stories.

Trae Young just followed Pascal Siakam (who recently has been rumored to be a big target of Atlanta).

                        Scottie just followed Onyeka Okongwu

I'm not sure what deal would even be a fair return for Raptors.

Raptors wanted Kobe Bufkin in the draft. The trade if Bufkin is involved couldn't officially happen before August 2nd but we could always see insiders report it beforehand...

Salary wise it would have to be Murray, Kobe, Onyeka going the other way. Maybe someone like Griffin or Bey too.

Raptors would then flip Boucher in a different deal for basically anything (best case a late 1st rounder, most realistic being a 2nd).

Pack give the man some room. He lost his HC, PG and other stuff. Let him mourn anyway he wants to.

Nothing against Siakam, but Atlanta getting him doesn't make sense even though he is a fine player.

You traded three 1st round picks for Murray for 1 year of play. He has a contract coming
up and as a similar player to FVV. He is going to want a similar contract and this is the last year of his deal. If you include him in the trade your still going to have to give up other assets.

Siakam from what I heard is going to get 50ish per year. I don't see how you pay both him and Murray with Trae. Plus you would whip most of your young guys if you keep Murray
