It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

At what point does live TV die completely and there's a massive correction on $$? Or does that ever happen? Live viewership on TV is falling. That is not even up for debate. I guess Amazon (or whatever streaming service) can just pay anything forever idk.

I’ve wondered the same thing and the latest business rumor is Disney will try and sell off espn since they are losing $. Speculation is they will go away from cable TV at some point. Everyone will say streaming is the wave of the future, but again none of them make $ now much including Netflix. So adding a billion $ nba contract isn’t going to help that.

When that time comes, The negotiation simply shifts to streaming rights. We already see what the NFL and MLB is doing. The pot just keeps getting bigger.

Thank goodness that's way too much to give up for a 1-year rental or overpay that isn't pushing the needle for Atlanta. Plus would make for a lot of non-shooters if your top players.

What's the move for Toronto now?

Re-evaluate the market and figure out a new plan? That's the Raptor way.

They don't HAVE to trade him, but you also have to weigh a few options/scenarios.

                  1. Highest return for Raptors is Siakam wanting to sign an extension with a new team

                  2. Next highest is Siakam just going there now but not staying beyond that year, possibly just going back to the Raptors after that (not for as much since they wouldn't be able to sign him for as much vs if he re-signed)

                  3. Siakam stays with the Raptors and re-signs for the max afterwards

                  4. Siakam stays with the Raptors for the season but then walks

Right now we're in scenario 2. He's not signing an extension with the Raptors, but apparently wants to stay, but teams don't want to give up much if he's walking, especially if he's walking back to the Raptors.

Scenario 4 is worst case, aka the VanVleet scenario.

The tricky part is if you're in scenario 2, do you hold out hoping scenario 1 eventually happens which increases your return, but risk him just never moving and eventually just walking? Is that reward worth the risk?

Nice deal for Hart and New York locks in their starting backcourt for awhile.

Not a surprise. Morey isn't taking a BS deal to get move off from Harden. But, I still see him getting traded. I just wanted this BS to be over with lol

Feels like it's AI generated, but the toothpaste is already out of the tube. Feels like when he took that 1+1 last year, he felt he was going to get taken care of.

It would be nice to have one normal quiet offseason for the Sixers

I didn't realize he had said that on video. What do you think ends up happening ? Because It seems like they are worlds apart on what some team will realistically give up for Harden

Neither side is right. Harden obviously expected to be taken care of. But, either Harden doesn't have a good grip on reality or doesn't have good people in his corner. If it was all about a bag, he should have taken the extension when Brooklyn offered it. A lot of this stuff wouldn't have even an issue. Harden banked on using Houston as leverage. But once Udoka was hired and said he didn't want him, he lost that leverage. I actually think he would've been better off opting out. Because Philly would've been in a situation where they had to give him a longer term deal. It's like Harden is delusional about his value. This situation is different then past two times where he had destinations lined up. if the Clippers aren't willing to give up Mann in a deal, then they aren't serious. It's not like Mann is a 21-24 high upside prospect, he's 27. If he kept talking about sacrifice and basketball freedom, he's not getting that with the Clippers. He'll have an even lesser role with the Clippers. He's not getting a max near year heading into his year 35 season.

But, Morey is also delusional about Harden's value. At least with Simmons, he was still young and had upside. Harden is who he is and will regress. He's not getting a "star" or quality draft picks. What Morey wants doesn't make sense on any front. He either wants a star or a package that he can flip for a star and/or have cap flexibility for next season. If he wants Cap Flexibility then the Clippers deal make sense. I don't understand wanting to go the cap space route anyway. You're essentially taking a gap year. It's not like it's a good FA class next year and you're hoping that certain guys opt out or overpay someone like OG. I rather go for it this year. Even when you try to consider a trade, they still don't have assets that would entice a team to trade a star.

I said before, I'm okay with a Clippers package that includes Batum, Covington, and Mann.
