It's right at the start of the season too, so why not? Nobody cares about NBA games in December outside of Christmas. The NFL is moving in on Christmas broadcasts so it could be a smart play on the NBAs part to generate a little interest heading into those marquee holiday games.

Seems like Hawks and now Pacers are in mix for Siakam.

Obviously Pacers won't put Haliburton in this deal. Pacers do own all their firsts so they could add in whatever they want.

Raptors fans seem to want Mathurin and Nembhard. I'd imagine a first as well in there and then maybe it turns into a 3 teal deal where Hield goes to a third team and that team gives up something to the Raptors?

"Detroit Pistons F/C Isaiah Stewart has agreed on a four-year, $64 million rookie contract extension, his agent Drew Gross of @RocNationSports tells ESPN. Stewart gets the first non-maximum extension for the 2020 draft class."

I think it's wise that he signed early. He's got a lot of competition in Detroit. They have Jalen Duren, Wiseman, and not to mention players like Cade and others.

Murray can't be traded for 6 months and Bogdanovich can't be traded until like September. So your it pretty much has to be Hunter / Capela from the $ side of things. Atlanta has a big trade exception, but using that puts way over the luxury tax which is almost a lock to not happen.

The other assets going would be AJ/Jalen and some draft picks like the Kings lottery protected 1st

am I crazy or is that a really good deal for Detroit? The Pistons roster is so overcrowded with him, Wiseman, Bagley 3, Duren, he's only 22 and improving, extremely high hustle guy, fan favorite, still working on expanding his game... I thought Detroit would lose him for nothing, instead he stays on a friendly deal

I guess flip side for him is he locks himself into playing basketball for the next 4 years. And he'll probably demand a trade after he doesn't get playing time or some BS. I'm sure it has incentive attached.

The NBA has granted the Bulls a $10.2M disabled player exception, Bulls PR confirms.
Awesome. Have absolutely no clue what we can do with this at this point. We can trade for someone at that price or sign someone not sure who fits the bill that would help this season.

Yep paying him until 2042. He will be 122 years old by then.

"Phoenix is trading G Cam Payne, a second-round pick and cash to San Antonio, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

ESPN Sources: Free agent F/C Bol Bol has agreed on a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns. At 23, Bol had his best NBA season with Orlando: 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocks in 21.5 minutes. Another developing talent to join a deepened bench rotation."

                          In total from the Suns:

                          - Bol Bol signed on a one-year fully guaranteed deal
                          - Acquired three second-rounders from Orlando for a pick swap
                          - Traded Payne, a second and cash to Spurs for a future second"

Wasn’t Payne literally the only PG on the roster?
