Adam Eaton Can't Hold Lead, Suffers Loss!!!!!

Comeback win for Padres, as Adam Eaton tires in late innings.

The Padres picked up a one-run victory on the road last night, with the 3-2 final a disappointment to both the Phillies and their 31,866 fans in attendance. Josh Banks homered and drove in 2 runs to lead the charge. Josh Banks went 6 innings to get his 2nd win of the season, with the bullpen giving him an assist in the final three innings.

Tonight the Padres are in Florida to begin a series with the Marlins, Wilfredo Ledesma and Anibal Sanchez are the projected starters at Dolphin Stadium.

"Lack" of offense leads to Orioles losing another close encounter!!!!!

Anaheim, CA - The only run needed for the Angels to win tonight came in the very first inning when Mike Napoli doubled to the gap in left center field to score Howie Kendrick who was just activated yesterday. The O's offense was non-existent yet again and despite 3 errors on the night by the Angels, they were unable to put anything together. John Lackey picked up his 3rd win of the season as he went only 6.0 IP, allowing only 3 hits in his outing and Francisco Rodriguez recorded his 11th save. Jeremy Guthrie suffers another close defeat due to the lack of hitting and falls to 2-4 on the season. The "Birds" will look to rebound tomorrow night.

                No Relief For Cardinals!!!!!

Cubs rough up Cardinals bullpen in win.

It took the Cubs 10 innings, but they were able to beat the Cardinals in St. Louis, winning by the final count of 7-6 in front of 47,489 fans at Busch Stadium. Alfonso Soriano had a big game offensively, bashing a home run and driving in 2 runs. Starter Jason Marquis worked 6.2 innings and allowed no runs and 3 hits, but he wasn't around when the game was decided, though he does record his 3rd quality start of the season. Usual closer Kerry Wood picked up a rare win, his 1st of the season, working 1 inning and allowing 1 run on 1 hit.

The series continues with a day game this afternoon, as the visiting Cubs give the ball to Sean Gallagher, who will be opposed by the Cardinals' Adam Wainwright.

Hey man, thanks for checking in. How do like NCAA? I've always wanted to really get deep into a Nittany Lions dynasty. I go to at least two Penn State games a year, when my Aunt decides which games she doesn't want to attend, and it really hits me when I'm there. After I attend a game, I just want to be part of it all the time and I end up investing in this game, but after last year's debacle, I'm afraid to make that leap this year. I played the demo and enjoyed it, but as you know, a demo doesn't really offer much.

I love it. The wide open gameplay and breakaway engine are awesome. LanteriX is making named rosters so those will be there and I'll be editing after he gets done. There is a roster glitch though that causes crashes when editing though. Lan has been able to avoid that too. So it's great.

O's survive late scare to even series as Mora makes history!!!!!

Anaheim, CA - It would be a memorable night for the 34,126 fans in attendance tonight at the big "A" in Anaheim as the Orioles and Angels displayed what this sport is all about. They were treated to great plays on defense, long balls, close calls, clutch pitching, late inning drama, and one history making moment that they will be able to tell their grandchildren that they witnessed it in person. Things got started off in the bottom of the 3rd when Garrett Anderson took the first pitch he saw off of O's starter Daniel Cabrera over the wall in right to put the Angels up early. Fortunately for Cabrera, it would be the only lead of the night for the "Halos", but the victory for the Orioles wouldn't come easy. After a lead off single in the 4th from Brian Roberts, history was made in the form of Melvin Mora, delivering the first ever "inside the park" homerun from an Oriole. Melvin sent a shot to the gap in right center field, when Tori Hunter made a diving attempt at a spectacular play, but came up just short leaving the ball to roll the whole way to the wall. By the time Guerrero got their to pick it up and get it to the relay man, Melvin was non-stop heading around 3rd base, sliding into home as the throw from Kendrick was up the line. As the buzz continued in the stands, the very next hitter, Aubrey Huff took the first pitch off of Jon Garland over the wall in right center to give the O's a dramatic 3-1 lead. The "Birds" got two more runs in the 5th in the form of Brian Roberts, who finally connected on his first home run of the season to push the lead to 5-1. After trading runs in the 6th to make it 6-2, the Angels turned it up. They got runs in the 6th and 7th to cut the Orioles lead to 6-4 heading to the 8th. With 1 out and runners at 1st in 3rd in the 8th inning, O's reliever Chad Bradford came in and got Mike Napoli to ground into a double play to end the threat. Things also got a little sticky in the 9th. After O's closer George Sherrill surrendered a run, he was able to strike out Tori Hunter with the potential tying run at 2nd and got Chone Figgins to fly out to the warning track in right center to end the ballgame. Daniel Cabrera picked up his 4th win of the season as the Orioles try to capture the series tomorrow night.

Cabrera seems to have gotten on track now as his ERA is under 4.00.

Are you going to wait until the break on purpose or do you think that you might pull a lesser impact trade after the first CPU trade appears?
