Baltimore, MD - The Orioles batted around in the 1st inning, scoring 4 times as the "Birds" sent Detroit home with their 3rd straight loss, a 9-2 thrashing at the ballpark tonight. Luke Scott had 3 hits, including his first triple of the season, added 3 RBI's giving him a team high 65 and Brian Roberts captured 3 more stolen bases, pushing his total to 36 on the year. Close game goes to Red Sox, as Angels can't come back.

Yesterday afternoon's tilt between the Red Sox and Angels was a close one, with Boston eventually coming away with a narrow 3-2 win over Los Angeles. David Ortiz carried the club, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI's. Michael Bowden earned his 1st win of the season in over-powering fashion, striking out 10 in just 7 innings of work before heading back to the minors.

"Attack on Inner Harbor" Jays open series with 12-4 thumping of Orioles!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Blue Jays came into tonight's affair with the Orioles looking to turn things around after dropping their last 4 games. They did that and then some, pounding the O's 12-4 at Camden Yards tonight. Travis Snider started the scoring in the top of the 2nd with a 2-RBI single, on his way to a 4-for-4 night. The Jays later put up a total of 5 home runs against the "Birds" pitching staff led by Alex Rios, who collected 2 of those home runs and 4 hits himself on the evening. Lyle Overbay continued to assault the O's staff as well, picking up a solo home run and a double on the night. Garrett Olson lasted just 2.2 innings in the effort, sending him to 7-9 on the year. The only bright spots for the O's tonight was Nick Markakis had a 2-RBI single and Luke Scott added another RBI to his team high, giving him 66 on the year. The two teams will once again tangle tomorrow night.

The Rangers picked up a one-run victory on the road last night, with the 4-3 final a disappointment to both the White Sox and their fans in attendance. Michael Young drilled a home run and drove in 2 runs to lead the offense. Luis Mendoza worked the first 6.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs to earn victory number 1 of the season.
