    Rutgers (3-1) vs. #2 West Virginia (4-0)
    Madison Square Garden
    New York, NY
    November 16th, 2035
2K Sports College Hoops Classic - Championship Game

It's usually West Virginia's home away from home, but Madison Square Garden nearly played host to a big upset of the No. 2 team in the land this evening as the Mountaineers (4-0) barely outlasted Rutgers (3-1) 64-63.

After three straight games of efficient offense, the Mountaineers sputtered to just 64 points on 37% (22/59) shooting this evening. The story was even worse from three-point range, where the Mountaineers shot only 26% (7/27).

With the seconds counting down, Rutgers (3-1) had the basketball down by two points and West Virginia small forward Felipe Delgado made one of the most critical mistakes a player can make in such a situation as he fouled Rutgers' Atila Johnson on a three-point attempt with 1.6 seconds remaining. Johnson had three free throws down two points. Making all three would likely win the Scarlet Knights, barring a miraculous last-second heave, and making two would send it to overtime. Instead, he made the first, but clanked the last two attempts and the Mountaineers managed to escape with the slim one-point victory.

"We were lucky there," explained West Virginia head coach James Frizzell. "That was an ugly sequence to close the game, and it's hard to say we deserve to win after making such a crucial mistake in crunch time, but we'll take the win and the trophy."

With the win, the Mountaineers take home this year's 2K Sports College Hoops Classic Championship.

Despite his blunder at the end of regulation, Atila Johnson still scored 10 points for Rutgers. 7'0" junior Danndrriss Mulic led the Scarlet Knights in rebounding with 10 points and eight boards and Konrad Rice scored a team-high 15 points.

Nik Buscher led West Virginia in scoring, rebounding, and blocks with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks. Felipe Delgado added 12 points and four rebounds and Morris Filipovic scored 10 points from off the bench,

Next, West Virginia hosts Memphis tomorrow evening at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown.

      Memphis (0-1) vs. #2 West Virginia (5-0)
      WVU Colseium
      Morgantown, WV
      November 17th, 2035

Charles Rickert scored 16 points and added five steals as No. 2 West Virginia (5-0) continued its perfect start to the season with a dominating 79-49 throttling of the Memphis Tigers (0-1) this evening in Morgantown.

Memphis opened its season tonight and showed a lot of rust as West Virginia got off to a quick 11-0 start and never looked back.

Nik Buscher added 15 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks for West Virginia and Felipe Delgado totaled 15 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Stefon Hull also scored 10 points and added five steals, both career-highs for the first-year Mountaineer.

Memphis turned the basketball over 20 times this evening as the West Virginia defense continually frustrated them in halfcourt sets. The Tigers shot just 31% (16/52) from the floor.

Stanley Butt scored a team-high 13 points for Memphis.

West Virginia has a week off before hosting Rider next Sunday.

              December 1st, 2035

Nik Buscher scored 33 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists to lead No. 2 West Virginia (7-0) to an 89-70 victory over No. 25 USC (6-2) this evening in Morgantown.

Charles Rickert added 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists and Felipe Delgado tallied 14 points and five rebounds.

The Mountaineers led 42-31 at halftime and extended their lead throughout the second half. The Mountaineers shot 55% (36/66) from the floor this evening and 44% (11/25) from three-point range. USC shot well from the field overall (47% FG), but made just one of their 12 attempts from beyond the arc.

Olu Dilligard scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Trojans in scoring. Wilbur Marigney was the only other double-digit scorer for USC with 18 points and four assists.

West Virginia will host No. 1 Duquesne next Tuesday in what will quite possibly be the biggest regular season game in the history of the WVU Coliseum. The Dukes are 6-0 and ranked as the No. 1 team in the land, and West Virginia is 7-0 and ranked No. 2 in the land. To add to the storylines, West Virginia defeated Duquesne in last year's national championship game and the two schools are located within an hour's drive of one another.

"It's going to be a great one," beamed West Virginia head coach James Frizzell about Tuesday's game. "I can't wait, and I'm sure [Duquesne] can't, either. They're going to be motivated after what we did to them in April, I'm sure."

Off to a great start this year. Conference seems to be pretty weak again just like year so I’d expect you guys to roll through that section of the schedule without much issue

Agreed. I think the conference might be a little better this year, but I figure we should cruise to another regular season crown, regardless, as it still seems weak, unfortunately.

Nik Buscher scored a career-high 40 points and added 11 rebounds and three blocks to keep No. 2 West Virginia's perfect season alive as the Mountaineers (8-0) defeated top-ranked Duquesne 81-69.

Buscher's performance was legendary as he shot 15/19 from the field and 10/11 from the free throw line. It came at a perfect time as the Mountaineers shot under 25% (9/40) from three-point range and the rest of the team shot just two free throw attempts during the game.

"I was just feeling it tonight," explained Nik Buscher. "I was getting good position inside and I felt I had the advantage, and my team did a good job of feeding the ball inside to me."

Buscher scored 19 points in the first half, but was quiet early in the second half. However, after the Mountaineers fell behind by five points early in the second half, Buscher scored 21 points in the final 10 minutes of the game to fuel the Mountaineers' late-game surge.

Felipe Delgado added 13 points and six rebounds for West Virginia and Boakai Clement totaled 11 points and eight rebounds. Eight rebounds is a career-high for the redshirt senior guard.

Dave Burke scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds for Duquesne (6-1). Logan Matela added 11 points, five rebounds, and six assists and Eugene Boythe tallied 11 points and six assists. Dick O'Connor also scored 10 points from off the bench.

West Virginia will hit the road on Saturday to take on the Missouri Tigers in Colombia, MO. The Tigers are unranked, but are off to a perfect 5-0 start this season.

Is there a place somewhere that you keep all of your stats and totals? You've created such an awesome thing here and it would be cool to look back.

I don’t have it all in one place, but I’ve thought about putting something together in the past and now you’ve reminded me of it, so maybe I’ll try to put something together. I think I have the information to do so (season-end stats, etc.).

Yeah that's a pretty good idea.. I've skimmed through but 476 pages is a lot to go through! Setting up some chapter links etc might work. I think i have the html codes somewhere. I'll have a look later for it. Always amazed how you manage to stick with the legacy this long, ive never played college hoops 2k though.

I have some chapters linked in the original post on the first page, but I haven't updated that for the most recent season, so I'll have to do that. In any case, I should definitely put something together. Maybe I'll look into that this weekend if I have some time.

In a battle of unbeatens, No. 2 West Virginia (9-0) pulled away in the second half to blow out Missouri 98-69 this evening in Columbia, MO.

The Tigers (6-1), who entered tonight with a perfect 6-0 mark on the season, kept pace with the Mountaineers in the first half via aggressive play and frequent trips to the free throw line, but West Virginia locked down defensively in the second half, holding Missouri to just 29 points scored and outscoring the Tigers by 21 in the second half alone.

Charles Rickert had a career outing as he sported career-highs in points (29) and three-pointers made (9). He also grabbed five rebounds. Boakai Clement added four threes and scored 14 points and Nik Buscher scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, despite foul trouble limiting him to just 21 minutes. Felipe Delgado added 10 points and seven rebounds and Damond Pasco just missed out on a double-double with nine points and career-highs in rebounds (5) and assists (11).

Junior point guard Gerald Bouma scored 16 points and dished out five assists to lead Missouri in both categories. Seven-footer Johnny Robertson led the Tigers in rebounding with 10 points and nine rebounds. Lewis Callans added 11 points and seven rebounds and Pearson Wellington scored 10 points.

West Virginia shot 48% (37/77) from the field and 46% (21/46) from three-point range. The Mountaineers also had a substantial 43-29 advantage on the glass.

West Virginia has six days off before hosting rival No. 18 Virginia Tech next Saturday in Morgantown.
