With my 1060 I just use the default optimal power setting as global, and then set it to prefer max performance on individual game profiles that will actually push the card.

Bought me some games. I might be bias because I'm ex-military, but I love me some military themed games.

With the Windows 10 Creators Update out, Windows now supports HDR and Dolby Atmos, FYI. I haven't tinkered w/ either, but nice additions.

I have yet to play a game via windows.......I do know that you can now upload HDR videos to Youtube now and the requirements for it is sky high.

I'm surely getting Steel Division Normandy 44, looks like it will build into a great RTS to finally have something to rival COH.

Yeah, unreal nobody has gone down the COH rabbit hole since relic went away. We played so much co-op in that franchise. Same for Supreme Commander. Ashes of the Singularity just didn't click for me.

Interesting opinion article on how Valve/Steam really aren't our friend...made me think a bit, especially how people rail on EA/Origin but Valve's worse in a lot of ways.

No company is our friend lol. I feel like most people who've ever actually had to deal with Valve customer service prior to the refunds already knew Valve didn't care about their customers. It's one of the coolest things a company has ever done to have legions of fans backing them up for no reason other than they're fans. People still **** on Origin because EA has their games exclusive there lol, you almost can't buy the kind of brand loyalty that Valve has. Then the general online PC gaming community is very hostile so anyone speaks out against Valve and they get crushed, people see that and join the team, it's neverending. Kind of the world we live in though, the logo is more important than the product, especially when people look at the logo and see themselves like a lot of PC gamers seem to.

Totally...just made me think even more how Valve got so embedded. So much easier for people to buy/play games on Steam vs. other platforms nowadays. Plus everyone pretty much has Steam.

                              That brand loyalty is crazy...

It's not even brand loyalty. Most people I know have many issues with steam, but won't buy a game if it's not on it.

I am one of them. Valve is a piece of **** a lot of times, and I have no great love for them outside of thoroughly enjoying a few of their games (HL, CSGO, DOTA2) - however I hate the idea of having multiple programs/friends lists/etc for games.

I don't want to have Origin/uPlay/Steam/GOG Galaxy/etc. all running. I just don't. It's a waste. So I stick to games on Steam. Client-wise it's the best out of all of them, and despite having a ****ty store front and user experience nothing comes close.

Until something does, and games can be transferred between them that's why people stick with Steam. Not out of loyalty to Valve - out of ease of use. People wouldn't care if it was EA, MS (though UWP sucks) or some other third party we don't know - there's just no viable alternative to Steam and there won't be unless an act of God occurs to them.

EDIT: and this isn't even getting into stuff like workshop and all that other jazz. Just for a games library/collection/curation service none of the other competitors come close.
