Work from almost 30 years ago and work that is pretty biased against Superman? I don't know. I guess I'm just disappointed in how Superman's apparently getting nerfed in his own movie sequel.

Yeah me too. Batman shouldn't even be in it it's a Superman sequel. Lrt him have 2 or 3 movies of his own like Batman did.

Here's a fan made poster of Josh Brolin as Batman by Frankcus321. They are said to be looking for an older batman this time so I think he would be a good choice.

So they're looking for an older Batman around his 40's, huh? You know who would be a good choice? Oh yeah, the guy who just played Batman.

I don't know. I don't doubt that Brolin could pull it off, but I'd rather someone else.

IMO Jon Hamm would be the best Bruce Wayne. Whether or not he could do Batman, I don't know, but I think he'd be a killer Bruce, and that's the more difficult of the two.

It's going to be a different Batman, and Bale is done. He bats three times and is ready to move on.

It was said that the Bale was asked to do another one but he turned them down.

Josh Brolin doesn't vibe Batman to me. I think he'd be like a cheaper version of George Clooney and not come close to the charisma.

I think Jon Hamm would be good, but I see him as more of a Clark/Superman role.

Another reason Brolin would probably pass is because of his ex-wife diane lane already being in the film.

Batman Contenders Reportedly Include Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gangster Squad co-stars Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling are both said to be among the small group of actors the studio is looking at for the role of Batman. Brolin, in particular, is said to be the frontrunner to play Batman, who is expected to be anywhere from his mid-30s to 40s in this incarnation. Brolin is 46, Gosling is 32.

Brolin has already played one DC Comics hero for Warner Bros. when he starred in their western flop Jonah Hex. Latino-Review suspects one big reason why Brolin won't do it is because he recently divorced Diane Lane, who played Martha Kent in Man of Steel, and while they likely wouldn't have any scenes together in the sequel they could still encounter each other at press junkets and premieres.

(Latino-Review also threw cold water on people's hopes for Jon Hamm and Jim Caviezel playing Batman, citing their respective TV show obligations conflicting with the Batman vs. Superman schedule.)

Brolin and Gosling aren't the only actors reportedly under consideration. THR adds that Matthew Goode, who starred in Watchmen for Batman/Superman director Zack Snyder, is also on the list as are Richard Armitage (Thorin in The Hobbit, a Warners release), Max Martini (the Aussie dad/jaeger pilot in Warners' Pacific Rim) , and True Blood's Joe Manganiello (who was also a contender for the Superman role in Man of Steel). Manganiello also played Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

A recent report, echoed by Latino-Review, adds that Gerard Butler, who starred in Snyder's 300, may also be in the running to play Batman.

"The script is still being written, so nothing has been submitted formally to reps and actors. Two, according to sources, director Zack Snyder is only just beginning to look at actors," THR cautioned. It's also entirely possible none of the actors will end up landing the role. "Casting is likely to solidify in the coming weeks as Warner Bros wants to shoot the movie in early 2014 for a 2015 release."

The problem is I'm comparing all these guys to being paired up with Henry Cavill who played Superman perfectly and I don't really see it.

I guess I could see Brolin or the True Blood guy as Batman off the names mentioned

This makes no sense. Superman is the first hero.... and Batman is older? What? They're supposed to be closely aged. And they're indirectly saying Batman's been doing this longer than Superman has.

Why can't they just make Man of Steel 2?
