First of all, great thread.
Jurassic 5=Underrated, still one of my favorite hip-hop groups
GUnit=Overrated

Almost everything on mainstream radio today is garbage except Gorillaz, Foo Fighters, and Green Day (even though they are getting played a little too much).

That's all I can think of for now.

The strangest album in hip hop history was Nas "Illmatic". It had the best lyrics put on wax combined with some garbage basement beats.

It had the two best East Coast producers in hip-hop at the time all over it, plus Xtra P was pretty damn sick back then too. That was just the NYC sound back then. Gritty, basement beats. Dunno how they're garbage, LOL, especially compared to Nas' beat selection later on which is mind-bogglingly awful.

Backpackers can talk all the **** they want, but Atmosphere is ****ing killing the underground hiphop scene. You can't imagine how much fun we're having is the best hiphop album of the year. Hiphop hasn't seen better chemistry from a DJ and MC since Eric B and Rakhim...and yes, that includes Gangstarr.

50 cent is garbage , even back in his power of a dollars days he was mediocre at best.
all gunit is garbage.
dipset garbage.
kanye is a wack rapper.
andre 3000 is a top ten rapper.
just blaze and 9th wonder are currently running this producing ish.
phonte is currently one of the top 5 rappers making music.
91-97 was the best period for rap ever . it wasnt the 80s .
snoop dogg is garbage.
lil wayne is an average rapper at best and im being generous.
the gift and the curse is actually decent.
the blueprint is the "illmatic" of this decade
all eyes on me is the most overrated album of alltime.

I agree with a lot more on your second list than the first one you made.

Thats in my disc player right now. He's been there longer than any of todays hip hop superstars including Jigga and Nas as well as Wu Tang and although he is'nt the most lyrical, he is the most consistent IMO.

I'd have to say that just about 90 % of the radio here in Boston is all garbage. Couldn't be more repetitive, not just in the songs being played voer and over, but each genre played on the radio sounds like every other song in the genre on the same station, save maybe 2 songs.

All R & B and Hip Hop today suck. I am a rock guy mainly, but with no biasedness against anything else, that crap just sucks. I don't mind some good rap, but I don't listen to it as much. From what I do listen to, I enjoy Jay-Z the most and can stand 50 and a couple others.
