Buy one from Costco. Their return policy can't be beat. It's basically an indefinite warranty. If you have a problem with anything bought there, they'll refund you.

Check with anyone you know that has a Reward Zone card to see if they got the e-mail...if so, they are eligible for the pre-order. I got my e-mail today, but it doesn't give any details on what they are offering or for what price.

I got that email and was surprised that they didn't tell you what was in the bundle.

Did it give any indication why you were selected, or is it totally random? Sigh. I pre-ordered in early June, and now it looks like I'm not going to be able to get my 360 till after Christmas. Played the every10minutes game a ton, went to TRU (too late), and now I don't get any love from Best Buy either.

If anyone who already has their 360 lined up gets a Best Buy pre-order slot that they don't want, I'd love a hook up.

No indication...seems random.

I got the same email too, I have my pre-order at TRU already. If best buys bundle is better I may have to think about it. Is this just for a online order or do you think you could pick it up at the store?

the core is in such low demand that you'll probably have a hell of a hard time finding one once the "shortage" starts working itself out.

Most likely online only, but you never know with Best Buy. I am going to check it out regardless and see what they have to offer.

There is really no clear cut company at fault here since we have no idea whether or not GS / EBGames etc were given intial numbers from Microsoft, or if they just went on a mad sales binge trying to get as much money as possible, as quickly as possible. If you think about the people who have put even as little as 50 bucks down back in May / June / July...multiply that times the amount of people who reserved...thats a nice chunk of change to keep in the bank earning interest until the actual product has to be paid for.

This is why I have always thought camping out is the best bet, you dont have to pay for ridiculous bundle prices (some are OK)...and your not left out in the cold trying to get a refund if your unit doesnt happen to show at launch. It's always been well known that the Best Buy's / Walmart's etc have much more buying / inventory power than the EB's and Gamestop's. Comparing the specialtly shops to mass market retailers is fruitless, the big companies move MUCH more inventory than the game stores do.

That being said, congrats to those who got in early enough...I will be camping out at my 24 hour Walmart on the 21st, and if that fails I will hover around the Target / Best Buy parking lots the morning of the 22nd.

Thats not correct anymore. Gamestop corp has the same buying power as Wal-Mart. They both have 25% of the market. Best Buy comes in third. I can also say that MS gave Gamestop about 24,000 more units than the original number. That does not count what EB is getting. The problem was before the merger, and to some extent even now, EB is/was doing their own thing. I can also tell you that Wal-Mart's allocation averages out to about 8-10 a store at launch. BB is a little higher due to the low number of stores. Good luck to all on your quest and happy hunting.

I think I am screwed. Call Gamestop in Stockbridge, Ga.(Atlanta) and was told I may not get my 360 until mid-December. I guess M$ is doing this to cause panic with shoppers doing the holiday season.
