Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Jumped on the scale today and weighed 233.4 pounds.
6'5" 272 in January
6'5" 233 in July.
39 pounds lost in about eight months... That's pretty solid and I'm happy, but I need to keep it going with a healthy diet and exercise. Goal weight is still 225. This has all proven to me even more how important your diet is. I have cleaned it up immensely and have cut out the late night junk food eating. It truly makes a huge difference, and I'd say I have only cut my calories by about 300 or 400 per day from what I was consuming in January.
When I hit my goal weight of 225, it will be time to get serious about a gym membership. My back feels so much better without the added weight. I feel like I can start up p90x or Insanity and not have any problems with it as my back hasn't been giving any problems lately...Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
I don't know why I did this today but I ended up juice fasting today since its a non lift day for me. I guess I wanted to try it and see what happens. It has been extremely challenging for me today.
I really have to focus and be strong which is helping with willpower. I can't really do it for more than a day unless I do it Sunday and Monday as I don't want to hurt myself fasting and lifting on the same day.
What makes me want to do it once a week is I got into this deep meditation that I've never gone to before in yoga and its really a out of body experience. I've been doing yoga for 3 months now and never got there. Crazy experience, I really don't know how to explain it.Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Well, I've had enough of being lazy.
After going 6 months in the gym at least four days each week and then being lazy the past two-three weeks, I've had enough.
I've been using work as leverage and I have been working two jobs, trying to hold down a relationship with this girl, and get my hobbies in, but from now own I don't give a **** what tries getting in my way...Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
You ever try to do some workout while working? Me and my co workers will get down and do pushups through out the day and have resistant bands also. You can do a ton of exercises with it. This guy at my work does 200 to 300 pushups a day and definitely made a difference.
So I do get a little bit of exercise in, throughout the day.. just nothing major.Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Gotta find a way to lose 20 or so pounds. *sigh*
For a person who's probably quite literally addicted to food, it's tough. I feel like I've already used all my willpower losing 50lb around 10 years ago.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 07-24-2012, 03:46 AM.Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Over the past couple of weeks I've been the doing a type of 5 meal plan throughout the day. Its not perfect, but its been doable so far. I've not had any cereal, pasta, frozen food (other than veggies), in a couple weeks. Considering I used to eat spaghetti at least once a week, that's an accomplishment to me.
Anyway, I was searching for "plans" to get ideas for what I can fix for meals and found the Insanity nutrition guide. I probably won't follow it to T for now, but it seems to have some good recipes and more importantly some good information.
What kind of multivitamin do you guys take?

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Had kind of a lazy, off weekend. Which is strange because I had a killer workout on Saturday morning, probably the most intense workout I ever had, really felt like I hit my max in what I was trying to do. Which I was proud of, but it all went downhill from there. Was really tired, groggy, lazy the rest of the weekend, even slacked a little bit and got chips, and soda.
Should be able to get back on track today though, woke up had a good breakfast, have good energy levels and about to hit a Biceps workout.Minnesota Vikings

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Sure. You're literally pissing your money away.
Unless you eat horrifically on a daily basis, you're getting what you need from your diet.
Do what you will, but I used to take a mv, it did nothing for me. I asked my dr, he said essentially what AUChase is saying, can't hurt, but you wont see a real measurable benefit outside of bright yellow piss an hour after taking one (ie there go all your vitamins). Therefore, why bother. If there is no discernible difference between taking one and not taking one, what am I paying for?Comment

Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Just got done with my Bicep work out, pretty satisfied except for 1 area. Did Barbell Straight Bar Curls 60 lbs, for 4 sets. Dumbbell Concentration curls 35 lbs, 4 sets each arm. Then did preacher curls, got maybe a little too ambitious and tried to up my weight to 45 each arm, and I struggled a little there, but I grinded it out even if I only did 2 reps each arm for 3 sets.
Also threw in something new. Exercise called "Fielder Curls" basically you go into a Baseball Infielders stance, slightly hunched down, with knees a little bent and Curl dumbbells in that position while holding the curl at the top. Pretty cool, you can make things a little more difficult by sliding over a few steps after each rep.Minnesota Vikings
