    Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I've been slacking hardcore for the past few months. Like I haven't been consistently working out or anything at all.

Now I'm at a crossroads. I've lost pretty much all I've gained, but I don't know whether to go ahead and start bulking up like crazy like I had planned, or go for a six pack. I've never really had a super visible one, but I can tell that I'm some ab workouts and cleaning my diet up away from having one. The only problem with that is then I'm just a really skinny guy with abs.

The other option is to just go ahead and start eating anything and everything and try to keep dedicated to working out like I managed to for a couple months at the start of the year. The sooner I start the more weight I can add, and the sooner I can cut and look way better than I do now.

I use the BSN BCAA when cutting fat...like it alot gives me energy without stims.

Its more of a taste preference for me.

I have been a pack a day smoker since I was about 16 and I just got back into cycling, I used to ride my back like 50 miles a day when I was 14. So I quit smoking 4 days ago and have been riding my bike everyday. I just recently found a 100 mile bike ride in my area in September and have started preparing for it. So far this month I have rode my bike 95 miles.

I figure most companies slap "dietary supplement" on their product, just to help get it past the FDA. Does products like Jack3d actually stimulate weight loss?

Finally got my mountain bike down, in the shop.

Shortened the chain and hit it with the wd40 and it's ready to go. I've had it for over 10 years and I'm 22 now.. and it's still in great shape.

Been getting some bad headaches lately after working out, had a terrible migraine today. Think I need to start eating more before working out, lately i've just been having a bowl of cereal then going before lunch and eating when I come home.

Close to 180lbs now, having issues eating healthy when i'm home but i've been working out hard lately so it's hard to tell if some of the gain is just muscle

                Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I am getting closer to my goals but am realizing more and more that keeping this going will be a lifestyle change and isn't something I need to move away from.

Don't sleep on a great diet/nutritional plan and simple push ups and sit ups. I have lost around 40 pounds in eight months on diet alone and doing body weight type exercises. I'll step it up soon with something a bit more challenging to avoid plateauing, but it's amazing to see how much nutrition plays into weight loss and how you feel. I haven't been depriving myself of foods I love, but am just really watching portion control and late night eating. That has been pretty key for me.

I never want to be at a higher weight again. My body can carry it but it just doesn't feel right. I need to live in the 225/235 pound range and right now, I'm just about there (233).

I rode my 23 mile course in the fastest time I have ever done it... 1 hour 20 minutes... I need to look for a longer route if I'm going to do this 100 mile ride.

I want to look like Bane. How do I get to look like Bane?

Just kidding, but I've pretty much stopped working out since injuring my heel nearly what, three years ago? Thankfully, I eat pretty healthily so my body never lets go, but I always got in shape "naturally" before, without any weights or supplements. I did running, some push-ups, and anything baseball-related. Now that I can't run or play baseball, my "regular workout" has been restricted to different types of push-ups.

So, for the past two weeks, I decided to get back into it. As of right now, I'm just doing standard push-ups, four reps of 50 a day (for 200 total per day). When I get more strength in my arms, I am going to do twenty different push-up sets of ten each, with a minute break and water chug in between. I also want to start getting on a stationary bike, but I really, really wish I could run again. This damn heel just hinders me from doing so.

I decided it's time to get back in soccer shape. Joining a gym tonight and then starting back up with finishing my ACL rehab. Does anyone have experience after almost 2 years of non completed ACL rehab? I only got to the jogging part, after that lost my insurance with job change - and never got back up again.

Whenever I'm down in the dumps with my fitness goals and just feeling lazy, I go and watch a few of these videos to get pumped up. Then afterwards I just kill my workouts, sometimes I won't even need to take anything pre-workout lol.

My biggest obstacle in being consistent is getting up in the mornings to do it. It's tough. In order to get a good run in or visit to the gym, I have to be up very early. For the most part I maintain it but it's so hard some mornings.

I think this sequence from Rocky really nails the early morning feeling.

I've found my dedication all over again.

Explosive back and bicep workout last night.

Then tonight I pushed my legs as far as they would go and then some.

I came straight home and started sucking down water and Gatorade. I could feel my legs on the verge of cramping, every step I took.

Did "The 3 Bars of Death" today...I may be on rhabdo watch, still got the shakes an hour later

                                3 lifts:

                                -Bench Press (body weight)
                                -Dead Lift (1.5 body weight)
                                -Power Clean (0.75 body weight)

                                Rep scheme:

                                10 of each
                                9 of each
                                8...
                                7...
                                6...
                                5...

                                Done. That sucked.
