Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Baserunning ability and baserunning aggressiveness play a factor in base-stealing. Both ratings determine the type of jump (i've noticed my jump times of .42 were considered ok in my first two years with my ratings in the 40's for BRABL and 30 in BRAGG, but since I've gotten BRABL to the high 60's and BRAGG to 40, it's now considered good.

I usally skip it because I end up losing points for baserunning ability. Every throw from the catcher is perfect.

Im still playing MLB 10 The Show. Mainly because im pretty deep into my career, and i want to continue the career instead of starting all over in 11 The Show. I wish aports games had the ability to load your RTTS, dynasty, or franchise in next years game so you could continue your career. 1 year isnt long enough to do a whole career in any sports game.

With that said im in my 9th year of baseball (7 years of MLB service) Got drafted by the Angels, then traded to the Diamondbacks. The next year i was traded to the Orioles organization where i played my first 6 years of pro ball. I made the playoffs only 1 year in those 6 years. Lost to the Rays in the ALCS. Decided to not resign with the Orioles due to not signing decent players to put around me. So i signed a contract with the first team that offered me a contract during the offseason. That team would be the Redsox.

Im currently in the 1st season as a Redsox's 2nd baseman. Poised to make the playoffs with an 80-32 record and a 10 game lead on 2nd place.

All of my training abilities are maxed out. Batting a career .354 with 302 HR

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

My last post was about me getting called up to the Show. Well that only lasted a week. I was sent back down to AAA to create room for a player coming off the DL. I only played a few games back in AAA before I suffered a dislocated ankle causing me to miss the rest of the season.

In the offseason I again signed a one year contract with Detriot as an AAA starter and was invited to Spring Training. I've only been used as a pinch hitter in 2 weeks of ST. It looks like when the season starts I'll be at AAA level, but I'm confident I'll be called up to MLB again in 2013 and hopefully longer.

Also the Cincinnati Reds won the 2012 World Series defeating the Twins in Game 7.

Just remade my childhood hero, Pablo Sanchez. Short, power hitting 2B/SS with some decent speed. Time to get to work!

Finally stole a base last night! Since I had the green light removed, I've only been running when the coach calls for it. Last night, he called for one, I took a two step lead and leaned - pitcher threw back at me twice (LOVE the tip y'all gave me about leaning forward and holding the stick back!), and on the third try, again with the same lead, he went into his motion and I took off. Ball got there about the same time as I did, but my slide was aimed head first and to the outfield side, so I was in there.

I'm going to put more points into speed & baserunning before I start going on my own, though. Been hacking a bit more instead of trying to work walks, and have raised my average back up to .250 (1st week of June). Although, I'm supposed to get 4 walks in my next advancement, so I'm going to have to go back to taking pitches.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

So I'm finishing out the 2013 season, and I'm really puzzled as to what is happening. My second baseman was called up last year, and right around the ASG this year I was leading the MVP race as I was second in the league for homers, but first in RBIs, OPS, and slugging. I was literally willing my Astros team to get out of the cellar.

Then I was benched for stealing when I didn't have the green light. I wasn't getting thrown out that often, but it would happen from time to time. I think that somehow stunted my stellar performance and it really feels like the game is forcing me into a slump.

Since August, my BA has dropped from .313 to .285, slugging is down to .646, OPS is down, and everything is falling like a rock. I can't hit anything anymore. I'm using Timing based hitting, and even when my timing is perfect or good, I'm missing the ball, popping it up, and am really just getting terrible contact. This is when the ball is right in the strike zone too, sometimes over the middle of the plate, and I can't hit it. What started out as an incredible season for such a young player has now made me feel like Fukudome where I completely disappear during the second half of the season. Has anyone else experienced such a thing? It's really maddening to see perfect timing, and dribble the ball right to an infielder, or get solid contact, but be a little early or late and get the same result.

I hear you. I don't understand it either.

I'm ranked 1st out of 51 second basemen in AAA and 1st out of the five second basemen in the Nationals organization. The last five significant emails I have gotten from my manager: There's no room for you on the 40-man roster. How do I reply?: "Make room for me by demoting one of the two lower-ranked second basemen currently on the 40-man roster."

Don't worry about it. I had 1 year I progresssed to a A overall and I got that message in AAA and wasn't called up in September. The next year I was not only a MLB starter, but the #1 starter for the team.

I'm still waiting for the call to the majors.

19 year old switch hitting 1B with power. I was drafted by the Brewers and spent only a few months at AA with them until I was traded to the Royals for Robinson Tejada and someone else. I spent a little more time in AA that season then the Royals promoted me to AAA and finished the season in AAA. I came back the next season expecting a chance at the majors. But they signed Nick Johnson to play behind Billy Butler. Nick Johnson is batting .295 with 4 HR and 21 RBI so far this season. The guy behind me John East is batting .289 6 HR 23 RBI in AA. I'm ranked #1 in the PCL and #2 organization.

                        Stats
                        (2011) AA - .435 (AVG) 31(Runs) 24(Doubles) 14(HR) 52(RBI) .740(Slugging) .441(OBP) 1.180(OPS)

                        (2011) AAA- .296 (AVG) 23(Runs) 11(Doubles) 9(HR) 40(RBI) .592(Slugging) .301(OBP) .893(OPS)

                        (2012) AAA- .387(AVG) 41(Runs) 23(Doubles) 27(HR) 80(RBI) .801(Slugging) .395(OBP) 1.196(OPS)

As of June 14th I lead the PCL in AVG, Hits, 2B, HR, RBI, Runs, Slugging, and OPS. The Royals keep telling me i'm good enough to be in the majors but they have no spot for me. But then they have had me on the block for awhile now. But I keep asking them to trade me but they respond i'm to vital to the future. If i'm to vital take me off the block and send me the majors already.

Royals traded me to the Rangers for Michael Young, proving once again while the Royals will never win anything.

My AA SS immediately went on a tear after the trade and completed a late push to make the All-Star Game held in San Diego where I ripped a double down the line in my first AB. Solidified the starting job with my new team, now batting .360.

And in other news, I finally worked my first walk of the season! Oh happy day.

I've got Discipline with my SS near 80, and I'm starting to see walks now. I even get some intentional walks for the first time in my career!I made the MLB All-star game, struck out in my only AB, and got 500 points for making the team. I've got Contact and Power at 80, most of the rest at 70. I'm going to work on making the rest of the attributes 80 before I get Fielding and Speed there.I'm having a pretty good year, and may have an outside chance at the MVP.

Tell me about it. I have made all my goals but taking walks. The only walks I get are the intentional walks because the guy batting behind me is horrible.
