Worked my way through ST with the Giants.

    Opening day: Giants at Dodgers.

Good game, but I lose 3-2 on a walkoff HR...AND Lincecum is out 6 Months with a "bulging disk" in his back...

    Lovely start to the season.

Ouch... that hurts! At least you have a solid 1-3 after him with Cain, Sanchez, and Bumgardner. Any thoughts on what you're going to do to replace him?

I'd suggest the good old 'reset' button. LOL!

Man, honestly, as much as I hate reseting, no matter the circumstances, I'm really not sure what I'd do if say, Sabathia went down opening day.

A few weeks. Okay. But six months?!?! I don't know...

        Hmmmmm......

Wasn't getting any production from my Carlos Ruiz so, I signed Bengie Molina. And my bench was a little weak so I signed Jose Guillen and Troy Glaus who in my first game with them, as my starters were tired, both had HR's. Ended up beating Mat Latos 6-2. Ryan Howard also had a HR. For, the Padres only Hundley could muster a 2-Run HR off Halladay, my only bad pitch of the Game.

Yeah, believe me, it was tempting. I knew he was hurt during the game, but of course you don't know the severity until after the game is done and you've returned to the main menu.

I must have sat there for 10 minutes staring at that screen weighing my options.

I think I'm going to just try to ride it out...I can move Suppan up into the rotation OR there is always the option of going to the FA pool. I'm not a huge 'stickler' on roster accuracy so I don't really have any problem doing that.

I'm using the last SCEA roster so the following notable names are on the FA as starting pitchers:

            - Pettitte
            - Sheets
            - Millwood
            - Jeff Weaver
            - Bonderman

Good luck! I'm a big fan of using in-house options first, and if they don't work out, going to FA or a trade. Any guys in AAA you would consider giving the call up to?

If not, I'd go with someone like Millwood - he's not a good pitcher, but he's consistent and you'll be able to pencil him in at the back end of the rotation (and also, he's the most realistic, but that's just where I come down on it).

Maybe you're right but I never did it with exploitation on the brain. I guess I found a way to build a "dream team" but like I said, it doesn't feel real therefore making the game less fun. That's why I gave up on my fantasy draft obssession.

I'm going to fire up my Franchise tonight. I decided that sicne Im using my Mets in the other game, I'll use Tampa in this one, since Im also using them in a online league.

I had intended to start sooner, but the dang NCAA tourney has all of my attention lol.

You might as well wait for Knight's OS Full Minor set at this point. I believe the set should be ready soon.

I would say Sheets is your best bet here. I am not sure if they dropped him down any from the 10 version, but in 10 he was lights out. You will need someone that good to replace Timmy. All the others on that list would be decent stop gaps if he was down a few weeks, but since he is out for most of the season, you might as well grab up Sheets to balance things back into your favor.

28-17 now after a 7 game win streak with sweeps against Arizona, Milwaukee and SF, all at home.

Starting the brief interleague series against the White Sox tonight, then going to Houston.

Kemp has been on fire, 14-game hit streak, raised his average from .160 to .285 in this month alone. Pitching has been solid as well.

Won the game against SF last night on a walkoff suicide suqeeze by TG Jr. to win 1-0 in 14 innings, one of the most amazing feelings I have ever had in a video game.

I'll post stats when I finish May. No big trades other than STL trading for Penny/Benoit from Detroit, they have been killed by the injury bug.

I agree, if we have to use him, I'll be concerned - but in actuality he's been, at minimum, a league-average pitcher for the past few years. It was a no risk signing, and if he's not up in the MLB buy May 1st, he can opt out.

I think he'd be a good sign for the guy who lost Lincecum. Frankly, he just needs a league average guy to fill in at the back end of the rotation - it sucks that he lost one of the premier pitchers in the league, BUT having Cain, Sanchez, and Bumgardner somewhat mitigates the loss.

I have a question. I started a Braves chise with a fantasy draft and my team was stacked ( offensively at least ). So I simulated a few years to see how everything played out and in a couple of years I can't afford barely anyone. Every year it seems another one of my best players is hitting free agency and I have a negative budget to sign them.

Is this happening because the Braves aren't one of these high revenue teams like Boston or NY? Or am I doing something wrong?

I've been playing this game for years and I can usually afford everyone. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
