Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I've played a bunch of Pro Am games with a 6'11" pure paint protector as our team's only big man and I've yet to see him lose a game down low when it comes to allowing too many points or giving up to many rebounds.Comment

Unless you build a team around a post scorer, it gets frustrating playing as one.
Especially since my other teammates are all slasher

It wouldn't be a horrible thing if people were strategic about it. Wing man feed the post, top guy sets a screen, swing man swings and cuts the paint

Thankfully most of the dudes I roll with are good about that. But most aren't, which is why I just don't play walk on with randoms anymore.Comment

Yep. To be fair to these cutters, people do fall asleep on defense very easily and I think that's what they're counting on. But that ain't going to work when EVERYBODY does it, lol.

I can't do walk on anymore. I'm not that good at the game but I know basketball. So at least I'm in the right position and setting meaningful screens, etc.
I did make a slasher but the lanes get so crowded. Having a pure rim protector may actually may be fun given that Trend

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Don't have the game yet, but I think I'm gonna roll with a 6'8 PF max weight/wingspan defender/shot creator. I thought about defender/playmaker before, but with the shot creator, I get putback king gold instead of bruiser gold, higher layups/dunks/midrange/post/defense. I would have loved to have silver dimer and a little more speed/stamina/ball security, but I can live with that. Only reason I don't think I should go SF is cuz I'll have pick pocket and bruiser compared to rim protector and putback king, but I will miss my defensive stopper badge working on SGs. But hey, I was a PF last year so why change now. Thought about slasher and dunking on ppl, but I would lose in the shooting department.
Are there any build websites that show the caps for at least max weight yet or wingspan? I just realized today that on nba2k.io, the highest weight they show for a PF is 238, which is the default weight, I think. I checked my 6'8 PF LDD from 2k17 and the weight was 290. So I've been basing the caps on a lower weight, I think. My guy was a 95 overall in 2k17, so I want to have around the same numbers or better in terms of offense. It looks like you can initially yellow max out all of your categories from the start in 18, as opposed to having to choose from a certain number of upgrades in 17. That seems like a good change.
