Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
Want to make a Chris Paul build. Only thing is mid range shots always feel like you have a lower percentage to hit than a half court three. Smh.
What do y'all think the archtype should be?Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
There really isn't one lol
Pure playmaker, playmaking shot creator, shot creating playmaker, 2way playmaker would all apply to him lol hell, even sharpshooting playmaker would suffice.
A playmaking shot creator or pure is probably your best bet because I'm assuming you'd want the speed/handles/passing with solid shooting statsComment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I'm after some suggestions for a new build, as I've just got to 140k after grinding my other careers and I'm looking for a new guy to build.
I normally make a Center, but I don't want to make one this year as it's just too easy, although a Pure Post Scorer still holds some appeal.
I have a 6'6 pure playmaker, a 6'6 pure slasher, a 6'4 playmaking slasher, and a 6'7 playmaking shot creator.
I quite fancy a pure point forward, but it's just a 6'10 playmaker with a lower rated ankle breaker badge, so I think I'll get bored with it. Then I was looking at something Giannis-esque (6'11 2-way slasher PF), and I think I'd probably be better off just making a pure slasher.
I pretty much exclusively play mycareer these days as park got a bit repetitive and tired after 16.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.Comment

That’s funny cause i also see Giannis as more of a 2 way PF in 2k. I don’t see him as really a playmaking SF. I see him as a SF that CAN pass very well when ppl load up bodies on him. As compared to Ben Simmons who is basically a 6’ 10” Point guard. I think that it’s been agreed in here that Giannis is one of the few guys you can’t rename on 2k. He guards positions 1-5 is damn near 7 foot tall has the wingspan of a private jet and jumps out the gym. I’m actually glad his build doesn’t exist because it would be CHEESE. lol
But if your looking for suggestions I’d start at 7 foot PF. Don’t even put defense in your archetype because at 7 feet with maxes arm length your gonna be playing just like Giannis.
So 7 foot, PF, go like 190-210 pounds so you are flying around the court. Then I’d say pure athletic finisher. Giannis really ain’t out here throwing oops and threading the needle, he’s just a good FUNDAMENTAL passer who racks up assists because he’s his team’s main ballhandler.
The important thing with that build tho would be to avoid playing the center position. Anyone good at center is going to bully you. But If you always at the 1 or 2 in park you are going to be a problem on on ball defense and your helpside blocks will Be insane. If you make this guy then try to play most your games with a stretch 5 and a point guard who is ok letting you run point like a pure sharp or something because you will attract ALOT of attention when you drive

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
When you guys make builds, do you try to emphasize your strengths or compensate for your weaknesses? Currently the only build I have rn is a 6'9", 210 SF: defense primary, rebounding secondary, and the results have been pretty pleasant. I mostly play Playground, and barely shoot unless I'm wide open. I'm the type of player that racks up a ****-ton of assists even though nothing about my build screams playmaker.
I'd like a jack of all trades player, but I learned there really is none and you just have to make a bunch of different players you feel like, but at a certain point you have to stick with a player no matter how ****ty the build is because your OVR is so much more valued than IQ or anything, especially if you're a walk-on at the Playground.
If there had to be the best all-around build, what is it? The 6'9", 250 SF shot creating/playmaker LBJ build?
I guess my advice is to make a build where you don't have to have the ball to be effective because with so many ballhogs out there you can't really count on touching it - thinking about making a max height/weight/wingspan/etc. defensive/rebounding center and just patrolling the paint on the playground like a mofo.Comment

All 3 of my builds are a mix of me focusing on my strength and taking into account who i play most my games with on my friends list.
I have 2 builds with playmaking in them because i have a lot of sharps and pure slashers on my friend list. 2 of my builds can jump on ANY team and be solid. They can defend pass and shoot 3s.
Pure post is the only one i made for my personal joy. I wish it’s 3 went to like 75 then i could really make it my main.

With those builds, I can rebound/defend well, score relatively easily and the playmaking is incredible.
IMO it's been my most well rounded builds and I've made like, literally, 20+ builds lol
(shot creating playmaker and playmaking shot creator are good all around builds as well, even a shot creating slasher - there's a few good all around builds)Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I was going to say. I agree that park can be repetitive and all that ... but playing against AI in MyCareer is THE most repetitive of all. I only play that mode enough where I get what I need from it (Hot zones, important badges to silver) and that's that.Comment

Re: Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?
I feel like a 6'6-6'7 playmaking shot creator (SC 1st/PM 2nd) is the best guard build in the game. You can just take over games with very good ball handling and it is very easy to create space and get off a good shot with a sliver of separation.
I've got a 6'7 flipped, shot creating playmaker and he is a lot of fun to use, but I definitely can't fill it up like the opposite.Comment
