This kind of ruins things then lol. Ughhhh now time to think of something else.

Don’t let my experience ruin it for you lol. But I would hate for you to waste VC. I made a 7’3 two way rebounder who’s been grabbing 20 boards before I even had hustle rebounder bronze.

It’s an ok build otherwise though. I score surprisingly well on cuts with him .

Just the part about not really noticing a big rebounding difference with him is what worries me. I was thinking about making my guy 6'11 as well.

Also kind of depends on who else you play with. I'm guessing your 5 has some glass cleaning? If so he's going to gobble up most of the boards as you have probably experienced.

I play with a 6'10 PF that has slashing primary and shooting secondary. He shoots 3s and dunks the ball. Pretty simple and effective!

My 5 is a Defense Primary 3pt Secondary. I was hoping this build would compliment the team well.

If you find that your team needs a rebounder and outlet passer then it may be more effective, especially with break starter.

Yeah man we really do lol. My PG is a pure playmaker. SG is a Playmaking Slasher and the SF is a Slashing playmaker so our team really likes to try and get up the court as quickly as possible. Issue is, after we get rebounds none of the bigs can make decent outlet passes because our passing is trash lol. I think i'll go ahead and try it out and well if it doesn't work, i have 3 other builds to lean on.

But does it actually work if I have it gold? Or am I still looking at multiple turnovers trying outlet passes?

It’s weird . Some games I can throw full court outlets and finish with triple doubles. Some games I can’t throw it at the half court line. Seem like if the other team has high OVRs then less outlets are completed. I really don’t understand it fully. But it works most games.

Silver rim protector is a plus . You’ll have a good standing dunk with silver posterizer and contact dunks. Maxing wingspan will give you a 73 3 pointer instead of the 75 at default. The midrange is money especially with pick n pop (silver ) combined with catch n shoot+ dimer. I feel like DeMarcus Cousins at times but less skilled. More so than K love

Breakstarter is one of the most stupid badges. Not every rebounder becomes a great outlet passer. Kevin Love? Good. DeAndre Jordan? Not so.

Can you not cherry pick the same notion in every archetype? In each archetype you can find this one badge you think doesn't match an NBA player in a similar mold.

Where do we go from here?

This is not the right impression to be persuaded by regarding these archetypes. We are not making NBA clones.

Yeah the dual archetypes seem more restricted to me. I do miss be able to get any badge. Made it feel more like myplayer . Now no matter what SF build I try I cannot replicate Pg13 / Kawhi / Jimmy Butler.

I understand it’s all for balance though.

You sure can, but that was not my point. The break starter badge is just illogical. A 7'3 C glass cleaner is piss poor in passing in general (53 passing accuracy) but suddenly can throw accurate long full court bombs regularly after a rebound? That makes no sense to me...

Are you sure? Im sure a lot of players, especially the younger generation, likes to replicate their idols and favourite players in 2k. Problem is, with the current archetype system you cant. Take any current superstar and its impossible to model him. Kahwi Leonard? You certainly want the defensive archetype somewhere, at least secondary, id say primary would fit even better. Do this and you take away a huge portion away from his offensive capabilities, especially if you make it primary...

Some archetypes also make no sense. Why are slashing and layups tied together? Is Kyrie Irving known for his slashing?

                              Basically here:

Give us the freedom to choose the badges we want and the things we want to excel at. To avoid exploitation or anything simply tie badge tiers to attribute tiers. If you want a badge on hof level you have to have 90+ on certain attributes, if you want gold you need 80+ and so on. Free attribute allocation would perfectly complement that, but I understand the problems that come with this, because the min/max guys would find ways to break the system and its the hardest system for a game developer to maintain game balance.

To me the biggest limitation in recreating a lot of real superstars relies more in the physical attributes caps rather than in ratings/bagdes.

No way you can have a MyPlayer with the same mix of size/strenght/quickness of people like LBJ, the Freak, Simmons, AD, etc, while you can compensate with stick skills some limitations in shooting or defensive attributes.
