[Controller settings. Icon Passing. Turn it to pass type control. It allows you to throw bounce. Lob. Regular pass with just the icon of the player you are passing to.[/QUOTE]

Just to elaborate press the players icon for a normal pass, hold for a lob/overhead pass and double tap for a bounce pass. Very cool feature.

I’m not in front of the game, but it’s not coach settings it’s coach sliders I believe under coach settings. Pause game, go to coach settings, 2nd from bottom iirc. It’s the 1st slider. Help defense (how often players will help). I always put at 85-95. It’s set to 50 for most all teams out of box. Some teams are at 35 which means they will very rarely help. I have asked for years to have this be a roster edit and 99.9% of people don’t use or even know about it and how it helps cpu and team defensive rotations. As is you can only change before the game and by switching controls quickly. I will switch to cpu before game and change as well as do this for my team. It’s a must edit before every game.

Damn I never knew about the icon passing type setting. I must say it is pretty awesome to use. Now I am doing long distance bounce passes and they look so pretty.

I’m so glad he’s the “parent” on this game. I felt like we were on our own with 2K21. 2K22 feels like real people are behind it and tending to it, and his passion lives in the alive gameplay. As long as it works as intended.

When it works as intended, it’s a masterpiece.

Off topic but still on cpu defense, can I ask the offline gamers (1) if the cpu is throwing various pnr defensive schemes on u, like a good mix of switch, catch hedge, hard hedge and (screen man) double on u? (2) Does it work if I set the defensive settings before I play the cpu in the gameplan menu eg. Set Pnr on Trae with Switch while Pnr on Lou with Catch Hedge? Meaning I run the Hawks and apply those settings to the Bucks, the cpu Bucks then defend Trae with pnr switch and Lou with catch hedge (at least for first few good min until TO with Ace kicks in and adjust).

Yes, when you are in your my nba they will stick and you only need to do them once. Just not from normal roster we can’t for play now games. That’s why we need to do the switch controller trick real quick. Takes 10 seconds.

In past games when you set cpu defensive settings they start game with it then switch when ACE takes over or after the 1st timeout. To answer your number 1 question they switch every timeout as well. That’s why usually if you get 6 early points in the paint or easy lay-in’s the cpu will call a timeout and adjust accordingly. So early really no help then as the game goes on you will see switching, doubling, help, etc…

Good to know in-game switch controller stuff works. Was referring to gameplan menu before going into game. Van, how's cpu pnr defense, do u get lots of switch assignment or drop defense mostly?

I haven’t tried play now adjust cpu gameplan on specific players. I was talking about setting that in my nba for all 30 teams and it sticks to start games. I’d assume it’s the same though.

I’ve noticed the switching as I have been running 1-3, 1-2 ghost screens, & 1-4 or 1-5 pnr’s to get the switch. I’ve seen a lot of different coverages so it’s been pretty good so far as I haven’t noticed anything bad. So pretty solid here. My only complaint is the drop coverage doesn’t really drop and it’s not true drop coverage like we see in today’s game.

I think we’ve discussed this before but the drop needs to be 2 steps further back.
