I like the guys that admit to trying to exploit the game and then get mad when it works lol…….. here’s a tip, it’s a video game, everything in virtual reality can be exploited if u try hard enough 🤦🏻*♂️

There's nothing to admit to exploiting. If they say they've changed the defence, people are going to test it. I don't need to exploit the pnr to beat the cpu, but the fact that there is a little win button in the back of my mind that I know is a guaranteed bucket effects my enjoyment of the game. It's especially irritating since it was the exact same major issue last year.

Sure, let's celebrate bad game design by using generalisations. If a game mechanic was basically a win button in any other genre, there would be an uproar. But because it's in 2k, we have to come up with house rules and excuse it.

I mean nothing I said is untrue…….. the best game in the world (u pick) can be exploited if the user decides to make that his goal…….no excuses being made, the game plays great if u choose to play basketball and not play cheese ball……. Furthermore, if it’s this bad (which you’ve said 30 times in here) why are u still playing???? It’s mind boggling how u guys continue to call the game [emoji90] yet won’t turn it off 🤣

After doing some tests, I think the ON BALL DEFENSE has been improved, but the PnR logic is practically identical.
But by having an individual defensive improvement, everything looks "a little" better.Comment

CPU man to man defense logic is better...
I can crossover my opponent with Iverson, for exemplo, but now, is not in every drible....
Man to man defense are smart now... This reflect a little on Pick defense.Comment

Are u using sliders? I had to make adjustments after the patch and raise the help defense coach slider for the cpu and myself

I played around a bit in constructed game situations.
I controlled both sides, so I am a) able to change defensive settings for the defense and b) get beaten on purpose to see how the defense behaves.
I also deactivated 24 seconds so I can take my time for the testing without having to feat that possessions are over to quickly.
1) Help side in principle is there. But it happens too late. Nobody is sagging off their opponent, regardless off offball pressure setting. only thing with an effect here is deny which will disable help rotation for this player. Leave Him/Gap/Moderate/Tight don't result in any difference at all. They are the same.
What I saw is that the help rotation gets triggered once you are close to the paint. So if you drive baseline that means that help only comes when you are already close to the basket. Especially with athletic dunkers, this is too late. In real life you would want to stop the ball outside of the paint.
When driving middle, the help comes much earlier, because the area where you enter the paint (= highpost) is much further away from the basket. Good suggestion here would be to play "force middle" all the time to have an earlier help rotation....Coutnerintuitive to what you would try to do in real life, where usually you want to prohibit a middle penetration in every possible way.
2) I played around with Pick and Rolls and the Pick and Roll D settings.
I saw that one defender will sag off to the paint once a pick gets set, to tag the roller, which is good. But, it is the wrong defender! it will be a defender one pass away from the ball (so for example from the ballside corner) instead of a weakside defender. But I think this is better than no tag the roller at all.
The Hedge Defensive Settings don't work for the most part. No/Soft/Hard/Catch Hedge all result in the hedge defender dropping a little bit. With No Hedge he will just stand there and do nothing for the rest of the pick and roll. Neither guard the roll man nor guard the ballhandler. With Soft/Hard/Catch he will try do keep with the roll man but also stand in the way of the ballhandler if necessary. Double is working as intended. Switch does not work.
On a sidenote: Offball Switches don't work either. It's a shame. Switch defense, either on or offball is the main way of defending screens in the NBA nowadays. It's not working in this game. Especially considering, that there are lots of money plays and open shots, even on high difficulties, will be green most of the times, this is really, really bad for defensive scheming.
At the end I will show you three screenshots of three different Hedge defense settings. they show no hedge, catch hedge and hard hedge. Guess which one is which
PS: in the last one you see the defender which sags off to tag the roller. You don't see it in the other two because there I controlled the ballside corner defender myself.

Yeah using same sliders as pre patch. Are the coach help sliders working now? A couple patches ago I’d put them at 100 but wouldn’t see more help. You’re seeing more help when raising them? I now am doing 30 team control so can adjust every team as necessary.Comment

IMO they’re definitely working, when I raised them I could see the help come a lot more often……my biggest gripe before I did that was when my man got passed me no one picked him up going to the rim
