MUST DO for this new update.

Lower all speed/acceleration with ball ratings 5 points (max at 65, min at 35). Then raise MIN speed/acceleration without ball 5 points (to 40). Seems to help some. Player speed with ball is stupid fast after the update. Might even need to lower it some more.

I haven’t rose MAX speed without ball yet as I’m not sure I need players running faster on court as much as I need guys with ball to slow down some.

I also rose close shot contact and layup defensive strength sliders to 60 and seem to be getting tons more foul calls. At least in one game.

The hedge man in the PnR still doesn't play properly. Just gets blown by while staring at the ballhandler. It's disappointing man.

It sucks because this game is soooooo close to GOAT status. Fix that one thing along with buffing interior contests, and 2K22 will be immortal.

I bumped interior contests and layup impact defense sliders to 60 and I seem to be getting lots more calls and it feels better than standard 50. Bumping it higher made the CPU miss everything inside though.

Defense otherwise is a lot easier now. I bumped CPU defense sliders like on ball and awareness, lateral, etc. up to 97 and it seems to maybe help sometimes.

Now I’m deciding whether to raise off ball max acceleration sliders. Already rose off ball min accel sliders to 45.

There’s no way I’m buying 2K23 and dealing with this bs again. I’m way too OCD for this lol. Can’t wait till this game stops getting updated so I don’t have to relearn the whole game each update. I just want it to set somewhere so I can just accept it and adapt to where it’s at and get my sliders perfected and just play it like that. I hate having to recalibrate every few weeks. I’ve put so much time into rosters I’m fine with using this game from here on out.

This game is so close to GOATED, it just keep sabotaging itself.

Wow, 2K killed the defense AGAIN?! Good lord, it never ends with this company...

For those interested, I just rushed out a whole host of slider tweaks that should SOMEWHAT offset what 2K has done here. Would love to hear some feedback from any who give them a try. But go easy on me, it's 4AM here and this is just a result of limited late-night testing

Not sure what u guys are seeing. For me, I saw a bunch of help, silly and good ones by my AI teammates and CPU (see videos below). I did notice in one instance where help didnt come from cpu and I was able to go for a wide open lay-up. Didnt capture that ...

All these settings were set in gameplan for both cpu and user:
- off ball gap
- on ball gap
- go over and catch hedge (but cpu mainly just switched most of the time even at start of game before ACE kicks in)
- ACE on for both offense and defense
- pre-rotate Yes
- help and no rotation enabled
- double team on auto (only turned on in PHX gameplan against me, LAK)

This is last gen, All Star default sliders and default rosters with no edits.

Side note, the off ball screens were so effective that my AI Ellington couldnt fight through and allowed his man cpu Booker tons of open 3 opportunities. It could be due to his deficiency in defense rating.

Alright, I think I’ve got it down, been having some pretty epic games. The stuff that’s broken is still broken like help D but these bandaids are helping a lot:

User shooting sliders at all star level.

CPU shooting sliders at HOF level.

User no shot meter/shot timing impact at 30.

Close shot and layup defensive contest sliders at 60 all around and for both sides.

Jump shot contest strength sliders at 25 for both sides.

User defensive sliders at standard 50.

CPU adjustments are: On ball defense, lateral quickness, defensive awareness and consistency at 97.

Foul sliders at HOF level except shooting fouls turned to 100. I’m seeing LOTS of fouls. Maybe too many. The interior defensive contesting sliders at 60 must be helping

Movement slider adjustments: MAX with ball down to 60 (I realize this slider is broken). MIN off ball speed/accel turned up to 45. MAX speed/accel off ball turned to 80.

CPU logic is still very dumb after the patch, but I’m seeing some very physical and intense matchups. Feels more like 90’s or 00’s ball than today’s ball which I’m happy with (keep in mind I use my own custom all time rosters which contributes to that).
