Wait what. I didn’t even know there was an attribute for that since it’s not in quick editor.

Ever since they went to Perimeter D and Interior D ratings, PnR IQ (along with things like Reaction Time) didn't do anything anymore despite being visible in edit player (but not quick edit).

Ran GIVE 5OUT 4 with Hardaway Jr drive to the paint, swing the ball to the corner and another help defender rotated over.

So the issue now is really just the non-existence of pnr help?

Ran FIST ZIPPER 25 with Booker, and cpu Jokic switched on pnr and couldnt contain Booker's drive and drew corner defender in the paint.

I'll like to highlight that I set the following in Denver's gameplan against the Suns (me) before playing the game (this is in myleague):
- gap all off ball
- pnr go over & catch hedge
- DT perimeter when drive by Booker = yes
- pre-rotate on Booker = yes
- help and no rotation on Booker = yes

Denver coach settings
- default at 50 help defense
- poe protect the paint

I'm not really sure if these settings make the difference but help came for me. As u can see, Jokic switched instead of catch hedge. So Ace (on for both offense and defense) may have adjusted the defensive scheme.

This is on All star default sliders, current gen. I saw a lot of help for my AI defenders when I was controlling the on-ball defender and cpu actually passed out for open 3s. The 3-ball attempts for both teams were 22 and 24 which Imo still low for me.

99.9% it’s just in pc. It’s not in Xbox x next gen unfortunately.

I'm on XB1 so I think it's just the older version of the game (which is also the PC version).

This is a really good example of how bad the help defense logic is.

Help doesn’t come from ballside. This isn’t a gameplanning override, this is the default way for the game to guard ball screens from the top. It’s been this way for nearly a decade. It was wrong back then. It’s wrong now.

Don’t help one pass away unless the guy you are leaving is a terrible shooter. Yet the game will do it regardless of who it is.

I've seen some better results recently upping the game speed and slowing down ball handler speed significantly (as well as speed across the board).

Still not good by any means. Defense is a mess in this game. But I've seen the right thing here and there which is encouraging.

I made CPU off-ball speed faster than User off-ball sleed to compensate for the terrible PNR and it’s working wonders. I think I found a pretty good balance.

I thought I’d pop in and tell everyone in as I finally tested the coach help defense sliders the last few days. They definitely work! For the last month since whenever they fixed defense I have been putting this at 100 every game for both user and cpu to great results so I never changed anything.

I know I’ve seen a few people say I don’t want to do that yada yada. It literally takes 20 seconds. But anyways… at 0 there was no help at all. Easy layins and easy dunks on the roll like we had over a month ago. At default which is 35 and 50 for all teams out of the box it’s not much better. The cpu hedger can’t help, no rotations, etc. I could see why some were still complaining in here. At 100 it’s crazy help. 100 can be too much for user as they will when not necessarily need to do you get caught on the pnpops if you don’t switch. I’d say 75 would be the lowest I’d go all the way up to 100. It definitely works now! X box x next gen…

I’ve seen great d for a month so I’d suggest trying it if your having problems. I noticed it immediately as I put them back down. Let me know…

All my testing done in the earlier posts with glimpse of help defense are at 50 on help defense coach settings (All star default sliders, default roster attribute/tendency with no edits). And well ... it's last gen.

Well of they actually work I will try this! I just wish the normal help Defense slider worked too. I’m in my offseason but will get there soon.
