2025 Recruiting Class
With four scholarships available for the 2025 recruiting class, Coach Frizzell made good use of them. The tenured head coach brought in four four-star rated prospects. In total, WVU's class is ranked fifth in the entire country. Coach Frizzell has now hauled in three top seven recruiting classes in a row. Last year's class was ranked seventh while the previous one was sixth in the nation.
Waitari Trammell headlines the class. Trammell hails from Richmond, VA and was the 26th overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. Being the 15th-ranked point guard in his class, he should have no trouble nabbing the backup point guard position right off the bat, especially with Dainmon Soto's decision to transfer out of Morgantown. Trammell is a average shooter, but is an excellent finisher at the rim.
Nathan Holcomb hails from Durham, NC. Like Trammell, Holcomb is also an excellent finisher at the rim. He has a solid shot for a shooting guard, but nothing spectacular. He has a bit of trouble handling the basketball at times, which could lead to some turnovers, however.
R.J. Peterson hails from Virginia Beach, VA. Peterson is an excellent sharpshooter and may just be the best pure shooter on the team when he steps on the court in the Coliseum this fall.
With a plethora of shooting guards on this team already, it is likely that either Holcomb or Peterson (or both) will redshirt this season.
Finally, Deno Woodards hails from all the way up in St. Paul, MN. Standing at 6'6", he reminds one of D.C Montgomery. He is a very good athlete and is known to have an excellent mid-range game. With D.C. Montgomery and Jud Helms already having basically locked down the two two slots at small forward, it is highly likely that Woodards will redshirt this coming season.
Signed Recruits:
1. Waitari Trammell 5'10 168 (Richmond, VA - #26 overall, #15 PG) 4*
2. Nathan Holcomb 6'3 184 (Durham, NC - #49 overall, #17 SG) 4*
3. R.J. Peterson 6'2 195 (Virginia Beach, VA - #67 overall, #23 SG) 4*
4. Deno Woodards 6'6 219 (St. Paul, MN - #85 overall, #15 SF) 4*Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Man I think it's crazy that you've never had a top ranked recruiting class or a #1 in-season poll ranking. It keeps things interesting though so I don't mind. Solid class coach!Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I was ranked #2 behind Marquette for quite a few weeks during my national championship-winning year, but I never passed them despite me having one less loss than they did.Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Thanks. Yeah, we got some local kids this time, which was nice. Two guys from VA and another from NC is about as local as one can get at WVU as there aren't exactly a lot of high-profile players coming out of the Mountain State.Comment

I would just like to compliment you on sticking with this, it takes some pretty good determination to play the same legacy for 4 years congrats man

Thanks, King! Legacy mode is so addictive in CH 2K8. There's no way I would have been able to stick with another game's dynasty mode for this long.Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Not an extraordinarily difficult OOC schedule aside from the trip to Rocky Top, but it should be a good season for West Virginia nonetheless. At this point in your career where you constantly bring in good players, how difficult is it to manage rotation time?My Dynasties
