I am considering starting up a side legacy with a smaller school again just to experience those early struggles once again, but I don't think there's any way I could leave this legacy behind for good at this point. I'm pretty determined to finish it out to year No. 40 (as far as you can go in CH 2K8), assuming my files hold together until then. I do have a backup, which has come in use twice now after system failures.
I don’t remember exactly when I found this thread, but it had to of been over 10 years ago. It’s been fun following along with your journey, please finish out the full 40 years! I feel like you almost have to at this point.

Can't believe you're going on your 15th year. You're one of the reasons why I started my own legacies in CH2K8 (now dynastys in NCAA Basketball 10). Keep it up! I hope your console can do the same thing. Power up and peace!

Thanks! I will try!! Still got another 10 years to go, which will take a while, but that’s definitely my goal!

Thanks! I’ve got this legacy on a flash drive, too, at least, so it should survive another console breakdown.

I need to catch up on your legacy. I had checked out of this forum for a while in between posting dynasties.

It’s funny because prior to this dynasty I was a chronic dynasty-restarter, then somehow I managed to keep this going for so long.

I remember attempting my first dynasty when I was 15, and I'm 32, so that's half my life too! And I've always been a chronic re-starter and constant fail with this hobby, James, so you're not alone... But to keep this one going for all this time? You deserve nothing but praise and applause, the world you've built is amazing and as I said before, I come back to this thread pretty often to get some ideas.

Junior guard Stefon Hull delivered a career-high 30 points, sinking six three-pointers, to propel No. 2 West Virginia (10-0) to a commanding 88-67 victory over their rival, No. 24 Virginia Tech (9-3), in a heated matchup this evening in Morgantown.

Belton Mombollet also made his presence felt for the Mountaineers, contributing 17 points and four rebounds, with a particularly strong showing in the first half. Freshman center Tremmell Amerson provided a spark off the bench, achieving a career-high 12 points and six rebounds.

West Virginia showcased their prowess on the boards, outrebounding the Hokies 40-30. The Mountaineers shot an impressive 43% (15/35) from beyond the arc and forced Virginia Tech into 15 costly turnovers.

For the Hokies, Willis Cannon led the scoring effort with 21 points, while Tomas Songcuacy added 18 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Kalu McIntosh contributed 10 points to the cause.

Tonight's win marks West Virginia's fourth consecutive victory with a margin of at least 20 points.

The Mountaineers will look to continue their winning streak as they host Boise State on Saturday.

Haha, thanks. I’ve gotten better about not restarting dynasties as I’ve gotten older, at least, and also have a pretty long-running NCAA 07 CFB dynasty going. I think part of it is that I just am not quite as into sports video gaming as I was when I was younger, and also the only sports games I still play are ancient, so I don’t have the pressure of upgrading to the latest game to content with. The fact that college sports gaming died a decade ago had the positive benefit of allowing me to get far deeper into dynasty mode than I ever would’ve been able to otherwise.

I am excited about the new NCAAFB game being supposedly released next year, though.

Also, there’s no such thing as failing in this hobby! Just do whatever is most fun to you! One thing I always recommend is to not compare yourselves to others and feel pressure to generate recaps/etc. that are the most detailed or in-depth. I’ve always tried to follow that with my recently dynasties as I know I don’t have the patience or desire to make dynasties as detailed as some do on here, and if I did I’d get tired and it would start feeling like work, and I’d quit. So pacing yourself is important!

No. 2 West Virginia (11-0) maintained their perfect season with a commanding 79-55 victory over Boise State (4-9) at home this evening.

Stefon Hull led the Mountaineers with a team-high 16 points. Joshua Wilkerson was flawless, going 4-for-4 from the field and 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, contributing 12 points to the win.

For Boise State, Dominique Waleskowski put up 19 points and secured four rebounds. Junior center Jeremy Bracy narrowly missed a double-double, tallying 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the Broncos.

The Mountaineers' defense held Boise State to just 35% (19/54) shooting from the floor, while West Virginia shot an impressive 52% (29/56), including a 48% (13/27) clip from three-point range.

West Virginia will enjoy a three-day break before hosting Morehead State next Wednesday.

Why do you have to do my Broncos like that.

I’m sorry, Deuce! Your Broncos aren’t having a good time of it this year!

Good to see this back atop the dynasty boards!

Looks like you're playing a big rotation at the moment -- any plans to whittle that down or are you liking what your depth is giving you?

Thanks! Yeah, I suspect I’ll probably trim the rotation to 8-9 guys as we get into conference play, especially against the better teams. It’s tough, though, since we do have a pretty deep roster.
