Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)

Holy crap, this legacy is almost two years old now! On March 21st, it will celebrate its second anniversary. It's hard for me to believe I've kept it going this long considering I've always had issues sticking with a dynasty in the past, so I feel like this is a real accomplishment.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, folks. I'll try to get a game in tonight, hopefully.

I am in the same boat with Coach Young. I just had my 1 year B-Day. I really want to see CY get to 1000 wins but I just grew tired of playing, and wanted something new. So I am simming out the last 15 years of his career and seeing what I can do.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to take a little break from the game to keep it fresh, IMO.

Big game coming up against LMU. I would tell you good luck, but not sure I would mean it 100% No really good luck. Hopefully Kole will continue to tear it up and Redick can stay hot.

By the way I started a new legacy project where I have guys from the boards create a player that I put into my upcoming recruiting class and if you are interested in joining the Fab 5 at UC Davis, I will actively try and recruit them as well. just put down your height/posistion/player name/Skin color/Hair color/ 3 Positivie Attributes and 3 negative Attributes about your player in a PM or post on on the Coach Dodge legacy and I will get you added

What did you think of St Mary's upset over Villanova in the tourney. I am happy for them but at the same time sad. My bracket is toast. I had Kansas and Nova in the Championship and Texas in the Final 4.

Now I am cheering for upsets the rest of the way out. I am praying Gonzaga will beat Syracuse even though I gave them no chance in my bracket.

If the WCC can bet 2 teams to the S-16 it will definetly help in the future. Now if only LMU and San Francisco can play like they are in your legacy in real life.

I was pretty happy about it. I had the Wildcats losing to Duke in the Elite Eight, so it hurt my bracket quite a bit, as well. Kansas hurt my bracket more, though, as I had them losing in the National Title Game. I always root for upsets, even if it goes against my bracket, though. My brackets always turn out bad, anyways, LOL.

I'm not sure if Gonzaga will be able to beat Syracuse, but I guess we'll see in a few minutes.

I just noticed that this thread turned two years old today, so Happy Birthday!!!

Thanks for the kind words. My reporting style has changed quite a bit from the beginning, though I think I'm settled in with my current format for now, though things may change.

                                San Diego, CA

San Diego, CA - The seventh-ranked San Francisco Dons (22-4, 7-2 WCC) apparently could not handle the pressure of their newly-acquired top 10 ranking as their ranking went up in flames in a nine-point loss to the San Diego Toreros (14-8, 5-3 WCC), USF's second conference loss of the season.

The Dons fell flat on their face early on and early in the second half, San Diego all but put the game away, or so they thought. With 10 minutes remaining, the Toreros led by 26 points and San Francisco appeared ready to give up. However, what followed was a massive rally which got the Dons to within four points with a few minutes remaining as Coach Frizzell instructed his players to speed up the pace of the game. However, once the Dons got back within striking distance, fatigue caught up with them and the Dons faded away and fell 94-85.

"We made a nice run there at the end and I'm proud of the boys for that," explained Coach Frizzell, "but you can't fall behind by 26 points if you expect to win many ball games."

San Diego was led by Armond Caporn's 27-point performance. Toreros point guard Robby Kummer contributed 19 points and 6 assists to the win while Marion Farmer scored 13 points and snatched 13 boards. The Toreros were devastating on the offensive end, where they shot 30-61 from the field and 9-20 from three-point range on their way to 94 points. In addition, the Toreros got to the line 33 times and made 25 of their 33 free throw attempts.

The Dons were led by a balanced scoring attack in which all five starters scored in double-figures. However, it was the defense that was the liability in this game, as evidenced by San Diego's offensive numbers. Matt Owen did all he could to propel the Dons to victory, but even his 25-point performance was not enough to keep San Francisco from losing its fourth game of the season.

Even with the loss, the Dons retain first-place in the West Coast Conference Standings. The Dons will have a chance to take revenge against the Saint Mary's Gaels (8-16, 2-7 WCC) on Saturday, who inexplicably upset the Dons 78-65 at home to hand the Dons their first conference loss of the season on January 15th.
