Gotcha...I think if I use some 1 handed perks on dual wield ones...

Do you think using more of the 1 handed perks would be useful enough? I mainly use archery, so I'm hesitant to spend tons of perks there...What's your opinion on the 1 handed perks with daggers in mind?

I'm pretty sure you'll probably only benefit from that first perk (1 handed weapons do x% more damage) if you're using daggers. The others don't affect daggers other than that 25% less stamina used doing power attacks.

The most time I have ever put into a Non-Sport game (I played ALOT of APK2K8) was Mass Effect 2...I clocked in at like 37 Hours....

I have now played Skyrim for.....90 effin hours! I still have the Darkbrother Hood, Most of the Thieves Guild, and some companion stuff to do along with the Main Story. I have finished the Civil War and Winterhold College.

I have never stayed this interested in a game.

Mike pretty much covered it. If you mainly use archery in combat, stick to putting your combat perks there first and one handed second.

What I am going to eventually do is switch to a sword or axe in my main hand and a dagger in my off hand. That way I'll have more damage output in a straight up fight without losing the Assassin's Blade damage bonus from stealth attacks with daggers via the Sneak tree.

Was thinking of making a spellsword type character for my next play through with magic on one hand and a one handed sword in the other. No this will leave me without any blocking so what do you guys with that sort of setup do? Just run away and try to get shots in where possible?

I did that quest after I had done most of the thieves guild, so my sneak was built up a bit. Outside I was fine, most of them weren't mages, but inside I could sneak close enough to sprint in for the fast kill.

You will still be able to block with a 1H weapon. It's obviously not as effective as a shield but still doable.

Edit: I take it back, I guess if you've got a spell in the left hand you can't block.

To help with the lack of blocking you could use spells like Oak Flesh and Wards. Other than that just make sure you don't stand still while in combat, stay on the move and out of the way of attacks.

.....and use cover, if possible, against spellcasters who hurl flame spells and especially bolts.

My sneak is pretty low and I haven't done any Thieves Guild stuff yet. Even though I have light armor, I must still be pretty noisy walking sneaking around.

I couldn't get very close, like say for a sneak attack, but I could get close enough to get the drop on guys before they could spam me from long range.

Later on I could get people to be looking for me (half open eye) and use my follower as a decoy, I would just hide behind a doorway or other obstacle, then when they see the companion and rush to attack I sneak attack from the side. It was fun, but really unnecessary since it took a long time to complete and it was easier just to go face to face.

Sneaking becomes real easy with light armor at around 35-40 sneak level. I would imagine it would be extremely easy without armor.

Sneak is broken at high levels. Stood in a dark corner, 4 enemies walk right on top of me and I sneak kill all of them(70 sneak)

I play that way currently, I use destruction magic in my left hand and one handed weapon in my other hand. Concentrating on light armor, one handed, destruction, smithing for my perks.

I basically soften the guys up with destruction magic and then move in for the kill with the sword. I am close to getting the perk that allows for unhindered movement with light armor. I pretty much use a kiting type of gameplay to down people.

                                It is definitely viable gameplay.
