Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I want to play Skyrim SO BAD! I just recently got the game and had a character with about 7 hours on it when I heard that patch 1.4 was coming out. I wasn't far enough into the game to experience the lag that is associated with the PS3 and the quest problems, but I figure "Why not just wait and start a new character after the patch is out?" So hopefully the patch comes out soon. The game is taunting me.......Comment

When you unlock a new shout, go into your Magic menu, go to shouts, select one of the grayed out shouts and hits Square/X (depending on system) to spend a dragon soul to unlock that shout.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I took a little time off myself. Now back into it. Is there any new patches on the way? Address some of the side quests that don't work appropriately?NFL - Dallas Cowboys, MLB - NY Yankees

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Also, if you do faction quests, I find it best to focus on completing all of those faction quests that you can in a row. Helps keep a natural flow about the game. For instance, I did all of the thieves guild quest lines in a row and it helped having a cohesive story and I remembered what I had done prior to that.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
You have to organize yourself in a sense. I would recommend picking a city and trying to do all of the quests you can in a city and make a point to not get sidetracked if you happen to go to another city as part of a quest.

Definitely that. I started a new character and that's how I'm going about it. I'm at level 6 and am still in Riverwood chopping wood for Hod. He pay nicely. I'm around 8k gold. I did take a bounty from the innkeep but haven't met the Jarl of Whiterun yet and I've been leveling by hunting wildlife and training.
Like you said I'm going to be very area specific on this guy, I'm roleplaying a bit with him. I created him as Jon Snow(from the Ice and Fire novels) and am going to go about it as I think he would if he were somehow transported into this new world.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I would just stick with a character roll.
I started out as a Nord with ideas of mainly being a melee combat beast with sword and shield with a little magic to use for healing....softening up targets and lockpicking(where is the friggin' LOCKPICKING SPELLS!!!?), but at level 30 I have "evolved".
I rarely arm my sword and shield and do some serious damage from afar with conjuring an atronarch .......using firebolt/ice blast.....conjuring up a daedra with Sanguine Rose staff(my favorite) and using Staff of Fireballs as well as my shouts to knock the $hi! out of enemies now.
Also like others have said.....just go to the journal and pick a quest and complete it....don't get sidetracked.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
For anyone who has completed the DB questline and wants a nice little payday:
Spoileryou can beat up the 4 people in the torture chamber until they are low in health then question them and they all tell you where to find some hidden loot. When I did it two of the hidden loot's was 2000 gold, one was 1200 gold and the fourth was 1000 gold. Easy money right there.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
It's fun enough, and it's not really bad, but it's not something that sticks out and it's certainly no reason to get the game. If you're looking for an RPG with great combat in mind, this isn't the game for you. It's still fun, though.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Just created my new dragonskin armor with the double enchantment perk, I feel bada$$!! I focused on arching DMG, one hand DMG, And magica/stamina regeneration. I made All new weapons too, I love my new bow, it does 188dmg with 47dmg fire and 47 shock, all but the hardest enemies go down with one arrow. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Well I got stuck in a "unenterable" house. I tried and tried to get out. I was frustrated. At the time my only means of fixing it was to reload a save.
I could have fast traveled and not have reloaded an hour worth of music. C'est la Skyrim.Because I live in van down by the river...Comment
