Yeah I just started all this healthy stuff last month so I'm pretty new to it. Still not eating as healthy as I should when it comes to actual food but, I've stopped eating sweets and eating less so that is a good start, I guess. What I eat isn't not really holding me back because, I still get results month to month so I think I'm ok with that aspect of it. I have toned down eating the unhealthy food and started eating less of it and more healthier type foods.

Still trying to shake off them little party pizza's though. Ugh, they'll be the death of me lol.

You're doing good in slowly easing into it I think. When I first had my big weight loss (if you can call 14 pounds to tone up that) - I did it so quickly, that it was easier to pile it back on.

Make this into a habit, then into a lifelong ritual - slow and steady. Make sure to pump that iron though - makes a world of difference.

I only weigh 185 and I was 190. I've always been pretty athletic so I'm not really worried about losing or gaining to much weight. I play sports a lot and workout pretty consistently(during the summer) so It's just getting threw the winter months that really kills my urge to keep in shape. I've already lost 5 pounds which is what I'm trying to do and get this winter fat off of me from being lazy and get my stomach back to the way it used to be. In the last 2 months I've seen pretty good results and I have a very high metabolism so it's very easy for me to lose or gain weight.

I've decided to man up and grow some balls and run year around even though I hate the cold with a passion I'm sure I'll be ok. It's not like I completely stop everything during the winter but, I'm just extremely inconsistent in the winter but, I believe this year will be different.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I'm down to 245 this week. 10 pounds lost in the month of June.

I am finding out that so much about weight loss is about diet. I always lose weight in the summer but I have upped my water intake and that helps a lot. I still need to get going on a normal lifting routine but I am getting there slowly.

6'6" (I thought I was 6'5", turns out I am less than a quarter inch shy of 78 inches).
          245 pounds

Goal is to hit 225-230, and then lift myself back up to the 240-250 range.

Keep up the good work, guys.

I'm back on the wagon. Interestingly enough, having my fiance in town ruined my drive to work out, but now that she's left for Australia, I'll be falling back into my workout routine.

Still doing what I can but these burritos are killing me. My Achilles heel for sure. And at 1,080 calories a pop, they're pretty bad Achilles heels!

I try to keep breakfast around 400 cals and lunch around 600 cals. If I have a snack during the day it is 100-200 cals. Then I know I have room for a nice 1,000 cal dinner. Best hunger depressant is WATER! I drink that ish like it's my job.

So you can eat 2,200 calories a day and lose weight? You are a lucky man.

You call me lucky... I'm 285 pounds man... my weight loss calorie range is now 2,300 calories a day. I wouldn't consider myself lucky. But it is a long journey and I'm just at the start so let's do this.

That's definitely the right attitude. I don't know how much sugar you eat, but cutting out as much refined sugar as possible is huge when dieting. You'll notice changes pretty quickly if you start to slowly cut sugar out, because the worst calories for your body come from sugar. Especially processed and refined sugar.

It's all about calories in vs. calories out. If you eat 8,000 calories but burn 9,000, you're going to lose weight. Look at Michael Phelps' diet. He was ingesting something like 14,000 calories a day, but he was still shredded because of how much training he put his body through.

I don't understand then how people can eat a few thousand calories and lose weight even with working out. I mean, it takes give or take 40 minutes for me at a really good pace to burn 500 calories on the exercise bike. So unless people are doing 2 and 1/2 hours of cardio a day, I don't get how you can lose weight.

Unless of course you can burn a significant amount of calories just sitting around.

you have to burn a significant amount of calories just to survive lol

it will vary depending on your sex/age/weight, but anywhere from 2,000-3,000 is a good rough estimate (you'll notice foods are based on a 2,000 calorie diet)
